Delving Into How I Read Birth Charts
PSA: I’m no expert and I am just writing this off of my experience in some people seem to have approved off being true (after I did their readings).
Initially, I started off with a generalized understanding of each (sun) signs’ characteristics and then I tried understanding what each planet represents in our lives. I applied my initial understanding of these signs and how they would work if they had positions in these planets. I broke down my understanding in hopes it might be useful to anyone who is interested in doing this for fun as well.
What Is A Birth/Natal Chart?
Your natal chart or astrology birth chart, shows the placements of the planets during your birth time, following the planets obituary movement. The further the planets are away from the sun (e.g. Mercury compared to Venus), the longer it would take for its placement to change, hence, you would find yourself sharing similar placements in your charts with somebody who was born near or during the date of your birth.
Sun
The Sun reflects your identity and your sense of individuality. It reflects your ego. This is the planet that is often associated with you in astrology posts, although it does not fully represent who you are. It is normal for people to feel like it does not fully represent themselves, as this only one placement in their full birth chart that makes up for who they are.
Moon
The moon reflects on your inner self. It rules on your emotions, moods and feelings. Moon signs are usually the signs that most people are more likely to be able to identify with, as it reflects one’s personality when they are alone or at their most comfortable.
Mercury
Mercury is the planet of communication, hence, this placement reflects on the way you communicate with others, how you process information and how you perceive the world.
Venus
In astrology and other cultures, Venus is associated with the planet of love. It reflects on how and what you love, how you express as and your behaviour in romantic relationships.
Mars
Mars is the planet of aggression, it reflects the way you assert your energy, take action and often how you deal with anger. It is also related to your sex life and ambitiousness.
