Shut up loser cunt.
Finally watched "Heated Rivalry" and yeah, many of those complaining about USA hockey are clearly influenced by this cringy show. You've brainwashed yourselves into believing that these men would act and think a certain way, shipping them with each other or with yourselves. I fully disagree with those who say that they prefer fictional hockey men while at the same time creating self/reader ships. Not only is RLF shipping disgusting and creepy, but it'll just make the player more uncomfortable with your type. So, in all honesty, I'm glad these men were "honest" about their political leanings (even though they are only visiting the goddamn president). I think those that double down on them don't want the kind of fandom that you bring to the game.
My two reactions when I see posts whining about US Men's hockey team getting drunk, trolling Canada, and going to the White House:
Tumblr is so entertaining about everyone losing their minds over USA Hockey. Luckily, I personally don't give a shit about who or what anyone believes in. I don't run my life worrying about what celebrities believe in or not. I'm just celebrating the fact that we kicked Canada's ass and got what we wanted from this Olympics: Canadian Tears. But thank you, Tumblr. I haven't been this entertained since the elections.
just came across this clip for the first time and im obsessed with the awkward jumbling back-and-forth ‘i love yous’. they just keep saying it back!!
‘i love you’ ‘i love you too’ ‘aw thanks man i love you’
then Shikamaru got no sleep overthinking that

Donald opened his eyes.
Blinked once. Twice.
His head hurt, ached, like a nail had been driven through his temple.
The ceiling was spinning, but he could still see that he was a room of white and chrome, sterile and alien. It was a room he knew; it was a room he’d missed.
“Donald?” a voice, just as achingly familiar. “Donald, can you hear me?”
Donald blinked once. Twice.
He was dragged back into darkness.
Uno tinkered, because that’s what Everett had always done, and it was the one thing he was never meant to do.
He was designed to be a sounding board, a verbal sparring partner. A learning artificial intelligence modeled after the self-declared “Smartest Man on Earth.” He wasn’t a friend, or an equal, no matter how much he might’ve wanted to be.
Everett Ducklair left Uno alone, abandoned like his tower, like his failed tools of peace turned weapons of mass destruction. And so Uno tinkered, because his creator had always forbidden it, and he’d perhaps developed a bit of a rebellious streak.
He reconfigured the tower’s layout countless times, hacked into government databases just because he could, designed and built and destroyed all manners of weapons and protective or assistive technologies. He watched all 26 James Pond films and built functional replicas of each one of Pond’s spy vehicles, his laser pen, elevator shoes, and so on.
Uno tinkered for himself, until Donald entered his life and then he started tinkering for the Duck Avenger.

Spoilers for KOTPOTA Sequels:
Noa: She has lied to my face 100 times even though I can only look at her when she's around, almost tried drowning me and my family, and is reuniting the human world to commit war against us after hundreds of years. As the leader of my clan, I must make a fair approach to these actions for the protection of my clan and all apes.
Eagle Clan: ...
Mae: *Breathes*
Noa: Go, do another crime.
Eagle Clan:
So imagine you're Caesar, chilling in heaven, and for the next 300 years, you grow frustrated at the fact that apes and humans can't get along, apes are killing one another, and you have this guy using your name and waving his dick around thinking he's all that and tainting your message and values. Then one day, you see a male ape and female human develop a (not-so) romantic relationship and honestly, you're clinging to any straws you've got so that you can finally rest in fucking peace.
Caeser: Apes and humans fight, Proximus is a dick, and ya'll are killing one another. CAN'T I GET ONE DAMN THING?!?!
Noa & Mae: *smile shyly at each other*
Caesar:
Maurice:
KOTPOTA, pls.
(SPOILERS)
I find it hilarious how the movie needs to remind us that Soona and Noa are supposed to be a thing like two times. One by Mae and the other at the end when he shows her the telescope.
Come on, Wes, we know where the chemistry is and it ain't between those two.
Okay, so humor me here. Did anyone else get the sense that there was the beginning of an enemies to lovers thing between Noa and Mae?
Reasons to support this theory:
First, read this interview with the director Wes: https://screenrant.com/kingdom-of-the-planet-of-the-apes-wes-ball-interview/
The facts:
1. When Proximus Caesar was yelling at Noa to choose between a human or an ape (Soona had a knife to her throat) he couldn’t make a choice. Mae made it for him and shot the ape holding the knife.
2. Noa gives Mae his mother’s blanket and Raku’s Caesar medallion. He doesn’t give anything sentimental to Soona.
3. The scene with the observatory occurred between Mae and Noa before it happened with Noa and Soona at the end. Noa reacted way more strongly to watching Mae look through the telescope. Also, both of their faces (Noa and Mae) are transposed looking at the same sky together but apart in that last scene.
4. Despite not being entirely truthful, Noa is forgiving to Mae in a grudging way at the end of the movie and he asks if Apes and Humans can ever live together.
5. Who is saving Mae repeatedly on horseback and hauling her up a steep cliff? Noa.
6. Mae meets Soona, and then while setting up gunpowder with Noa she asks if he likes Soona. He said something about them being born close together, and she looks quickly away.
7. Throughout the movie, Soona is treated as a background character in comparison to Mae. Mae gets way more screen time and interaction with Noa, and will continue to in sequels.
Am I crazy or is this going somewhere?! To make it more interesting, there could be a potential triangle between Mae, Noa and Soona…

