Shade Wiltshire / Screech Wire lore:
Shade Wiltshire—born the year 1999, October 30th–was only around 11 years old when both of his parents had decided it would be best to send him to a private boarding school in a southern part of the rural countryside. Little had they known they would never see their child ever again. It was a secluded area with only the Kurvington education center, a river behind it, and woods surrounding it.
The town/city of Kurvington was always filled to the brim with crimes happening left to right. It was known to be pretty messy in the city areas. But the town parts were cleaner. Cleaner was where the boarding school had been placed.
The reason for both Mister and Misses Wiltshire sending Shade away was because of strange actions done in stages of his youth. The old school he went to claimed that he would be anti-social, watch others quietly for long periods of time with no explanation, and be nonessential in his education. Even when he did speak up, it was ruled as nonsense, and the teachers would shut him up quickly, or send him out into the hall to think about his dark thoughts alone. That seemed to make Shade an outcast almost immediately in the 6th grade. Only the beginning of his middle school experience. Yes, he was troubled from a young age. The school counselors tried their best, but Shade had been put into a category that he was said to be not mentally unstable enough to get help, but mentally unstable enough to have issues.
One time back in his old school’s courtyard, he was apparently said to have gotten into a fight. The bigger kid, Chris Hawkin, claimed Shade had started it. It was not the truth, though Shade said nothing to support himself. He had left a hood mark on Chris. The fight had ended with Shade having a busted lip and bruised eyes, while he somehow managed to dislocate Chris’s left arm, and break his nose. Not only had he done so much damage for the kid, but he was also seen around school with a mini screwdriver. Many believed he was not using it for its actual purpose but something much more disturbing.
When he was sent to the Kurvington boarding educational center, he got even more quiet. He found himself focusing more on his grades, which was a good comparison feom his old schools, but news about him spread quickly. Girls gave him weird looks in the hallways. Boys cracked their knuckles at him, as if daring him to fight any of them the way he did Chris Hawkin. Shade feared that this school would just end up like the last. It’s not that he made any friends, really. But it was more peaceful at Kurvington at first. Now, his paranoia of being messed with agains was a nightmare come true. Hell, even his roommate treated him unfairly. Throwing trash and empty bottles on his side of the room for no real reason. Shade might as well had been called trash. And he was.
Shade had developed better learning skills in class, though, none of his interests were in the normal subjects like math, science, history, or literature. He wasn’t very sporty either, but he took most liking to the outdoor activities. Specifically archery, axe throwing, or mechanical Laboratory. Those classes outside were what kept him going in school. Things he could place his mind into and focus his feelings. Unfortunately, those interests only thrived the students around him to call him weird for any sort of reason. Any chance they got.
On that fateful day of September 10th, 2010 in fall, Shade Wiltshire would be caught off guard, and abused horribly to his death. A big group of boys had heard about rewards they could get from a particular high ranked laboratory in town.—A mad lab filled with very evil people. People who would test on animals, and terrifyingly test on the innocent youthful dead bodies for their own products and inventions. Most of Kurvington had never known about the cruel and illegal acts committed by this lab, yet the few that did done nothing about it.—The group of students at the boarding school wanted that reward. They were greedy and money hungry, even at such a young age, that they had planned out how to take out the trash for a few Pennie’s in their pockets. That trash? Shade Wiltshire. The school outcast and creep. It was almost too perfect of an idea to them, as they ignorantly thought nobody would miss him.
It was just outside class time. Shade had been on his hands and knees out, kneeled down under a dim sun blocking tree, as he tinkered and working on a few of his own little innovations. Things people could actually use if he got to finish them. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder. The feeling was stuff and boney, almost impatient and pushy.
“Yeah? Can I help you?” Shade asked with a tiny frown. I turned around, but was surprised to see a girl from his grade, standing in front of him with her hands clasped in front of her.
“Hey, Shade. Whatcha working on?” She asked between a giggle while smiling at him. The smile on her face seemed to catch him off guard, as he could have sworn he saw the daggers she had shot him earlier.
“O-…oh nothing,Susie. Just some,uh, stuff.” He replied awkwardly.
“Cool.” She replied quickly, almost cutting him off. “Follow me! I wanna show you something!” She remarked and suddenly ran back into the opening of the woods behind the school.
“Uh- what?! Susie?” Shade called after her in confusion. But even staring at her retreating form made his curiosity get the better of him, and he jogged after her through the eerie trees.
