Adrianās always had a staring problem and itās always been pretty bad.Ā
Itās not his fault that people are always so interesting, the way their face twitched, their eyes focused, and their hands moved. He also claimed a lot of the times he was just staring off into space, his eyes unfocused behind his glasses as his mind wandered and ran about a hundred miles per hour.Ā
But when he was looking at her, he was never staring off into space and it was not his fault that the most recent hire at Checkmate was beyond perfect and had so many interesting things about her for him to learn.Ā
Like how she got into black ops in the first place, how smart she was, and how kind she was to Adrian. She never snapped at him and he seemed to never get on her nerves. A trait rare to find in any of his friends.Ā
Plus her smile, god her smile.Ā
Adrian felt like he could stare at it all day, the way her lips quipped up almost as if she was trying to find the fact she was smiling only to fail and it to take over her features.Ā
She was beautiful and Adrian loved watching her, but in the least creepy way (at least in his mind). He was always so interested in the way her hair laid, her choice of clothes, the way she nodded along to music he couldnāt hear at her desk. He wanted nothing more to join her in her little bubble, to move his desk next to hers, and be able to chat with her all day long.Ā
Emilia shut down that idea pretty quick, much to Adrianās dismay.Ā
The best part of her though to Adrian was the fact she actually seemed to like him. She would smile and nod along as he would stand over his desk, rambling about absolutely anything that would allow him to keep talking.Ā
It was getting unbearable for the others to watch.
āHow was your weekend?ā Adrian asked as he stopped by her desk, the blank sheet of paper he had printed as an excuse to walk by her was clenched tightly in his hand. He hoped she didnāt notice or at the very least was kind enough to not mention it.Ā
āIt was good, thanks for asking Adrian.ā She said, smiling up at him causing his own grin to grow. āHow was your weekend?āĀ
āOh, it was great! I played Hello Kitty Island Adventure, me and Chris tried that new barbecue restaurant, and I looked at another apartment!ā He stated proudly, a red flush creeping up his neck as her smile grew, looking up at him. He found himself unable to pull his gaze away from her eyes and the soft expression on her face.Ā
āHow was the barbecue place?āĀ
āIt was good!āĀ
āGood enough to go again?ā She asked and he took a beat to think about it.Ā
āYeah, Iād say so.āĀ
āWould you want to go again but this time with me?ā She asked and Adrian felt as if the world was suddenly spinning.Ā
The next part seemed to happen in slow motion in Adrianās head. First he could hear Chrisā sigh as Adrian tried to lean against her desk, anything to play cool as he tried to figure out how to navigate what to say next. While attempting to play cool (and failing) he knocked her candy dish to the floor, sour candy going everywhere as she immediately jumped up and started to fumble to pick it all up.Ā
āIām so sorry!ā He rushed out as she pushed her hands away, so he could pick them all up for her.Ā
āItās okay, Ade.ā The nickname sounded like music to his ears and eased his inner turmoil, most people in the office just called him Vig and itās not that he didnāt like it, but coming from her it always felt like she was actually seeing Adrian - not just Vigilante.Ā
āI really didnāt mean to,ā he murmured, sounding almost mournful as he looked at her cracked bowl. He felt hot shame fill his body as if he was just a kid knocking over his momās favorite vase and not just an accident with a coworker.Ā
āIāve got the rest, it looks like Chris is waiting for you by your desk,ā she said in a low tone so only he could hear and he felt the skin of the back of his neck tingle. He watched her pick up the big pieces of glass with one hand as she sat them back on her desk.Ā
āSorry,ā he mumbled and in a moment of panic and bravery he squeezed her hand before darting back to Chris at his desk, his face flushed with shame as the bigger man watched him. Even as he walked away he couldnāt help but let his gaze drift back to her, watching the way she was quick to pick up his mess.Ā Ā
āThis is just so pitiful,ā Chris said, leaning against Adrianās desk as his eyes snapped from her to Chris who was looking down at him with a smirk.
