Why I Prefer Weyler Over Wenclair,I prefer Weyler over Wenclair because most Weyler fans see Wednesday the way she has always been portrayed throughout the years, strong, stubborn, dark-hearted, intelligent, and independent. They don’t just defend the relationship between Tyler and Wednesday they protect the personalities of both characters.With Weyler, Wednesday feels more feminist and powerful. She is always in control, always leading, and that is exactly why we love this ship. In Weyler, Wednesday is portrayed as the stronger figure, while Tyler is simply her lover, someone who protects her, stands beside her, and is not threatened by her strength. Together, they look powerful as a duo, the kind of couple people would genuinely fear because of their combined presence, not because one dominates the other.That’s why I don’t choose Wenclair.In many Wenclair fan arts and interpretations, Wednesday is turned into an “omega girl” who serves an “alpha Enid.” She is made softer, more feminine, and is often forced into colorful, bright aesthetics, even though Wednesday is canonically uncomfortable with exactly those things. She is allergic to that kind of forced sweetness and exaggerated femininity.Wenclair fans often focus only on elevating Enid’s character, making her stronger and more dominant, while Wednesday is slowly stripped of her power and independence. Instead of balancing both characters, Wednesday becomes weaker, quieter, and more dependent which completely contradicts who she is.Another reason I prefer Weyler is that Tyler doesn’t erase Wednesday’s individuality. He doesn’t overshadow her, soften her, or reshape her to fit a trope. He adapts to her world, not the other way around. In contrast, Wenclair interpretations often reshape Wednesday to fit Enid’s brightness, rather than respecting Wednesday’s darkness.For me, a good ship should enhance both characters without sacrificing either of their core personalities.