“Susie?” He called after her innocently, before going silent and walking further, looking all around for that girl. He had no clue what her deal was, but he started to have a gut feeling it was not going to be anything good. Then again, he tried to snap his horrible thoughts away for once, mentally curing himself out for being such a dork.
Finally, he had reached the river, he looked around, turning at all of his sides. “Boo!” Susie jumped out behind him, a darker smile on her face than before.
Shade turned around with an irritated expression, his eyebrows quirked up as he stared at her with half-lidded eyes. “……”
“I wanted to show you something I think you’ll never forget.” Susie spoke up slyly. “Now, close your eyes…”
“No.” Shade inquired. “I’m not doing that.” He replied back with a stubborn and blunt frown plastered across his lips.
“But then how will it be a surprise, Shady?” Susie asked playfully. ‘Shady’ Oh,how he hated that nickname.
“Fine.” He mumbled and let out a little huff before shutting his eyes, and covering a palm over both of the shut sockets.
“Nice! Now… just a sec.” Susie gleamed and Shade coukd only hear the sound of her footsteps shallowing in sound, like she was walking away.
After a few moments, Shade could hear footsteps approaching, but it didn’t sound like it was just Susie. There were more. He could tell by the way the leaves crunched in different directions. The sound circling him.
“Hey Shady!” A boy’s voice gassed bluntly in vile excitement. In that sense, Shade’s eyes snapped open and he yanked his hand away from blocking his vision.
It was those boys. The ones that had connections with Chris Hawkin. The ones who spread everything about him in this new school. Susie was gone, but he knew at this moment that she was only used as bait. And he took it like a fucking starving fish.
He tried to step back, still frozen in silence towards the group of around six boys surrounding him. One holding a bat, others turning their hands into fists, and some with sticks it looked like they had sharpened at the ends.
“Really thought Susie was going to give you anything, creep? Betcha wanted something reaaaal sweet from her, didn’t ya?” One familiar boy Shade recognized as Ronnie spoke up, making smooching noises at him in a cruel tease.
Shade quickly shook his head in disbelief and defensive innocence. “Wh-…what?”
“We want you to know that we are doing a good thing. You messed up by coming to this school though, heh!” Another boy added.
Before Shade had even the chance to talk things out with them, Ronnie swung the bat into his side with full force. As if he was swinging at a ball or piñata. Shade let out a little cry of pain and brought a hand to the spot that was hit, stumbling back a few steps. Just then, another boy punched him upside the head, making Shade bobbled slightly and curl into a defensive stance. The only few seconds he has to breathe was a dizzy moment of him hearing his own heavy heartbeat run inside his chest, and the boys grinning and laughing at him while he was hurt. The next moment they all started to wail at him. Not another word was left from their mouths as they beat him mercilessly until he fell to the ground, coughing up his own blood. Though, they didn’t stop there. Even as he cried and rolled, covering his face with his hands and trembling into the orange and red leaf-covered grass.
When it was clear the objects weren’t working to kill him completely, all six of the boys dragged his struggling body to the edge of the river and buried his face under the water. All of them cackled as they watched him splash around in two of the boy’s grasps. It only had taken a short mix of Shade’s blood and the water blocking his lungs ti breath mixing together and killing him. All six of the boys stood back. A few in shock and nerves, while others disgustingly pleased with themselves.
“Alright, boy’s! Let’s bag him.” Ronnie ordered.
After what seemed like 20 minutes, they all left the school campus through the woods and tried their best to keep the body secret until they reached the laboratory. All of them made it and donated Shade’s corpse to the rest of the test subjects bin and were immediately paid good money for what they had done.
Those kids lived on the rest of their days without feeling guilty at all of what they had done. When Shade’s parents got the call of his disappearance his mother cried uncontrollably, his father thought good riddance. They wouldn’t have to deal with a mistake they could not handle is all he figured.
Meanwhile at the Kurvington lab, many doctors and scientists worked on Shade’s body. They were making this new toxin liquid that could someday be used as a weapon. . .
They first numbed and froze Shade’s body for months to keep it from rotting, before eventually taking him out and injecting him with homemade acids. These toxins would mess with his blood and turn in a burning neon blue. Since he was the very first subject to be injected with this serum, they had no clue what they could change about it or what effects it would give off. When his blood transformation occurred, it changed his body temperatures. His body never got warm feom being outside of the freezer. His body and age still grew as he was in his unconscious death, but he was always cold, which was normal for a dead body. Though the scientists didn’t know that what they had injected Shade with was slowly powering up his blood stream and heart again. His brain got the blood it needed.
