Week 2 Day 2!
Done! And I haven't missed a day yet!!!
Yesterday I was very tempted to make excuses and I almost started to but checked myself and pushed through anyway! Here's hoping I can keep this momentum going through the rest of my life!

Week 2 Day 2!
Done! And I haven't missed a day yet!!!
Yesterday I was very tempted to make excuses and I almost started to but checked myself and pushed through anyway! Here's hoping I can keep this momentum going through the rest of my life!
Day 4 and 5 of my Get Moving Challenge
So proud of myself because yesterday it took more effort to find the drive to workout or go for a walk. BUT i did it. And I'm so happy and hope I can keep this momentum going into my next week! I may try and do a dance workout tmr too!
I've consistently managed to do Let's Get Up week one and haven't missed a day. I think that while working out releases endorphins, the dancing just brings me so much joy. I look forward to it! That being said, today was weights and upper body, and while it was sort of choreographed, it was less dancing. Still, I felt a nice sense of accomplishment!
Yesterday I also ordered in and had quiznos for dinner, and I did check to make sure I was still in a calorie deficit. But I made sure to not allow myself to be anal about the "calories" i was eating, or punishing myself for it by working out harder. And I'm proud of that because I used often punish myself for eating junk food by working out harder, or pushing my body too far with physical activity. This time I feel like I still have a balance between having healthy movement throughout the day, and ensuring I get the right nutrients in my body while also treating myself. I know not everyday will be like that, but I'm happy to be on this journey with a more open mind and while giving myself more grace :).
How's your week been?
Day 3 of Get Moving Challenge
DID IT!!!
Decided to just another day of Let's Get Up! Today we used weights and ohhhh boy my shoulders were BURNING! But it felt good.
Finished some much needed yoga stretching and drinking my protein! Gonna go for a walk and have a phone call with a friend I haven't spoken with in some time. Looking forward to the rest of the day!
Day 2 of My Mission to Get Moving!
Done!!!
Today I did Day 2 of "Let's Get Up"!
It was a bit of a struggle to get going I won't lie and asked myself a few times "hmm, do we wanna go for a walk and do a little yoga today instead?" Afterall, the goal is to get moving every day! But then a funky fun song came on from the playlist I was listening to on Spotify and I really wanted to dance so I did. Definitely needed the 20 min yoga stretching I did afterwards, god my hammies are STIFF!
Time for some protein and more WFH!
Let's Get Up - Day 1
DONE!
While I did work up a sweat it was SO MUCH FUN! Barely felt like a workout because the choreo is so fun, and I grew up dancing, so it's nice to do something I love! I have downstairs neighbors so I kept jumping to a minimum, did the low-impact modifications and STILL burned nearly 500 calories!
UPDATE of ALL UPDATES
[Idk if anyone is reading this but just wanted to get this off my chest and put it out there in case it helps someone else!]
So I left Tumblr for a while, still barely around on here unless I’m looking for specific motivation because most of my friends have left Tumblr and all. But I am still fond of my pages so here goes...
Since my last update I’ve gotten my bachelor’s degree, work full time in the field I studied and have wanted to work in for most of my life, and ended a 4+ year long relationship that wasn’t serving either me or my ex anymore. That being said, my health both mental and physical sort of fell by the wayside. But now, I’ve been seeing a therapist regularly, have appropriate diagnoses and help for my PTSD and ADHD, and am figuring out my medical support for the ADHD with my medical practitioner. TODAY I want to start hop back on the healthy lifestyle I used to have, without forming an unhealthy obsession with calorie counting, and without losing sight of my other goals.
I’m hopeful that with the right medication and continued therapy I’ll be able to prevent myself from getting fixated on one aspect of my life and letting the rest slip away. I am ALSO aware that I will hit road bumps along the way, that this will NOT be a smooth journey. While this makes me weary/anxious I feel determined to persevere and believe in myself to do so. I have learned to give myself grace when I need it, being kind to myself. I’ve planned to find other activities to do when I can’t find the will to give my body the movement it needs instead of giving up and then feeling guilty and punishing myself. I’m going to avoid this viscious cycle by choosing to go for walks and/or doing yoga at home when I can’t click play on the workout I plan to follow.
Regarding my fitness journey, instead of jumping head-long into an aggressive workout like Insanity (which I used to do after not working out for a while almost as a way to punish myself), I’m choosing something a bit more joyful! I’ll be starting Let’s Get Up, a dance workout by Shaun T! So on days I can muster the time and energy I will dance because dancing has always brought me joy. On days where my mental health is getting in the way of that I will go for walks and/or do yoga/stretching inside! I deserve consistency from myself, but I also deserve kindness and I’m hoping this time around I can build habits and a life-style that benefits both my mental and physical health and can stay with me for a lifetime. I don’t want my mental and physical health to hinder me anymore. I want to create balance and joy in my life. For myself.

Life Updates?
So my third year in this 4-year bachelors degree program has been INSANE.
Aside from having 5 courses each semester, and regular university amounts of papers and finals and mid-terms, my program also requires a stupendous amount of practical hands-on work. This is a motion picture arts degree, so I’m talking 12 hour days just filming, 4-8 hours a week of prep for these films, meetings on meetings on meetings, and THEN hours upon hours of post-production. In between all this, I also have to work because I live on my own, and try to help my mom with her work (she’s been solely financially responsible for my siblings and me, our whole lives). Then, of course, there are always going to be life-related issues and instances of hopelessness because nothing is easy.
This is all just a blurb to say I’ve had barely any time to take care of myself.
But now that school’s out for summer, I want to try to bring back SOME semblance of order in my life. I’d like to continue meal-prepping, and expand on it a bit. I’d also like to start working out again. My ankle is completely healed since my high-ankle sprain last August, and I’m really excited to have time to work out again.
Yesterday was DAY 1, I did T25 Cardio Alpha, and oh man I barely made it.
This is a workout I used to CRUSH every time, and yet I did it yesterday and I was like
Anyway, time to do Total Body Circuit. I haven’t done a push up in forever so wish me luck and pray I don’t hurt myself again.
