Hey ajita!! I'm really out of shape and have let myself go this past year due to my severe depression and lack of motivation. I'm finally trying to do something about it by eating clean and doing the 30 day shred. The thing is, after 10 minutes I'm completely winded and I give up. This has happened twice and I'm starting to feel hopeless. Can you give me some advice?
"The master was once a beginner." (or something like that!)
Everyone starts somewhere! That fact that you’re being pro-active and eating healthy & working out is fantastic!! Don’t stress if you get tired/ winded when you first start. Everyone is in the same boat as you initially. Yesterday, I did weights again for the first time in a few months and I couldn’t lift the same weights as I could before. I had to start from scratch and it was still really hard!! But I’m not beating myself up because at least I’m doing something.
A bit of advice: If you want to succeed in this for the long-term, you have to stop thinking in the short-term. These things take time and you have to be patient and consistent. Keep at it, and I ASSURE you that you will be able to keep up.

Holy shit balls
THESE HURT LIKE HELL
GO DO THEM
These are also called bottom-to-bottom squats. They hurt so good! Try doing them in a tabata circuit. No weight, just body weight.
MUST TRY :)
Everything Love
I have been having a very hard time being ok with my body tonight.
I have been wanting to have no body at all.
I have been wishing to be small and hidden.
I have been feeling the need to disappear.
I got into bed and was going to take pictures of my body to be negative towards it…
but then I clicked this image and looked at it.
I saw sand dunes.
I saw nature.
I saw myself.
I am the Earth.
I am the Earth.
I am the Earth.

RUN YOUR OWN RACE
This image exemplifies that idea perfectly. It was sent out in a Boston Marathon newsletter a few months ago, and it’s at the 15k mark. Desi Davila is over 30 meters behind the lead pack here, running all on her own.
But running her own race and not getting caught up in the pack paid off. In the end she caught all but one of that pack, and was only off by two seconds. She also ran an American record for women’s time on the Boston course. She stuck to her guns and followed her plans, and the result was amazing.
I’ve been trying to remind myself of this for the last few weeks when thinking about how I’ll run my marathon, but I think this is applicable in my life as well — I have a lot of friends doing their own career paths, getting married, settling down, and that … freaks me out sometimes because I’m not even close to getting that any time soon. But you know, that’s fine. It’s their life, it’s their journey, and sometimes the worst you can do is try to push yourself into someone else’s race.
Run your own race, and glorious things could happen. :)
I think this is also a beautiful metaphor for life.

This is how I end a workout.
