We are super excited to release our prompts for the upcoming 9-1-1 Pride Week 2024 in June!
Our prompts have been inspired by a mix of a 'classic' queer prompt or song plus a memorable quote from a character.
Feel free to use either or both prompts for your creation(s) and keep in mind that you do not need to use that exact lyric or quote in your work, it can be inspiration or a vibe as well!
Our overarching theme for the week is: "The bravest thing you can be is yourself".
Prompts will be listed in plain text below along with rules under the cut. Please send any questions or requests for clarification in our asks box!
Rules:
No hate or ship bashing - we’re all different and we all love different things.
Tag correctly! Trigger warnings, ships, ratings, (pure) smut, etc - it’s all fine as long as you tag it.
Create what you like, nothing is too small or too big, and every medium is allowed.
This event can be combined with other events as long as the other event allows it.
We will be creating a collection on A03 (details to follow closer to event timing).
Please tag the blog @911-prideweek or #911prideweek2024 so that we can find your creation to reblog!
Prompts:
For June 10th to 16th, 2024
Day 1: Song lyric - "I wanna dance with somebody" || "I'll remember enough for the both of us."

Since we've had a couple new followers this month - a reminder that these prompts were for last years Pride celebration (2024) for the 911 and 911 LS fandoms!
That said, we welcome creators who are interested in using our prompts - go forth and create! We just might not be around to reblog, so just a fyi.

Summary:
Eddie's gaze is fixed on the table; his shoulders are set uncomfortably in a tight line, and he’s obviously steeling himself for whatever he’s about to say. Hen’s considering pouring them both a second shot when Eddie blurts out, “I kissed a guy,” and Hen raises her eyebrows. “And I liked it.”
Okay. She has to admit, of all the things she expected Eddie to be freaking out about, his sexuality was not it.
There’s only one thing she can do in the face of that. She shifts in her seat, says, “Well, now I gotta hear more,” and pours herself another shot of mezcal.
I wrote this for the last day of @911-prideweek for the prompt "I kissed a ___ and I liked it."
I wrote this for day 5 of @911-prideweek and since it's a drabble, I figured I'd post the whole thing here like I did with the first prompt. The main part is under the cut, but you can find it on AO3 too.
The prompt was "unexpected support."

Summary:
Eddie hadn’t intended to come out. Buck had told him time and time again that he was fine acting the way they did at work — stay professional, no PDA, no mentioning their relationship. Eddie could take his time.
But then Buck had to get caught up in a conversation with his niece about photography, had to show Eddie a picture she took, had to say with a shit-eating grin on his face, “Hey, look at this. It’s like it was taken by a professional.”
Eddie smiled, said, “You’re an idiot,” kissed him.
He forgot they were surrounded by his family.
In a secluded corner of the backyard, his dad quietly asked him, “Are you happy?”
This was the man who had taken him aside at age ten and told him to step up. He had to be strong, had to be the steady ground others walked on, had to put others first — always.
“Yeah.”
His dad smiled something small but genuine. “Good. You deserve to be.”
Eddie didn’t know how to react to this easy show of support. But when his dad tentatively opened his arms, Eddie stepped in for an awkward hug without hesitation.

Summary:
“I’ve been thinking,” Eddie starts, and he feels Buck shift next to him, making himself comfortable, giving Eddie his full attention. The steps that lead up the porch aren’t that wide, so they’re both pressed against each other, shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm, thigh to thigh. Eddie swallows, his heart beating uncomfortably fast. He can’t quite meet his best friend’s eyes. “And I’ve been researching.”
Buck says, “Okay,” and nothing else; he’s giving Eddie time to get there on his own. There’s no rush. As far Buck’s concerned, they’ve got all the time in the world.
(Or, Eddie has realised some things about himself, and he tells the only person he knows he can trust with absolutely anything.)
I wrote this for Day 2 of @911-prideweek for the prompt "coming out to a sibling and/or ride-or-die" (specifically, in this case, to a ride-or-die). I'm publishing it a little late, but I guess better late than never 😅
I wrote a drabble for the first day of @911-prideweek and since it's pretty short I figured I'd post the full thing here too. The drabble is under the cut, but you can also find it on AO3.
The prompt was "I wanna dance with somebody."

Summary:
They try to be quiet when they get home, but it’s hard when they’re both giggling, laughing, takings turns to shush each other. Karen stumbles on an end table; Hen rushes to support her before she falls.
“Oops,” Karen says, laughs again. It’s almost contagious. “This is your fault.”
Hen raises her eyebrows. “My fault?”
“You wanted to go dancing!”
“No, you wanted to go dancing!” Hen counters. She tries, in vain, to keep her voice down.
Karen smiles, starts singing in a low voice, and Hen completely forgets their need to be quiet.
She loves it when Karen sings.
“I wanna dance with somebody,” Karen sings. She keeps her voice low, but Hen hears her like she’s on loudspeakers. “I wanna feel the heat with somebody.”
“Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody,” Hen joins in. Her singing voice isn’t that good, but it makes Karen grin, and that’s all that matters.
“With somebody who loves me,” Karen continues.
Hen takes a step closer. “I love you,” she says, placing her hands on Karen’s hips.
“I love you too.”
They kiss, stay close once they break apart. They start swaying, after.
The party might be over, but they’re still dancing.