āIt is not,ā he complained instantly. āBesides, I have no idea what youāre talking about. Just zero clue, for all I know you could be talking about anyone here. Maybe the way John keeps pussyfooting around Bordeaux.ā
āDude, why donāt you just take her on a date or something,ā Chris said, for once ignoring the chance to make fun of John with him.Ā
Thatās when Adrian knew it was serious.Ā
āI donāt know, isnāt it weird? Weāre coworkers.āĀ
āWhat are me and Harcourt?āĀ
āThatās different and you know that! You guys were eye fucking each other from across the room from before we even became the 11th Street Kids!ā Adrian whined and Chris sighed.Ā
āBro, just listen to me. You need to ask her out before someone else does or she moves on. For some fucking reason she makes goo goo eyes at you and you follow her around like a lovesick puppy.ā Adrian shifted uncomfortably at Chrisā words. It wasnāt that he hadnāt noticed how she looked at him, in fact it set all of him on fire he couldnāt not notice if he tried, but it was the concern that he could still be wrong. No one had ever had a crush on Adrian, at least not one that they had willingly admitted to him and before her he had never really felt like this for anyone.Ā
She was just one of a kind.Ā
āI donāt even know what weād do,ā Adrian deflected and Chris snapped his fingers and pointed at him.
āDude! Take her on the party boat! Me and Harcourt had a blast and it really got things moving for us!ā Chris said and Adrian wrinkled his nose.Ā
āThe party boat is always loud and sticky and gross. I donāt want to go there.ā
āDo you want to have sex with her or not?ā Chris asked and Adrianās eyes whipped around the office making sure she didnāt overhear him.Ā
āNo! I mean yes, but I want to hold her hand, cook dinner with her, and just like exist! I donāt want to just fuck her! She means more to me than that.āĀ
āDamn, bro. Then you have got to take her on a date, Iām serious. Sheās not going to wait for you to stop being a little bitch for forever. Iām serious about the party boat, even if you donāt like the music or you have weird issues about it the music will work its magic, I swear.ā Chris said as he clapped Adrianās shoulder, but before Chris could fully turn away and walk away he pointed at Adrian with a serious look on his face.
āIf you say āpussyfootingā again Iām going to beat the shit out of you,ā he threatened and Adrian furrowed his brow.
āItās a good word! And accurate! Especially in Johnās case,ā he said a small chuckle remembering how just last week John had essentially been forced to buy everyone pizza because he offered to buy Bordeaux lunch and she thought he meant the whole office. Unwilling to ruin her sudden praise John had grumbled and bought everyone lunch just to be āfucking niceā.Ā
Great day for Adrian, bad day for John.Ā
āYeah for the 18th century,ā Chris said with a snort.Ā
āGood words donāt have time limits," Adrian said smugly and Chris rolled his eyes.Ā
āWell maybe you can talk to her about all your weird fucking vocabulary words on your date so I donāt have to hear about it anymore!ā Chris teased and Adrian sat at his desk leaning back in his chair as his gaze drifted slowly over to her.Ā
Maybe Chris had a point, if he kept waiting and waiting eventually sheād justā¦move on. Adrian knew she was smart and beautiful and deserved the world and he so badly wanted it to be him, but he couldnāt help the creeping existential dread when it came to himself.Ā
He was selfish and weird and not nearly as attractive as Chris. He struggled with social cues and volume control, never knowing when to stop running his mouth. Sometimes all he felt like he had going for him was his actions as Vigilante and being a hero behind a mask. He was worried he wouldnāt be enough for her and he didnāt know how to even become worthy of her.Ā
Her candy was fully back situated to where it was before Adrian had foolishly knocked it over and she was focused hard on her screen, biting the inside of her cheek as she continued to work. Adrian smiled at how adorable she looked and rubbed the arms of his chair before sitting up and started to do some research on the next party boat concert.Ā
None of the bands seemed familiar to him and he also didnāt have much confidence that she would know them either just based on the small snippets of music he heard through her headphones on occasion.Ā Ā
But Chris had told him it didnāt matter, that he just had to let the magic of the music and the boat do its thing and the night would go right.
