Today I decided to make Reaper Ash from TBOSBAS into a paper doll. I had fun. It took four hours. I’m very proud of him especially since he’s my third ever paper doll. Maybe I’ll make Sejanus tomorrow. I would have made him first but I wanted more of a challenge and figuring out Reaper’s hair gave me that. My last doll only took three hours.

Starting to think I’ve watched ever writing video on TikTok cause every time it’s the same stuff I’ve watched twice before. Getting bored out here. If anyone has any good fantasy writers or writing or world building advice people on TikTok or YouTube please tell me. I need more content to consume while staring into the possibility of developing 60.5 cultures.

in light of jill tuck’s incredibly funny arc, I motion to have fewer franchises focus on the inevitable horror of becoming like your father and instead focus on the hilariously preventable horror of becoming like your ex-husband.

becoming like your father:

-often happens after the father dies, which means that there’s no side-by-side comparison between you and the guy you’ve become a gayer version of.

-confusing! most people don’t know if their father was good or bad, let alone whether they would want to be like him.

-often (though of course not always) implies that individual struggles against generational trauma or conflicts are futile. when you see a protagonist struggle and struggle to avoid hurting others the way that their parents did, only to follow in their footsteps, it can be difficult to remember that individual effort, while not always an effective solution on its own, is important.

Becoming like your ex-husband:

-hilarious

-you still get brunch with the guy on occasion

-relatable & scary. many people find it difficult to attach morality to the effect their parents had on them. the same is not often said about ex-spouses.

-unexpected by everyone!

-implies you would divorce you

Hi a writing idea just came to me and I felt like sharing. Vampires x serial killer. You think they would be equally deranged but they aren’t. The vampire is repulsed by what they are and the serial killer is just down to eat people. One is grappling with the morality of consuming flesh to survive and the other is doing it for fun. Feel free to use this. I’m sure it’s not original nothing is ever original but hey it came to me so you get it now.

Been thinking about this guy lately. I know he’s a cop and an antagonist and all that but there’s something about him. Part of that may be the thing I tend to do where I become really fond of characters people tend to hate but I do love his dumb ass.

Something I’ve really struggled with in my writing as an aroace is romance. I don’t get it. It doesn’t really make sense to me and I want my characters to be in love romantically I just don’t know how. If anyone has any advice on this please share. I feel like I’m missing something.
