Oh, right, the weird ones:

Hereâs me and my sister, before I moved out. Iâm told my appearance is unsettling, so apologies.
//ooc notes start here. First things first, this blog has nothing to do with wishmaker-astra, though I love the blog very much. Original post on that one here:
//Okay, Iâm going to post this purely because it honestly looks for all the world like I have two rp blogs. Astra Hoshi of absol-lutely is a
Interaction notes, because Astra seems really overpowered without clarification:
Pelipper mail, its variations, and magic anons can be avoided if I donât want to deal with it. IC, Astra knows protect and she will use it if her danger sense directs her.
To avoid her being overpowered, Astraâs danger sense is extremely fallible. She can fairly easily sense something immediately dangerous to her, but not what it is, which is why protect is her immediate reaction. Danger towards others is harder, and she needs to concentrate to tell who is the target. The gods and their chosens or hosts are hidden from her, along with magic anons, though their effects are not. For example, if Rayquaza tried to hit her with dragon ascent, sheâd get hit, but if Rayquaza picked up a boulder and dropped it on her head, sheâd sense the boulder. Her need for focus with danger towards others is a catch-all way for her to have not seen something coming. She can also be overwhelmed by her danger sense if too many people will be affected by the same thing (this is why she left hoenn).
Most importantly, this blog follows shinxverse rules (with permission). The two most important things from that are that A) the gods are uncommonly active in their regions and B) accidental hybridization via rituals/god powers is a thing that just happens sometimes. If still confused, she basically came from ORAS Hoenn but if the legendaries and mythicals were both active and unpredictable.
Now, lore notes:
Astraâs hybridization comes from her parents accidentally wishing on a jirachi while struggling with infertility, and jirachi made her wrong. There is no angst here, the hybridization itself is hard on her but its circumstances if discovered are no-stakes. Her parents are also good people, their relationship with her tops out at drama-stakes.
Astra has no link to jirachi, though this can change with blog interactions. Thus far jirachi made her, stuck her in fortree, and forgot about her.
Astra and her family worship jirachi, which led to the accidental wish. Their religion is highly spiritual and frowns upon proselytization.
Astra is wildly autistic because of the absol stuff. Humans canât naturally deal with the extra absol senses, so she got autism, and her words come out easier in pokespeech.
Trigger warning time:
Of course, this is an rp blog, everything here is unreality. As such, it will not tag unreality unless there is ic unreality occurring to allow everyone to participate. Otherwise, this blog may contain mentioned ableism, mental illness, panic attacks, fantasy religion, and some body dysmorphia. Always ask to tag: will follow the format of âtw ______â. It will not contain suicidal thoughts, religions resembling real major religions, intentional parental abuse (meaning the worst case is saying something they donât mean while angry), or anything remotely sexual (mun and muse are both sex-repulsed aroace). These topics may appear occasionally from reblogs or enter my inbox in asks, but never come from Astra or absol-lutely. Character arcs that I expect to have trigger warnings will have a character arc post noting these things beforehand. If thereâs something you need me to tag, let me know. Astra is generally low- to medium- stakes for any of her own posts, but may participate in other charactersâ high-stakes events.
I'll be real with you, anon, that is such a good question. You would think so, right? But no, they aren't actually wings, I just called them that because it's what they look like. Weirdly enough, it's mostly fur? Like, a mega absol can move them, just they're nowhere near dextrous enough to fly. Thus, no flying for me, sad.
Oh crud, I sent the scribbled version? Yeah, uh... don't worry about that one. That one wasn't natural, we didn't know that, and they had to rerelease the paper to remove all references to the dang thing. I guess that was the last version that I had saved to my computer. Sorry about that. There is no useful science in "one of the Teams did bad things to a Pikachu and we didn't know until later".