And god, did Adrian want the night to go right.Ā Ā Ā
Adrian spent the next week attempting to hype himself up into asking her out, he had already bought the tickets as a way to make sure he wouldnāt back down. However, every time he attempted to ask her, his heart started to race and losing the $50 from not asking her didnāt seem so bad anymore.Ā
But today was Thursday and the concert was tomorrow and Adrian already hated the fact that heās waited so long and now itās going to seem so last minute to her. He knew if someone was going to invite him to something heād appreciate as much time as possible.Ā
So he arrived at Checkmate at five in the morning, when he was sure heād be the first one in the building.Ā
Meaning he could ask her out the moment he saw her.Ā
At first he stood by her desk, categorizing her photos on her desk and her little knick knacks in his brain even though he had looked at them a thousand times. Hell, he had even asked her ten thousand questions about them. After about thirty minutes of standing, eyes darting to the door every few minutes he finally migrated to his own desk and every time he heard someone come to the door he would shoot to his feet. Only to be meant by a confused stare from Ads, an angry look from Harcourt, and a sigh from Chris.Ā
It wasnāt until Adrian felt like his nerves were fried that she finally walked in and made a beeline for the breakroom for her morning coffee. Adrian silently cursed himself - all that time here and he shouldāve made it for her and had it nice and ready. He slinks behind her walking into the breakroom.Ā
āHey! How are you today?ā He said, coming into any conversation at eight in the morning truly with too much energy.Ā
āJesus!ā She cried, hand flying to her chest as she whipped around on him. Adrian gave her a shy smile.Ā
āSorry, sorry!ā He cringed, the interaction already off to a great start.Ā
āJeez, Adrian. Iāll never understand how you have so much energy all the time without coffee,ā she said with a gentle laugh as she continued her movements to pull down her favorite coffee mug. A Pokemon one he had gotten as a Christmas gift some years ago and since he didnāt drink coffee he brought it into the office for communal use. Adrian had no idea if she even knew it came from him or if it was just her subconscious drawn towards it. Drawn towards him.Ā
Adrian selfishly and unrealistically hoped it was a mix of the both.Ā
That on her first day she picked one that she liked and once she learned it used to be his, she couldnāt help herself and continued to use it. Practically claiming it as her own.Ā
āAnd I will never understand how you stand the taste of coffee,ā he said simply with a shrug as he hopped up on the counter, nervously kicking his legs as he watched her. āSo, big plans for this weekend?āĀ
āI donāt know, would you count binge watching a show and eating Chinese take out big plans?ā She asked, looking at Adrian with a wide grin.Ā
āI mean, it sounds like a great weekend to me, but I umm if youāre looking for possibly something different to do. I have had two concert tickets come into my possession and I was thinking it could be possibly a fun time for us to go together,ā he rambled and while his hands shook her hands suddenly stopped from getting her coffee.Ā
āAdrian, are you asking me on a date?ā She asked, voice remaining neutral which made Adrianās nerves spark. He had no way to know which answer she wanted to hear. He had to either back down or tell her the truth.Ā
āYes,ā he said with a squeak, nodding his head aggressively and he was rewarded by a beautiful smile taking over her features. One that sent his heart racing and his head swimming as he was already racking ideas on what he had to do to make sure she kept that smile.
āIād love to go to the concert with you,ā she said gently and Adrian smiled. āWhatās the band?āĀ
āOh, I have no fucking clue, I just bought the first tickets I saw!ā Adrian announced proudly and she rolled her eyes, but it didnāt feel rude like it did when Harcourt or Chris did. This felt lighter, almost sweeter. Like he was finally in the know of an inside joke.Ā Ā
āSounds great, Ade. Text me the details?ā She said with a chuckle and Adrian nodded and it was like the floodgates were open.
