First Iron Lung and now this...
At least SOMETHING is still worth a damn in 2026. Can't wait to see Backrooms.
Happy Pride.
In honor of our fabulous Mother Martha, start shit and throw bricks.

The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country.
Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth.
There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success. The fertile earth, the straight tree rows, the sturdy trunks, and the ripe fruit. And children dying of pellagra must die because a profit cannot be taken from an orange. And coroners must fill in the certificate- died of malnutrition- because the food must rot, must be forced to rot. The people come with nets to fish for potatoes in the river, and the guards hold them back; they come in rattling cars to get the dumped oranges, but the kerosene is sprayed. And they stand still and watch the potatoes float by, listen to the screaming pigs being killed in a ditch and covered with quick-lime, watch the mountains of oranges slop down to a putrefying ooze; and in the eyes of the people there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.
- John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath

I love when people ask "how did you learn this skill?" I just started, there's no secret. that's it. a vast majority of the time the only thing holding you back is your trepidation to start.
me when we start eating billionaires and i have to kill gomez addams
Gomez and Morticia, telling us where they store the spare guillotines so we can go after Jeff Bezos after we finish with them.
Look, I know we don't want to admit that our heroes can be flawed, but this isn't just people baselessly picking a rich person and saying they're a billionaire.
Don't hold back. Gomez will respect the revolutionary fire burning in your heart!
The Addams would bring the guillotines for the other billionaires, give away literally all their money and then still ASK for executions because it’s been so long since they had a good beheading in the family
honestly, you'd break his heart if you said you WEREN'T planning on sticking his head in a guillotine. morticia, too. they'd be upset at the special treatment, too, but mostly they really want to be executed gruesomely as they stare lovingly into each other's eyes as their heads are separated from their bodies, and we need to respect that.
Holding hands and making kissey faces at the each other as the guillotines come for their necks because they roll with each other that hard 😘
How many more plagues do you think we have to get through before someone gets the hint...?
Some of our favorite quotes from Artemis ii so far:
"Copy. Moon joy."
"I have two Microsoft Outlooks, and neither one of those are working."
"Houston, if you could give me about 20 new superlatives in the mission summary for tomorrow that will help out my vocabulary a little bit, that would be great. Thank you."
“If you’ve ever seen the top of the spotlight of the top of the Luxor at night in Vegas, this looks like what it wants to be when it grows up.”
"To all of you down there on Earth... we love you, from the moon. See you on the other side."
"We just went sci fi.
"It is so great to see Earth again. To Asia, Africa, and Oceania: we are looking back at you. We hear you can look up and see the moon right now. We see you too."
"We will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other."
“It’s a bright spot on the moon, and we would like to call it Carroll.” (The name of Commander Reid Wiseman's late wife)
"Amaze amaze amaze."
"I said that we do not leave Earth, but we choose it. And that is true."
"Christina has been sleeping head down in the middle of the vehicle, kind of like a bat"
"It's really fun to be floatin' around, it just makes me feel like a little kid."
"Trust us, you look amazing, you look beautiful."
"'Homo Sapiens' is all of us, no matter where you're from or what you look like. We're all one people."
"We're going to power cycle the toilet from the ground."
"I'm proud to call myself the Space Plumber."
"We were all eagerly awaiting the chorus." (After Mission Control cut off Pink Pony Club early when waking up the crew)
"Copy heart. Copy bracelet." (In response to Wiseman giving his daughters heart hands and showing them the bracelets they made him that he was wearing)
“Welcome back. We are still here. They are in space.”
"Copy. Bubble wrap nominal."
"We have rediscovered the chocolate snacks."
“The truth is, the moon really is its own body in the universe. It's not just a poster in the sky that goes by, it is a real place."
“We will build ships. We will visit again. We will construct science outposts. We will drive rovers, we will do radio astronomy.”
"I've seen a lot of new perspectives, but my perspective has not changed because I launched with the perspective that there is enough for all." (After being asked if they had a new view on humankind.)
"On behalf of all Canadians, we wanted some reassurances of your preferences for maple syrup over Nutella on your pancakes."
Randy, when I find you...
Non-writers never seem to understand the fact that characters have free will.
"you made them, just make them do what you want!"
I can't SUSAN.
Bold of you to assume I didn't want exactly this, Susan.
Thought crimes aren't real, telepaths don't exist, and even if they were and do, having your head constantly play "Fly me to the moon/Let me kick its fucking ass/Let me show you what I learned/In my moon jiu-jitsu class" on repeat while out and about in public isn't illegal
Halfway through the third rewrite of the first book (of 3, each about 500 pages, because I have zero chill) and I'm getting sick and tired of these people living in my head. Happily, once I get all these plotlines fixed and fat trimmed, it'll be ready for Alpha readers. So maybe by midsummer, if things keep going at this pace?
Huzzah.
Guys the textiles have me sobbing. There's so much love in this movie
Saving for later...
Insensitivity reader to make sure that your characters are ignorant assholes in the ways that make the most sense for the characterization you're trying to achieve