Does explain why it couldn't mega evolve at all though. Poor critter
Think that's a your universe specific book and section
True, probably. Let me see if⊠okay Birch just told me Iâm nuts but if I want to try to send the pdf to the multiverse, that probably doesnât break any our-universeâs-Hoenn laws. Here you go
<case study 1, âFloraâ, details a venu-treebel hybrid who mega evolved with no problem, into an odd hybrid between the two megas>
<case study 2, âTerreâ, a krooko-chomp hybrid, got about halfway through the process and then fainted, waking up with a revive and several lemonades>
<case study 3, âAkikoâ, describes a Hoenni teenager, half absol and half human, who âscreamed loudly throughout the process before expressing excitement that it worked. Akiko then lost her focus, returning to her normal formâ>
<case study 4, the chimera between both forms of raichu, is scribbled out>
So yeah, I was not the best at it. Turns out it hurts quite a lot, and wings are horrid about tearing holes in your shirt, but it is really cool while it lasts. Donât worry, I signed many consent forms and also was well aware of the risks when I tried it. My parents decided it was safer to do it with the Professor than waiting until I found a mega stone on my own and tried it in some abandoned mall somewhere.
Sorry Iâve been quiet lately. Itâs been a mix of a lot of things, but also a lot of paperwork. Getting my *first* mega stone was hard, but at least that one I didnât have to *import*.
Anyway, the Professor convinced a Kalosian university to lend him an absolite z for a week to document how I react to it, since Iâm the only known absol hybrid. Anyone read âThe Ties Between Species: Examining Mega Evolution in Hybrid Biologyâ by Birch and Sycamore? I was case study 3, âAkikoâ. Once they had proof of that, they signed off on letting me try it.
Late voting on power level thing: solid it depends.
The Wishmaker? Very powerful.
If it exists, Arceus? Very powerful.
Phione? Not very powerful.
Mew? Cool, but not very powerful.
Whereas most legendaries fall in between those two categories. The three in my home region, for example, have lots of power but not of the reality-bending variety.
@absol-lutely
Yo, welcome back. Been a while since I saw you. Hope you're doing well.
That said, assuming you consider all of the above mythical then based on phrasing? Do you have any examples of ones you consider legendary? Or are they all both?
They were on the Hoenni news, Iâm going to trust they exist
Some legendaries I assume exist -
Xerneas and Yveltal - something has to govern those concepts
Dialga, Palkia - same reasoning
Some things I donât consider legendaries that might be controversial -
Solgaleo, Lunala, etc. - those are just aliens to me
Whateverâs happening in Kitakami - those donât control anything???
So yeah. To me, mythicals are either *incredibly powerful* or mostly just immortal. Legendaries control something within the laws of the universe. Kitakami has its own rules I guess.
Not the reasoning I was expecting for assuming some stuff assume exists, but regardless does help calibrate my understanding of what you would classify things as.
That said, fun fact: the vast majority of those you listed aren't known or exist or not exist. Just a giant question mark. I'm one of a very few species most would classify as mythical and/or legendary known to exist, and I'm a 1/1 for my species here.
That said, I can say Nebby, the confirmed lunala here, is a giant goober.
Which, if any, do you consider me by the way? Ignoring my self identification anyways. Don't worry about that for the purposes of what you answer, you have my permission here since curious about how would classify without that complicating things. Unless, like, you can't.
If Iâm genuinely allowed to do some analysis here: Mythical who doesnât know how to use it yet.
I strongly believe you *could* be reality-bending. You clearly react to wishes more than zero, even if nothing happens, so my assumption is that if you knew what you were doing you could probably grant wishes. And granting wishes is reality-bending - at least assuming you wouldnât have to go bake the dang bread if someone wished for bread. Judging by the whole âdidnât used to be a jirachiâ thing, you sure donât *seem like* you have to abide by the rules of nature.
Cosmogs often evolve into lunalas. Humans just plain do not evolve into jirachis. Thus, reality-bending, and so, mythical.

âwhat are your pronounsâ i would honestly rather not have this interaction in any language which requires me to be gendered in the third person. I need a first person singular pronoun that conveys apathy towards the social construct that is gender. But they/them if you really must.
I have genuinely been using skitty noises in place of feminine pronouns on occasion in spoken conversations because I can, despite the beliefs of the Kalosian language police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please tell me you're at least conjugating them. I have no bias against meow/mrow/mrrp pronouns but I will confess I'd wince at meow/meow/meow pronouns.
I just use she/her because I couldnât care less about my pronouns and that one lets me wear dresses with minimum judgement, but honestly I love that. I *may* start using a complex gender and pronoun system unique to absol speech.