Adrian in the past had been careful about his stream of consciousness texts he sends people. He never wanted to push her away or freak her out so he would write them all in a notes app and just day dream about getting to actually talk to her.Ā
But she said, she said text me the details so Adrian slowly and surely began texting her. He still held onto and overthought every single text he sent her, but she seemed like she was alright answering him and engaged well in the conversations, making Adrianās confidence skyrocket.Ā
You still picking me up at 7? She texted, the vibration dragging Adrianās attention away from his shower. Blinking and leaning in as close as he could without falling in the shower he smiled, drying his hand off just enough to text her back. He fought the urge to just skip the rest of his shower to text her instead, but he figured he should at least wash the shampoo out of his hair.Ā
Yes!! I will send you my ETA when I leave!! š§āāļøĀ
Adrian was quick to get ready after that, spending as much time as he could on each individual part of his outfit.Ā
Teal shirt, unwrinkled and short sleeve in case the crowd was too hot, paired with a simple black cotton jacket that he definitely sprayed way too much cologne on. One he fully intended on giving her by the end of the night.Ā
Jeans cuffed over his freshly cleaned tennis shoes free of any scuffs and missed stitches.Ā
Curls freshly styled as Ads had helped him a few months prior. Who knew you shouldnāt be using 3in1 for your curls? Chris told Adrian it was a āglow upā but Adrian didnāt know what changing a hair style really meant in terms of attractiveness but if there was just a .05% chance she liked it more - he would do it.Ā
Glasses cleaned as well as he could before he got frustrated with what felt like endless fingerprints and scratches.Ā
He even took his car through the carwash the day before, just anything Adrian could nitpick he was. He wanted it to be the most perfect evening of their lives. He had to show her a good time and if anything he just needed this night to mean something to her, maybe not as much as it was going to mean to Adrian, but he just needed an inch.Ā
An inch and maybe he could get her to feel what he felt whenever he looked at her. Hell, heād settle if she felt half of what Adrian felt for her.Ā
Ten minutes!! But if you need more time I can wait in the car or on your front porch or inside your place if you want. Really anywhere! Iām like a choose your own adventure book you can make me wait anywhere! He texted as he buckled himself in the car. Adrian couldnāt keep himself still the whole car ride and for one of the first times outside of when he was dressed as Vigilante he wanted to speed.Ā
He wanted to speed so bad. Ten minutes felt so long and not long enough either. He had run through an internal script of various conversations, but he still knew that there were bound to be curve balls.Ā
But he kept to the speed limit and he was met with her waiting outside with a large smile wearing an outfit that Adrian had never seen her wear.Ā
āWow you look beautiful,ā he breathed out as soon as she opened the door and got in his car. Her smile widened as she looked away from Adrian. He waited for her to buckle before he started driving towards the docks. He keeps the radio low, wanting to be able to hear her better and encourage conversation, a tip he had read on Reddit.Ā
āThank you,ā she said. āYou donāt look too bad yourself.āĀ
āOh, wellā¦yeah this is my favorite shirt actually because it-ā
āThe closest to the teal on your Vigilante suit?ā She asked and Adrian was thankful they were at a stop light so he could look at her, a shy look over his own face. āLook, I uhhh even wore teal socks for the date,ā she said, pulling them so he could see them. His face remained in shock till someone honked their harm to alert him not only had he been staring but also the light had been green.Ā
āI love them, obviously.ā Adrian said after a beat and she laughed.Ā
āYeah, I figured by that broken .exe look on your face,ā she teased and Adrian laughed hard.Ā
āYeah, well I could tell you like me because you wore teal socks!ā He defended and his face screwed up slightly at the weight of that accusation. Instead of her telling him off or playing it off she simply looks at him and says eight words that immediately have him spiraling.Ā
āIām glad itās finally becoming obvious to you.āĀ
The rest of the ride Adrian cannot stop talking and heās not even sure what he is saying just that he is running his mouth because heās afraid if he stops for even a moment sheāll say something that breaks his brain again. He caught her eye a few times as he drove and was pleased to see that at the very least she was smiling at him.Ā
Once they were finally parked, Adrian was quick to get out of the car to run over to her side so he could open her door, holding out his hand to help her out.Ā
āIāve never even been to this part of Evergreen,ā she said as they continued walking next to each other, Adrian was painfully aware that if he just swayed three more inches to his right their arms would brush against each other. He could probably get away with it two with how many people there were just walking around.
āOh! Itās really nice during the day in the summer, the only time Iām really down here at night is when Iām patrolling,ā he admitted honestly, the party boatās lights coming into view as his fingers twitch for her hand.Ā
āHuh, I guess I just assumed youāve come here with Chris before,ā she said, looking over at him and he gave her a shaky smile.
