I just realized that Dabi basically got the Rei treatment but even worse somehow.

Stationary, vulnerable, where the doctors (& guards) around him will praise Endeavor to high heavens.

All that's missing is the reveal that Endeavor is funding the hospital and leaving a bowl of soba for Dabi to show how much he cares.

Thats something okay and it's a horrible truth for you to tell.

Dam both rei and touya having to go through the same treatment like a generational family curse that enji keeps haunting them with. I absolutely hate that!!

And to add onto that Rei isn't even fully free from her abuser since hori made her stay behind and take care of enji if I read the chapter right. I can't believe that touya is painfully and slowly dying while being basically emotionally tortured with enji allowing himself to do whatever and visit his son whenever and I bet he would have a lot of time since he basically has no one anymore.

Hori fumbled the bag in one of the worst ways humanely imaginable.

The todoroki family especially Rei and touya deserve so much better than this!!

This is fueling me to write a wasted character potential post on Dabi asap!!!

Hey so I know Toph can’t read in canon and like okay, checks out, makes sense, she’s blind and her parents sheltered her from everything so no one taught her to read okay. But I think if someone DID teach her she absolutely could learn. Pen tips leave indentations on paper. Toph can sense the tiniest contours on things, including ants in the dirt, so why not physical marks in paper? And the paper wouldn’t even need to be in view. Wouldn’t need to be facing her. Wouldn’t need to be OPEN. Just would have to be near enough with enough vibrations running through it for Toph to feel it out.

Like, imagine a post-series coup against Zuko being thwarted because the unopened, un-tampered-with, unintercepted letter correspondence between two conspirators was transported via a letter carrier boy who came within 20 feet of the Avatar’s earth bending teacher and she read it.
