Terrified of what s3 holds for kingdon because they'll have spent more time together off screen than on screen. We won't have seen the development between them in the past four months. What to expect? I don't even know!!! At least with season 2, we knew Langdon's first day back so Mel would react in a way, but season 3 is so mysterious. What happened between them? Did they get closer and in what ways? Do they hang out outside of work? Does Mel call him Frank? Do they have more inside jokes? Do they know about each other's interest in history and have they nerded out together? SOOO many delicious possibilities.

In season 3 episode 1, mel makes an obscure reference about her having gone to the fort pitt museum as an off-handed comment to one of her colleagues and 3 episodes later, langdon makes the same reference in slightly different words and that's how we find out they went on a museum date together.

even if i get minimal mel and langdon moments in season 3 but i get a langdon divorce, i'll be the happiest person on the planet. i need divorced langdon in season 3. like immediately, like yesterday. give me that and we're good.

i’m delusional but this maybe could happen:

- they are now aware of their shared history interest

- we find out they both have started doing fort pitt museum stuff (preferably together)

- other characters making jokes about them being attached at the hip, whether to them or gossiping about them

- ponytail mel/ER barbie and ken joke

- mel opening up to frank about feeling lonely as holidays approach (maybe frank opens up about the same thing??)

- frabby BONES

- indication that mel and langdon are remembering small things about each other in a coded way (she brings him red bull, he knows what becca is up to that day, etc)

- langdon makes mel blush (please god)

- ambulance bay scene even more charged than s2 finale

- hug?????? (preferably featuring a braid touch)

- no loose ass wedding ring on that finger

absolute pipedreams but what do we have if not hope:

- carpooling reveal at beginning of season

- after coded ambulance bay finale scene, they leave together

- indication that they just did matching historical themed halloween costumes

- langdon calling someone out for being rude/dismissive/ignoring mel

- robby and langdon tension because robby sees his history with collins through langdon and mel, argument

- langdon panicking during a procedure and demanding mel even tho he has plenty of other help

- bet on when they’re going to get together/when langdon is getting divorced

- jealous mel or langdon as a patient flirts with them right in front of the other

- frank asks someone for help moving bc he can’t fuck up his back again (he’s moving into that divorced dad apt)

- specific conversation of one of them asking another character what they think about the relationship/if it should be pursued

- patient waits for langdon to leave room before asking mel if they’re dating/married OR saying “he’s fine as fuck” or something

- making out sloppy style in the parking lot ❤️ or anywhere ❤️

If you were part of the writing team for The Pitt, what would your approach be to the story of Langdon and Mel’s relationship?

And is there anything you'd like to see in their dynamic during Season 3?

Omg I'm so excited, this is my first ask! And a great question. For the first question, I honestly love the direction the writers have already taken with the Langdon and Mel dynamic so far. There were so many things that happened in season 2 that I didn't even think of or only thought would happen in fanfiction - e.g. Langdon making amends to Mel, Langdon taking care of Becca and remembering the light trick and using it for both, and especially the final ambulance bay scene. Similar to what I would've loved to see or would have written for them, the writers have had Langdon and Mel accidentally but surely become each other's person and I love that so much. I would probably approach them in the lens of having a character driven slow burn storyline. Making sure they explore themselves, grow individually and then also find ways to grow together. Mel needs to be able to learn who she is as an individual and Langdon figures out his obstacles as he goes through his divorce with Abby while they continue to be each other's biggest supports before/while they begin to realize they've fallen in love with each other. As for season 3, I'd love to see Langdon and Mel building on their established foundation of trust, understanding, and admiration for one another. I want to see that Langdon has told Mel about the whole truth about stealing drugs because I really want them to have an honest and open relationship where they share everything with each other, not because they have to but because they want to and are each other's biggest supporters. I want the small moments where they check in on each other after difficult cases, know where to find each other after a long day, bonding over their shared love of history, and have more inside jokes. I want them to be best friends despite having others around them and to see them collaborating on more cases together. I loved seeing them work together in season 1 and would love to see how they function more as equals in s3. My one unrealistic but hopeful wish is that they've spent time together outside of work and and are out-of-work friends too. I don't want anything big, just small moments that cements their friendship (for now) and kindred soul connection. Sorry for the long winded explanation haha but I just love kingdon so much and could go on for ages about them :)

One of the craziest things Langdon did in season 2 was making amends and apologizing to Mel. She was one of the five people on his list and the only one he didn't let down that day 10 months ago, she was the only one on his list he treated right. But Langdon felt compelled to apologize to her and explain why he was gone regardless. He thought about who he would apologize to at home and decided to add Mel's name to his very short list. Only because he felt that he let her down by leaving. And Mel, the one person who welcomed him back so excitedly, told him he never let her down. The girl who's probably hasn't had anyone apologize to her for anything in a very long time even when she felt she had been wrong was given an apology by the one person she felt so strongly connected to that one day 10 months ago. That apology proved that she wasn't just imagining his kindness and his treatment towards her, he really did make her feel seen. He made her feel wanted. And he continues that behaviour 10 months later. And that is precisely why he never let her down.

Just a reminder that Frank went to Becca with 4 drinks options for her treatment <3 he could’ve brought water but he preferred to look for the alternatives to make a good impression!, he could had also write the treatment and make a nurse give it to the patient (in this case Perlah as I remember) but he went directly to her and watch by himself for Becca to take her pills. He could’ve excused himself with other patients and teach Perlah how to treat Becca but AGAIN Frank preferred to watch after Mel’s sister himself 💗

Still thinking about how on the one single day that Frank Langdon and Mel King worked together, it was enough to fundamentally change something within them. Enough for them to think about one another over those ten months, to the point where they had inside jokes and remembered what they taught each other.

What they mean to each other, even if they haven't fully figured it out yet or even really thought about it, is just amazing.

mateo and javadi is the only ship I've seen in this fandom that doesn't have any haters. The most non-controversial of them all and I love it because they could be so good together. Especially their season 2 dynamic was so good. Mateo doing everything to keep Javadi's attention and calling her baby too like okayy. Love to see it