āNo, this is my first time here, honestly probably my first concert in my adult life,ā he said with a smile and she tilted her head.Ā
āIs this even something you want to do?ā She asked as they got through the line, standing still as they waited to get onto the boat. Adrian frowned as he looked at her, fear coursing through his body.Ā
āOf course, I want to take you on a date. Why wouldnāt I want to take you on a date? Do you want me to take you home?ā He immediately asked as his nerves frayed.Ā
āNo, I mean yes, wait,ā she said, taking a deep breath and signalling for Adrian to copy her. He did it, but still felt his mind racing, did he need to take her home? The date had barely started and he had already fucked up so bad she couldnāt even pretend for a few hours to be okay with him? āI donāt want to stop the date, but if seeing a concert on a boat that doesnāt even leave the dock isnāt something you want to do thatās okay, Adrian.āĀ
āOh,ā he said, blinking owlishly at her. āNo, Iām okay, I want to go on the boat,ā he insisted even though his skin was already crawling from all the people just casually bumping into each other and talking loudly. It was as if it didnāt bother them as if they werenāt noticing just how much was truly going on.Ā
He fought every urge to show any sign of discomfort as he rubbed the back of his neck. He didnāt want her to think he was weak or unable to do fun stuff, especially when he needed her to know that this meant something to him.Ā
āAlright, if you insist,ā she said, turning her attention to the line with a pleased look on her expression. Adrian smiled as he watched her eyes flicker across the crowd. In losing himself while watching her he was barely able to register his hard flinch when her hand made its way into his. His breath caught as her fingers intertwined with his and the weight of her hand settled in his. āSo if a concert isnāt normally your scene, what would you rather be doing?āĀ
āI like concerts,ā he defended awkwardly again, wishing he could make her understand he was having a good time and she gave his hand a squeeze.Ā
āIām not saying you donāt, Iām just asking what else you like to do,ā she said gently, they both shuffled a little further down the line. Adrianās other hand drifted to his phone, ready to pull out their tickets.Ā
āI mean, you know me. I like being Vigilante, I like video games, and just being with my friends,ā he said, pausing for a moment before remembering Chris telling him that he should avoid talking about himself and only focus on her. āWhat about you?āĀ
Adrian couldnāt help but feel slightly proud when her smile turned somewhat shy and pleased as she began to tell Adrian about all the different things she liked to do. He smiled whenever she named something he didnāt know - it almost felt like a secret that he was even getting to see her outside of work like this. Like he was the only person in the office that was going to get to see her in this way, it was an intoxicating feeling.Ā
He lets her talk all the way through the ticket line and they get through without much hassle, Adrian only having to drop her hand to get his phone fully out and unlocked. He heavily regretted turning off Face ID at that moment, but it made his life a nightmare whenever he was in his suit and needed his phone.Ā
At the very least she had opened the floodgates on physical touch and with the bit of confidence heās gained Adrian followed another one of Chrisā suggestions - his hand on her lower back, guiding her through the crowd while still chattering on. He guides them over to the bar, nose scrunching at all the already intoxicated people.Ā
āLet me buy you a drink?ā He asked, leaning close to her ear as his eyes scanned the mass of people already standing at the barricade, the opening act just starting to set up.Ā
āThatās very kind, Ade. Thank you,ā she said and he smiled guiding them up the bar. She leaned against the bar waiting for the bartender, He leaned slightly against her, hand resting to make sure that no one could walk up behind her and Adrian to start talking to her. āDo you want anything?ā She asked, leaning her head back just enough to look at Adrian. He smiled, imaging himself upside down in her eyes.Ā
āNo, Iām okay, but seriously get whatever you want. Whatās your favorite drink?ā He asked but instead of a smile her brow furrows.Ā
āYouāre going to do the whole concert sober? A concert on a boat with no drinks?āĀ
āYes?āĀ
āAdrian, that sounds like hell! Youāre going to be surrounded by like 400 drunk people, thatās not going to be fun,ā she said looking genuinely concerned, holding up her finger to the bartender, asking for just a minute while Adrian pulled out his wallet.Ā
āIt will be fun, Iām here with you,ā he said simply before nodding and looking at the bartender. She frowned but seemed to accept Adrianās answer as she ordered herself a drink. Adrian lost himself for just a moment in watching her movements and the way she talked to the bartender with such kindness.Ā
It didnāt take much to snap him back to reality.Ā
It was of course being the opening band, with no warning, immediately started screaming into their mics. Itās not something Adrian would remotely call music, more reminding himself of the death metal Chris had shown him one time. If the music surprised her, Adrian doesnāt see it in any of her body language as she took a sip of her drink and turned towards him. He fought the urge to cringe as she led them closer to the stage, settling for a spot near the middle of the venue. Not super close to the crowd, but not fully out of the weeds of people.Ā
He watched her hold her drink up just for a second while looking at him before taking a sip, a smile wide on her face.Ā
āAdrian, Iām really glad you asked me here tonight!ā She shouted over the band and he gave her a tight smile.
