Itās A Girl!
Zenyatta had a Medaglia dāOro filly at about 8:50 p.m. on 5/9!
HE SAW THE MEME SO HE BECAME A MEME
alexander the great was a weird horse girl
when alexander first saw bucephalus and found out that his dad philip didnāt want to buy the horse because he was unmanageable, he kept saying that it sure would be a shameĀ to give up such an awesome horse
he kept saying this until philip was like well alex do you think youāre so great that you can tame this horse
of course alexander said yes
alexander tamed this Troubled Horse Who Lets No One Else Handle Him by being gentle to him and and turning him away from his shadow
literally like a Horse Girl Movie ā¢
philip was so amazed by this that he told alex that macedonia was clearly too small of a kingdom for him
in the words of a delightful ode to bucephalus, āfuck you, dadā
bucephalus became alexanderās favorite horse whom he loved without equal and who wouldnāt let anyone else ride him
one time bucephalus got kidnapped by persians and alexander freaked the fuck out
he promised that he would cut down every tree, burn all the crops he found, and kill every living creature until he got his horse back
needless to say, bucephalus was returned along with a plea for mercy
bucephalus then supposedly lived to be about 30 years old which is pretty long for an ancient horse
when he died alexander was so upset that he named a city bucephala after him
thatās right, a city named after his horse
somebody please make a Horse Girl Movie ⢠about alex g
Need me a freak like that

I kept telling myself if I could only hold out until May, just May 8th, I would turn twelve and be able to sign up for the tesserae and get that precious grain and oil to feed us.
Pt had poop coming out of their pleural chest tube.
WTF!šØšØšØ
Yikesā¢
I wish I could say that Iāve never had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing that. Unfortunately, Iāve seen that and bile come out of chest tubes :O
For those of you wondering how ā fistulas on fistulas on fistulas. Fistulas between all of the various structures, enterocutaneous fistulas. Fistulas fistulas everywhere.
@boluscoffeestat esophageal tear, although Iām willing to bet there was more further down. They came to us from a small town hospital where they had tried bipaping this personā¦. Yikes. The same biley stuff was coming out the OG, chest tube, and ETT. The poop was around day 3 or 4 and was actually coming out around the insertion site as well. Not good at all.

I fully get Elisa Wallace's apologetic explination
But I am so goddamn disappointed in her selfishness on a clearly tapped out horse. You could tell 5 fences from home Johnny was out of gas and she didnāt pull him up. No. She pushed him harder. He barely made it. I was watching her try and her him to the last thinking āif he makes it over, heās either going to drop and need vet attention, or will HAVE to be withdrawn before show jumping.ā As I was thinking that, HE FELL. HE COULDNāT EVEN MAKE IT OVER THE LAST FENCE but he TRIED and nearly caused himself serious harm.
I agree with the FEIās decision to issue a yellow card. Horse welfare comes first, and while Iām unsure if they actually held that up outside this instance (saw a horse with a rider in pink DRIPPING blood from the mouth ON COURSE and when the rider dismounted), at least Elisa hopefully had a wake up call.
Overall, it was incredibly disappointing performance for Elisaās first international 4*. She let herself down, let Johnny down, and let America down with her actions.
not gonna lie iām usually a big fan of her and this seriously pissed me off too. apparently she also didnāt check on him after he fell (sounds like a groom took him) and her post was very nice but iām still going to have trouble seeing her the same way again.
@myfairjoy @rolexdreaming
I was really trying hard not to make a comment on this, but Iāll leave you guys with a (long) excerpt from my ex-trainerās article (and while he by all means is no authority on proper horsemanship by my experience, i felt this was appropriate) that explains this PERFECTLY. Hopefully itāll put things into perspective for everyone, and it says what honestly, I cannot.
