It’s honestly horrifying seeing people getting excluded from their own communities. Wether it may be a disabled person who does not fit under the box of “proper symptoms” (as if following the set of symptoms the medical professionals provide can entirely encapsulate everyone’s unique condition) and are treated like they’re faking, or a person who’s gender or sexuality doesn’t properly fit into any label or its “contradictory”, as if those two things are not on a large spectrum and expression of your identity doesn’t require a specific label… people in these marginalized communities already face so many difficulties and exclusion from others, and now more conflict is created within that very group? To what benefit is this aiming for? This discrimination achieves nothing but prolongs the chance of acceptance and actually creating change. If you cannot support your fellow community, if you can not be an ally, if you try to set up an illusion of superiority for conforming to some set of “rules” of how a certain individual should be - you are also discriminating against them, you are hurting others and you need to grow from that immaturity. If humans were so simple to be reduced to our own meek little boxes to help sort people, that undermines the complexity of humanity and each individual, if you cannot fathom the concept that a spectrum actually means someone can be on a completely random point of said spectrum, then your views are still limited and doesn’t account for everyone, you cannot deny the existence of people you cannot accept, no matter how much you try to push them away
