hey i made a drawn to life au around a year ago
This post probably won’t get much attention at all but I wanted to write down all the stuff for it anyway. Warning, this shit’s edgy.
As said in the title, I started it around a year ago, but I only just rediscovered it and decided to reboot it. It was called Drawn To Life dreamworld, and pretty much ignores all DTL games excluding the first one.
The turning point of the game (not including the character designs) is just after the MC (I’ll call them Drew considering thats their name in the AU) has their fight with Wilfre at the end of the game. Drew decides that, after the shadows had vanished, Wilfre would be able to be rehabilitated into the village and society as a whole. Jowee is reluctant at first, but agrees it’s a good idea, Mari, of course, has a grudge against him, but let’s him stay in the village under the watch of Drew and some of the other villagers.
A few months after this, two strangers, named Sock and Salem, come through one of the gates. After being interrogated by Mari about why they arrived to the village, they manage to convince Mari to let them stay.
Throughout their stay, Mari becomes slightly paranoid and a bit of a control freak, always watching her surroundings and demanding to know exactly where Heather and Jowee were going whenever they were not in sight.
The shadow’s on Heather’s left side seemed to be getting worse, Salem noticed this and was able to heal her using a brightly-coloured flower on his mask. Mari asked what the flower was, and Salem explained that it was some sort of representation of the colours in their world, and had enough power to eliminate all of the shadows in the world, but at the same time collect and trap all of the colour.
Over the next few years, Salem and Mari began to trust eachother more, and Salem chose to give the flower to her, as she was the mayor. He understood that he was getting to be ill, and didn’t have enough energy to harness the power of it. Sock and Heather, (Both being children/teenagers in the au) bond quickly, and Heather is able to come out of her shell and start talking freely.
Everything seems well in the village for a while, but Mari, tasked with the protection of the flower, along with her paranoia, is overcome with Megalomania. She runs from the village and tries to destroy the flower multiple times, failing every one. She eventually finds out a way to damage it, but is only able to remove one petal at a time. Each petal representing one colour. The petals seemed to be as strong as diamonds, and wouldn’t break without brute force.
Meanwhile, the villagers and Drew follow Mari around the world(?) trying to distract her so they can get the flower (and their colours) back.
Things I haven’t thought of happen, mari becomes a shadow monster, and I haven’t thought of an ending.
I might add onto the post later with some sprites ive made of the characters and their AU designs? idk.
