In discussions about Sense and Sensibility which emphasize the fact that Willoughby really did love Marianne, I find it interesting that some seem to argue that this fact supports the message of “sense is better than sensibility,” while others argue that it says something in favor of sensibility and makes the novel’s message not so simple.
On the one hand, as @firawren says, it reinforces that “love isn’t enough,” which is obviously a part of the message in favor of sense.
But at the same time, another argument I’ve read is that (a) Willoughby’s genuine love for Marianne prevents Marianne from seeming like an idiot, which keeps her from being entirely a “bad example” to Elinor’s “good example,” and (b) by choosing money over love, Willoughby chooses sense over sensibility, and it’s portrayed as a bad thing.

I could never scroll through Booktok. Not because of anything the videos actually do but because as a former dsmp fan I cannot hear the words DNF the same ever again.
The mortifying ordeal of knowing that if your story was popular your male main character would be woobie-fied.
I really love the idea of how love triangles can be used in a plot in order to challenge the characters and show their flaws and desires(and the stories themes. Of course they're not used that way in most cases. And I think ways that a harem type love triangle can be used is also interesting (even if it's most of the time wish fulfillment isekai).
Anyways I had this idea for a stranger things fic using a huge love disaster shape where the shape unravels and rights itself as the characters learn a particular lesson.
So basically from the outside it seems like all the boys are chasing after Nancy and chrissy Barb and Robin are assumed to like one of those boys or another.
The reality is much more chaotic.
Nancy is of the idea that all the boys have crushes on her and is annoyed but is also a teen and is flattered and doesn't know who to pick, she's been on and off with Jonathan and steve is her ex, but she is single now.
Jonathan is of similar ideas to Nancy but in a bother self defeatist way but also with jealousy.
Steve is madly in love with Eddie but thinks Eddie likes Chrissy, and is kinda under the assumption that everyone here hates him.
Eddie loves Steve but thinks steve likes Nancy (there's a trend). He's too scared to ask though.
Robin is crushing after a few women at a time, and is emo about all these straight women she likes liking her male friends.
Barb has been in love with Nancy for as long as she can remember, she can totally handle all this heartbreak.
Chrissy is dating Jason but believes she likes Eddie but she really just needs a support system and friends. (Eddie and her are queerplatonic btw).
In the end they all learn comforting but harsh lessons. Again these might sound mean but are meant lovingly.
Nancy learns that not everything is about her. She has the weight of many self given responsibilities on her and she feels free. She may end up getting back with Jonathan. Idk
Jonathan needs to stop focusing on others and self sabotaging. He may get back w/ Nancy idk.
Steve needs to stop making assumptions. He and Eddie finally get together. He and Robin are queerplatonic.
Eddie needs to stop being a coward. He and Steve figure themselves out and get together
Robin learns that she's not alone in her suffering. She is both comforted and shown she assumes she's the only lesbian in a small town ever.
Chrissy needs to realize romance is not the end all be all. She and Eddie are Queerplatonic.
Barb needs to get over herself. She and Robin end up dating.
Obviously the kids are here somewhere, they break up the soap opera by either bringing government conspiracies to light, or they have a smaller thing going on, either way, they are not forgotten.
Argyle is too high to know wtf is happening. Living his best life frfr.

like yes. the jedi made mistakes. but, they’re an institution, not a divine being. but the leap from “the jedi aren’t perfect” to “the sith are telling the truth actually” is INSANE to me.

How it feels to read fanfics from fandoms that you’re not apart of
I found a fanfic in my Google docs yesterday and I guess I'm continuing because past me kinda cooked.
I'm a casual Ivwtv viewer, and I'm a little perplexed about people in the fandom acting like anyone in the show is in any way reliable, like, I'm believe there is some truth in what's happening in their stories, but there's a lot of lies here.
Like there's a Japanese short story that I dont remember the name of but it's plot is of multiple accounts of a murder from many different perspectives of the murder but jon of them are the same at all. But the key thing is, is that the facts fir the case are not in question: a man was murdered in the forest, they know who the murderer was, and they know that the wife was there, ect (my brain is so fried rn, so apologies for my fuzzy memory of everything in the story).
It's like this in ivwtv, the facts are not really in question. Louis is a vampire, he and Lestat were lovers but it's really complicated, Claudia was their daughter figure that was turned by Lestat, Claudia is now dead, Armand is there and has caused some problems in the relationship. But everything beyond these basic facts and never fully known.

Why is Naruto's timeline LIKE THAT?!?!? I'm trying to figure out Shisui's age to try and figure out if I'm comfortable with doing a ship for my fic (i like the idea of the ship, but underage x adult shipping is not something I want to write). And I'm literally see answers ranging from roughly twenty to 15. WHYYY THAT IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.
