“You always were the… friend I was… Proudest to… Ghh-”
How long has it been? Not too long, he was sure of that. After all he had seen everyone leaving the temple only days prior. While he was rather bored as what he assumed was a ghost, he had accepted this as his punishment for turning his anger towards the masses. What he didn’t expect though, was to be suddenly dragged from this place and find himself somewhere else completely with no warning. The most he got was a sudden flash of light, which he ended up closing his eyes for despite currently being dead.
Fernand opened his eyes, finding himself somewhere else completely. Confusion was on his face as he looked towards the girl that he could tell was clearly the summoner.
{FERNAND} —- “What is the meaning of this?”
The soldiers did not go unnoticed however, and he could tell that these people likely didn’t summon him with the best of intentions. Simply by judging by the looks on their faces and the fact that armed soldiers were walking towards him. The knight instictively got prepared to fight, and was actually surprised to find that he did have a weapon to defend himself with.
Well that’s certainly useful.
{FERNAND} —- “Explain. Now. Or I will not hesitate to cut you down.”
In response to Fernand’s demands, the soldiers brandished their weapons threateningly. However, closing her tome with both hands, Veronica quickly threw out another order, “Hold! Disregard my command and you’ll find yourselves put to your own blades.” The soldiers faltered, her wrath was not one to be tested and they knew it. One by one, they each lowered their arms.
After glancing over each of them, a hint of ire in her gaze, Veronica returned her attention to the man she had summoned, allowing her expression to ease.
“You are Fernand, are you not? I am Veronica, the ruling princess of the Emblian empire.” Stowing her tome, the girl now approached the man, herself, in an attempt to appear harmless, “I understand our first impressions may have been less than ideal, but I assure you I have summoned you here seeking naught but your aid.”