āIām glad you said yes! Surprised me?ā He shouted back and she laughed.Ā
āSurprised you? Adrian I-ā She starts but theyāre interrupted by a few groups of people pushing their way through. She made a sound of discomfort that immediately has Adrian pushing back to get back to her side. āHey, Iām okay.ā She said immediately as Adrianās arms came around her. He felt tense, beyond on edge, and this is not how he wanted this night to go at all.Ā
āSorry,ā he apologized, still frowning but loosened his grip as her attention shifted back to stage. He watched her just for a second while she seemed to debate something internally until finally her attention came back to him.Ā
āNo need to apologize! How about you lead us further back?ā She yelled, āIāll follow you!āĀ
āAlright,ā he said, grabbing her hand so he at least would be able to make sure she was still with him. Heās barely made it five feet of navigating through people before she let out a gasp and Adrian whipped around, expecting to see someone with a weapon but instead he looks at her and finds her with a shocked look on her features.Ā
Sheās drenched in beer.Ā
Her own drink dropped to the ground as she stood there, almost paralyzed just waiting for something to happen next.Ā Ā
Adrian can barely hear the manās repeated apology clearly not meaning to have spilled it on her, but it doesnāt matter to him. Before he could think twice he stepped between them, anger boiling and all the noises from the crowd really not helping. The stupid fucking openers who were still screaming into their mics were not helping.Ā
Adrian was losing it and losing it fast.Ā
Heās partially aware that her hands are already on him, trying to pull him back down to her and heās aware the guy is still apologizing while Adrian gives him a hard look - essentially the same one he gives behind his mask when he finds someone committing a crime because to him thatās exactly what this is. It was a crime to hurt her in any fashion.Ā
āHey, letās go. I want to go Adrian,ā her words finally cut through his spiraling as he frowned.Ā
God he had royally fucked this. Exactly what Chris had warned against.Ā
She wanted to go and the headliners hadnāt even taken the stage.Ā
He felt himself deflate and that seemed to be enough for her to start pulling him back towards the entrance. People were still filling in and he felt a flood of shame fill him as they left. His one consolation is the fact that at the very least she was still holding his hand.Ā
However, once theyāre finally off the boat, the air finally cool, and the music barely a hum in the distance Adrian realized one very key piece of information.Ā
She had led them in the opposite direction of the car, they were now on the dock, still near the water but out of the bright lights and mess of people.Ā
āWhere are we going?ā He finally asked and instead of answering, she dropped his hand and moved to sit on the edge of the dock, her arms resting on the fence. Awkwardly, Adrian copied her, not nearly as graceful as her.Ā
āThis is much more my speed, personally.ā She said softly, turning to face him and he smiled. He shrugged off his jacket and put it around her arms, the cold ocean air causing goose bumps, but seeing her small smile made it all worth it. At least even if everything else went to shit he still got to give her his jacket like he was planning.Ā
āYeah, itās nice out here,ā he said gently, still feeling the weight of the evening on him. āI am sorry that tonight was such a waste and I couldnāt keep it together. I totally understand if you donāt want to do this again.āĀ
āWhat?ā She said with a confused laugh.Ā
āLike we didnāt even make it to the opener, that's how lame I am. I donāt expect that youād want to go out again just because I got you a singular drink that got ruined?āĀ
āAdrian, I only have a candy dish so youāll come talk to me. Do you know how hard it was to find individually wrapped Sour Patch Kids? I had to special order a giant bag!ā she blurted out.Ā
āWhat the fuck does that have to do with anything?ā he asked, tilting his head and she shook her head.Ā