āI lost my wife Amanda at an event 10 years ago. Letās use her example as a teaching tool. She made a mistake. I made a mistake, and the sport didnāt make a mistake. By pushing so hard to achieve goals, weāre pushing right past the point. Do you know why Amanda didnāt make the team? Because she didnāt live long enough. Because she pushed so hard to get there that she died in the process. Itās horrible and itās tragic, but it wasnāt the sportās fault. Nobody made her run that horse. I never told her not to run the horse. We sat at home and tried to figure out how to make the horse go better instead of saying maybe this horse isnāt an advanced horse. Maybe heās good at the intermediate level. When you are team-bound, when you are goal-driven, you donāt look at life that way until itās too late. Iām trying to tell people, sometimes itās better to go home and come back another day. Sometimes itās better to look at your horse and say, āYou know what buddy, I love you, but maybe the four-star, or the three-star or even the two-star level is above you,ā and not push your horse or yourself past the point you can do. I donāt understand why people think that they have a god-given right to go around Kentucky as fast as they can or as fast as they want to. Itās your job out there to take care of you and your horse first. If you donāt like a course, donāt run it. If you think questions arenāt fair, donāt run. Most people donāt do that. Some said this year looked like a soft Kentucky, and I said thereās no such thing as a soft four-star. Maybe this one wasnāt as tough as others, but itās tough. Donāt mistake it. Amanda had five advanced horsesāRegal Style, Chevalier, Broadstone Harvest Moon, Exodus, and Drizzle was on his way. Berlioz [whom she fell with] was just trying to catch up to the others. Maybe itās my fault. Maybe I should have said, āHey Amanda, you know, the horse really doesnāt want to do it.ā But I was 27 years old; she was 28. You donāt think that way. You think, āI need more horses so I can get on the team.ā And she would have made the teamāChevalier did go to the Olympics when Bobby Costello took over the ride. It wouldnāt even have taken any more time. But she didnāt get to make the decision because she was too ambitious. Know When To Call It A Day You have to be aggressive in this sport. It is X-C; there is an X in front of it. It is an X game. This is an adrenaline sport, and you have to be on the edge. It is tough; it is a thrill. You canāt come out and ride it like itās the hunters either, but you have to know by the time you get to the upper levels, that there is a day that you have to pull up. Itās part of the game to say, āThis is not my dayā and go home. I did it at the Fair Hill CCI*** (Md.)āmy horse had two more stops to go [before being eliminated], and the stops heād had were not horrible, but my horse said, āYou know what, I donāt want to do this.ā And I said, āOK, letās go home before we get hurt.ā And I went home and didnāt get hurt. When you have consistent things telling you that you are having a bad day, youāve got to make the decision: Do you want to pull up, or do you want to go home in an ambulance? Iāve got to tell you: pull up! Walk your horse home. There is no shame in retiring.āĀ
I like the ideas given in this last comment. The drive overtakes people. Itās bad, but itās human nature. Itās no excuse, but it is understandable. Elisa is one of my favorites to watch and follow because I respect her riding and horsemanship skills. I was dumbfounded when I saw this happen. It seemed so unlike her. The yellow card was deserved. She knows that. Iām also 100% sure sheās learned her lesson. Iām sure sheās absolutely beating herself up for getting too caught up in the moment and making bad decisions in a panic. Nobody is perfect. We all make horrible mistakes and weāve all done bad. Weāve all hurt horses. What we need to do is learn from our mistakes and vow to do our best to never let that happen again. Iām sure she is feeling the same. She adores her horses to the moon and back. That adoration is not an excuse or a justification, but I am glad to know that her intentions are never malicious. Iām happy that Johnny is okay. Iām hoping Elisa learns her lesson from this and grows from it.
The discourse I needed. I am fulfilled. Thank.
Iāll read this later ācause I have to go but I only saw 2 gifs of her on the course, included her fall and I mean.. yikes
HORSE TUMBLR COMMUNITY: Iām overly proud of how respectfully this conversation was conducted. Seriously. Iām SO happy that we had such a positive discourse about this. No rider bashing or cruel comments. Just talking about horse welfare and trying to support each other and learn from each other.
is there a video yet?? i havenāt seen it :/
This is a compilation of the day - Elisa comes in at about the 6 minute mark.