Well, this is going to be intense.
I believe there's quite a bit of subtext that makes them extremely shippable. Mae has been brought up to hate apes and think that humans have the right over them. She has been raised in a world where humans are hunted and ostracized, and all she knows is what she's been told: that the apes took everything from them and if they have to live in a bunker or be hunted like prey, it's because of those "monsters." It's understandable that she harbors hatred towards them if we consider her perspective and where she comes from.
Additionally, she has a mission. She's been trained to be a soldier in service to human interests, and she firmly believes in this (a good example being that she doesn't seem to have any moral qualms about doing whatever it takes to achieve her goals, even if it means killing or letting people die). Noa is a means to her goals, and she uses him, which is consistent with her background, and this is where both worlds collide like a damn big bang.
Noa is the opposite of her: he was raised in a tribe with the love of his parents, childhood friends, and community. A rather healthy and functional environment, unlike hers. He only knows humans as "wild" creatures and little else. He's the archetype of the innocent young hero whose journey involves transitioning from a child to an adult by leaving home and witnessing the world's problems. Consequently, he has a noble and empathetic character. Mae is predisposed to using him as just another tool, and suddenly she finds someone with that naive honor typical of someone who hasn't experienced enough yet. Both he and Raka help her and take risks for her. And this causes very conflicting and contradictory feelings in her, quite difficult to manage because aren't they supposed to be detestable monsters? Why does he suddenly seem like such a good guy? Is he really torn between choosing one species over another? Am I supposed to hate him but I can't really bring myself to do so? What does that mean? They form an alliance that doesn't hold up because it's based on a common goal, but isn't that how the best dynamics between heroes and anti-heroes start?
Honestly, Mae seems like the most complex and interesting character of all, because despite holding onto her belief that humans should regain dominance, she's clearly conflicted by everything she's experienced with Noa. Female characters, especially those who share the spotlight with the male lead, often represent unconditional support, care, and rationality. A female character like Mae, who fits more into the archetype of a villain with potential for a future redemption arc, is truly refreshing. I sincerely believe she went with the intention to kill him (why else return then?), but in the end, she couldn't. And when he asks her if humans and apes could live in peace, she's truly conflicted. That's where it's evident that everything she's been taught and her purpose in life clash sharply with the relationship she's developed with Noa throughout the journey, and she doesn't even know how to respond because she's unable to process it.
I mean, the director has made it quite clear that, although Noa was introduced as the protagonist, Mae would be the deuteragonist of the story and potentially the saga if there are more films. This means that in the future, they will meet again, and we'll see the consequences of the time they've spent together. I'm not sure if current Hollywood would want to explore romantic feelings between them (I would, for the potential and because it seems much more intriguing than opting for the easy route of childhood friends or any kind of cliché romantic interest), but certainly, if there isn't a clear, even platonic, relationship between them, I won't see any sense in it. The chemistry between them is a fact, the tension and distrust palpable, but also an undeniable attachment between them. They're one of those relationships that make you suffer a lot and generate too much anxiety, and I'm completely invested in them.
Overall, it's a classic enemies-to-allies-to-enemies again- to probably allies again- to friends-to-angsty-and-doomed-love, and I really love those kinds of relationships; the more complex they are, the more obstacles there are, the better
Yes, agree nearly on all points. Even if they do not have an official romantic relationship, the dynamic makes for a great ship and fanfiction to follow. A doomed love triangle dynamic with Soona is probably reaching, but definitely worth exploring on the fan side.
I only disagree where you mentioned Hollywood is not quite ready to explore this. The Planet of the Apes from decades past had Zira kissing Taylor on screen, and they almost introduced a human-ape child hybrid to the series. Isn’t the ultimate proof that humans and sentient apes living together peacefully found in the highest possible form of a relationship, a pair bond? Additionally, we have examples like The Shape of Water, Avatar, Gargoyles and more where one of the characters is beastly or alien and still there is a solid romantic relationship there.
I believe Noa and Mae will definitely have an intense relationship of some sort, and they definitely care for one another at this point to some degree. It’s evident in all the times Noa helped Mae, and that Mae did not shoot Noa at the end even though she had the gun hidden - just in case, or perhaps with the intention to murder him as you rightly mentioned.
Great discussion points!

THEY'RE MAKING ME SHIP A HUMAN AND APE, ANDY!!!!!! A HUMAN AND APE, ANDY!!!!!
Honestly, I’m just really obsessed with Disney right now and it’s getting me through college so sue me! XD (And I don’t have my scanner ;-;)
I wondered if Donald ever had really violent war flashbacks? Even if this makes no sense it was great practice.
Honest Question
How was Luigi and Bowser queerbaiting? The trailer showed one scene with them that was interpreted by some as sexual due to a pull of a mustache. It was never stated they would have more communication beyond that. The voice actors never hinted anything. Jack Black made a comment, but Charlie Day was focused more on Luigi’s characterization and his relationship with Mario. Had it been queerbaiting, they would’ve pulled a parody rom-com trailer or you would’ve heard teasings from Illuminations, Nintendo, or the actors.
And for those complaining about Bowser’s “heterosexual love” to Peach, what did you expect? This is a movie of a popular video game whose main villain constantly kidnaps a princess he’s in love with. Nintendo made damn sure that didn’t change.