āIt means, I like you. I like talking with you. I like spending time with you. This right here, sitting on the dock is more than enough for me. Hell, itās more fun to me than actually being on that boat!ā She said and Adrian blinked.Ā
āWait, does that mean you donāt need a cool atmosphere to like me?ā He asked and she laughed, knocking her shoulder into his.Ā
āI like you in any atmosphere Adrian. You couldāve invited me over to your moms house to play Mario Kart and I still wouldāve said yes and been so excited.āĀ
āHoly shit,ā he whispered and she smiled at him. āWait, does that mean I can kiss you? I really want to kiss you, but totally understand if Iām misreading this or moving too fast or if youāre just really not into kissing. Personally Iām not a huge fan of when people slap my ass. Not that itās-āĀ
He didnāt get to finish his speech before her lips came crashing into his. Heās quick to pull himself into the kiss, one hand flying to her cheek and the other to her waist to give her a small squeeze. He felt her smile into the kiss as her hands wrapped themselves around his neck, holding him firmly against herself. Their bodies lean awkwardly from their seated position.Ā
Itās then he found his thoughts bubbling once again and he needed to say something, he pulled back just for a second. He smiled as she chased his lips for another kiss. He gave in slightly as she pressed a more chaste kiss to his top lip and cupid's bow.Ā
āIāll buy you a new shirt since I got it ruined,ā he murmured against her lips. She pulled back sharply, laughing hard before leaning her forehead against his. Adrian instantly felt warmth spread through his body, he smiled as she still chuckled as she pulled him close, her warm breath fanning his cheek.Ā
pointed daniel molloy question repeated to demonstrate the issues of the narrator which are reflected in the story, welcome back "was it raining louis?"
Lestat's recollection of Detroit is honestly so fucking funny and definitely inaccurate at some parts
he's like "first, i took a piss in these eco-friendly urinals. yes, this is VERY IMPORTANT!"
"then a nonbinary vampire and her- i mean their- friend ALSO took huge pisses! she- i mean they- pissed hands-free with their incredibly strong pelvic floor muscles. yes, the vampire lestat respects pronouns, write that down."
"i always wash my hands after using the bathroom. even when i'm fucked up on LSD and ecstasy! even if the other people at the urinal didn't wash their hands! yes Daniel, this is VERY important to write down!"
"and then we had elevator sex so hot that the bellboy joined in!"
"i would have EASILY beat the Fang Gang normally, but you see, i did too many drugs and fucked too hard. it was the sex legs, i swear!"
joining the war on kids reading any book they want on the side of kids reading any book they want. simply you will be fine. it's even good to be confronted with things you don't understand and even find upsetting, uncomfortable and difficult. it's a surprise tool that will help you later.
literallyĀ ok so not a funny story but kind of funny?Ā when I was nine I encountered rape in a book and I was like hey mom whatās this meanĀ and she explained it and I was like oh. gross.Ā and then like two weeks later a girl on the bus abruptly disclosed her csa and we were all like ????? what ????Ā but I was like wait hang on thereās a word for that āļøš¤Ā and explained what it meant and that it was illegal and that you could talk to a teacher or my mom if it had happened to youĀ and everyone was like ohhhhh I see I see and very somberly comforted the girlĀ (she was safe she was removed from her home and living with my neighbor at the time so it wasnāt Urgent)
Can't stop thinking about how the only times we've seen Armand lose control over his facial expression is when he is being rejected, and how he tries to force a smile each time šš
Highlight of the episode has to be the unadulterated joy you get from Eric whenever Daniel is on screen. He was so happy and you could just feel it.
