I kind of hate how Will turned out, but that’s alright!

Close Ups/Explanations:

Mike is Orpheus

He is the poet and music guy. But, he is also quite nieve. He has never had to look for food, he still sees things optimistically. But because of that he is able to be beaten down and made to doubt himself.

He will find Will in every universe no matter how much it takes. He will turn around every time because he has so many doubts, but one thing is certain. He loves Will.

Will as Eurydice

He has been abused and hated his entire life. He has seen poverty. He knows what it’s like to be hungry. But, despite that he still sees things optimistically under all of his fear and desperation.

Mike is the first person to see him as he is and not hate him. But, he is still jaded and when Mike ignores him on accident, desperation still leads him to Hades. But in the end when Mike comes for him he realizes that he is not alone, and while Mike breaks he heals. He knows it’s an act of love when Mike turns around.

I might post more for this AU in the future but no promises lmao :)

Jonathan learned first aid when he was very young in order to patch himself and Will and his mom up when Lonnie got violent.

He checked out countless medical books from the library and after Lonnie left continued even more passionately. All he wanted was to be able to pick someone up when they fell and make them feel better again.

He always did it with Will, even teaching him a lot of first aid just In case.

When he got into photography he got into it because he wanted to.

That’s why he got Will into art, because he wanted him to have something that wasn’t out of necessity.

Haven’t been able to stop thinking about Byler as Orpheus and Eurydice because apparently that’s my new niche and I hate myself

Like it just works so gooooood

And I see Mike as Orpheus and Will as Eurydice but I guess the roles could be swapped too

Mike is litteraly a writer and I love head cannoning him as a future musician or at least song writer because I he just gives those vibes 😭

Also he asked Will to be his friend? He is his protector? He’s full of whimsy before the world beats him down and he becomes kind of jaded??? He’s literally the perfect Orpheus yall

And Will has been abused his whole life? All he wants is comfort and love and to be held by someone?

He’s a hopeless romantic even though he doesn’t always show it. He’s jaded but he chooses to be a better person in spite of it? (Yes Jonathan probably more accurately represents Eurydice but that’s besides the point lol, all the Byers are lowkey Eurydice coded)

Anyways I’m kinda going crazy over the nuances of Hadestown and how perfectly it fits their whole story so I may yap more in the future about it

And Will just brushes it off, saying it not important and they should continue kissing.

And Mike is like "Will, why are you using your powers? What's wrong?"

And Will just sighs, telling him how there's a demo on the other side of the wall. "Like, yeah, it was about to claw through and kill us, but I just stopped it. Can we continue kissing now?"

And Mike isn't even sure how to reply

If anyone cares, Will is the oldest of the party in my mind. Even when him and El are bio twins, he’s the older one. And yet he’s still the baby of the party

I just think it’s really funny to have Will be the oldest and Lucas and Max be the youngest

Idk something about it scratches my brain just right

Trying to make a fully fledged timeline for my stranger things re-write to make my life easier and dear god the inconsistencies

Like their ages are so fucking confusing and inconsistent and then there are some spots on the timeline that just make absolutely no sense at all

For example, there is no way that StarCourt mall was built in like not even six months

Maybe I’m just a little too nerdy for this but I have relatives that work in that field in a small town and there is no fucking way they are building that monster in 6 months in a small town

Projects like a fourth of that size have taken muchhhhh longer before I can promise you

And I mean even suspending my disbelief that they built it in 6 months bc maybe Russians sped it up or something, it’s still insane

Idk it’s just little stuff like that that could be explained away but I don’t like them

It kinda sucks bc they have sooo many plot holes and they didn’t even try and expand on them 😭

They just distracted us from shitty character development and inconsistent plot lines by introducing new characters 😞

And I still adore it bc it has so much potential that I will be having so much fun with expanding on

Does anyone else find the recent Henderhop rise just beautiful?

Like yeah, you killed of our girl, you made her think that there was no world in which she could exist free and happy, you isolated her from her friends and you gave her a love interest who couldn't even say "I love you" back to her when she was about to DIE.

And we all unanimously decided HELL NO, she deserves a better ending, she deserves her suffering to be acknowledged, she deserves to be able to be close with her friends, she deserves to have brothers and a mother who love and cherish her, she needs to know she deserves a boyfriend who will treat her right and who will love her how she deserves to be loved.

She deserves an apology from Mike and a true friendship with him.

And the way to get her everything she deserves is paring her up with this sweety pie of a boy who is also really traumatized but still so kind and good and...

Dustin Henderson and Jane Hopper deserve eachother and I think that is beautiful 💜🧡