Of course, such a thing does not exist, at least in the Hoenni or Sinnohan absol societies Iâve met. But how many cis people have absols that they can speak with to prove that?
Edit from thinking about it: maybe 90% of absol Iâve met would just roll with it. We donât exactly question each other much. So, honestly, I think there are maybe 2 whole people in the world who would find out that I was making it up without finding my Rotomblr (or being my immediate family)
//Where is Astra during the Wishmade Sky? Wouldnât she be affected as a Jirachi construct herself? WellâŠ
[[posting video. video description: a dark shape with reflective red eyes can be seen in a dark room, next to another dark shape. with time, the camera focuses to show astra hugging fractal the piloswine. she growls in quiet pokespeech, and captions on the video read as follows: âmigraine. bad. sky. bad. scared.â]]
Oh, sure! For me itâs abomasnow. That feeling when you lean against a tree just outside Snowpoint and then it uses razor leaf on your back? Bad feeling. Iâm now afraid of abomasnow and also pine trees that look suspiciously abomasnow shaped.
I like Candiceâs, because she introduced me carefully and heâs a sweetie who likes when you sit down and brush out his shed needles. But any other abomasnow still freaks me out.
Also wild froslass for obvious reasons. But thatâs just common sense. So weâre going with abomasnow.
I spent all day yesterday cataloguing the differences between Gible scales in Rough Skin specimens vs Sand Veil specimens. You may ask what I have to show for it.
This may shock you . Rough Skin specimens have rougher scales.
Again thanking The Wishmaker that Chomps hatched with Sand Veil. Unexpected gible egg with Rough Skin would have been genuinely too much for me to deal with. Did you end up getting snagged on any of the scales, or did you manage to avoid that consistently frustrating fate?
Legally: only if youâre not also the trainer (though you could be registered as both)
Logistically: maybe. Youâd either need a registered ball or some other method to get off the court once fainted, since likely no one would be able to carry you off. Or youâd need to agree to something else that counts as a KO for you specifically.
Of course, youâd have to register a legal moveset, which currently appears to consist of Teleport and Future Sight. Then again, we have no concrete learnset data for Jirachi, so hey, you could probably register with just Bullet Punch and theyâd allow it.
Short answer: yep, if not also the trainer. Long answer: yep, but with a lot of paperwork first đ
Have I ever taken care of an absol? No. Did I meet entirely too many in the lead-up to The Hoenn Incident? Most certainly.
You know how all the legends mention one lone absol before everything goes wrong? This was so much worse that everyone was showing themselves - which genuinely terrified most of the full humans around the area.
(If youâre wondering, thereâs an instinctive truce when everyoneâs Disaster Sense starts flaring, so territory wasnât an issue. If we all know a crisis is coming, we arenât going to bicker over who gets to try and warn people, because that would be rather useless)
HYBRIDS+ADJACENT (OR WHATEVER TERM YOU PREFER) CAN YOU UNDERSTAND/"UNDERSTAND" POKEMON VOCALIZATIONS?
YES

NOT A HYBRID OR ADJACENT

Yes is for understanding it as something with complex content to be clear, and I mean something close to a full language level of information or more.
For the record: I can't. If there is anything more complex there in my universe for most pokemon (it's unclear what's going on with N, and shit like sapient pokemon that participate in human society are pretty unambiguous with language and, like, can just communicate with humans in other ways), I wouldn't know and would have to learn the hard way.
Yep, I can, and it feels the same as my growing up with both Hoenni and Unovan/Galarian. Of course, pokemon raised in fully-human households often donât say a ton. My purugly, Perhaps, was raised in one and still sometimes looks at me and says, approximately, âurururururâ. Thatâs what her household responded to! Doesnât mean it actually means anything complex.
[[a video is attached. perhaps is laying in the sun and vocalizing. anyone familiar with pokespeech will quickly realize that this is complete gibberish. it sounds exactly as described]]
The sheer number of accounts you know who have been in pokeballs or could go in pokeballs, Vic - this shouldnât be surprising by now. You were a banette that one time, you could have tested it yourself!
Cresselia, to my knowledge, not Lunala. But otherwise accurate. If you can get your hands on a lunar wing somehow, it couldnât hurt to try, since you can just put it elsewhere if it causes issues. Itâs thankfully not a permanent enchantment
