i could be reaching here but i find it interesting how the male drivers in F3 and F2 are all clearly undereducated in even the most basic topics, while several of the women in f1 academy and in other race series are very openly pursuing higher education and continued education often in some form of engineering and i just think that goes to show how 1. their positions as drivers are not secure and they need to find other financial avenues while in motorsport and 2. how they need and are expected to have a higher level of understand of engineering and motorsport than their male counterparts
these tags from @regina-del-cielo are so fucking true and yeah theyâre so doing those boys a disservice by not prioritizing their education. What i find especially interesting however is how when you do look at drivers who made it to the top who didnât continue their education, their mothers are often the ones trying to get them to continue it.
Piastri, Bortoleto, Bearman and so many others all have said at one occasion that their mothers wanted them to continue school. Antonelli said the only reason he stayed as committed to school as long as he did was because his mother wanted him to. it was their fathers who were making the decisions about their education.
Iâm not sure what or how this really relates to the conversation of girls in motorsport prioritizing their education but i think the fact that so many women and girls are prioritizing their or their childâs education can go back to what tags said about how disregarding their education could negatively impact them. The men and boys in these situations are on a one track mind to the top while seemingly to me it looks like the women and girls know that that isnât a good choice
