you ppl are so dramatic. if you’re not on 911twt don’t speak on this situation bc oliver does not “regularly support us” he has a history being mean to his fans and then throwing a hissy fit and leaving twitter. he has every right to be upset but he actively searched out tweets he was not even mention by name in and then replied therefore setting his 80k followers/fans on a teenager. this is not new or surprising behavior and it’s honestly disgusting. if he was really that upset by it he could have blocked the account/dealt with this privately instead of replying and then deactivating therefore setting up an 18 YEAR OLD to be bullied and harassed by all of his stans. one joke on twitter is not harassment and he is a GROWN MAN. if he can’t handle one single joke then maybe he never should have come back to twitter.

first things first: neither ry nor oliver is responsible in this situation, ry is an 18 year old and oliver is a 30 year old grown man

oliver searched for that tweet. ry didn’t tag him. none of us were tagging him in our posts. he SEARCHED for it. and yeah celebs will look themselves up it’s normal, but instead of dming ry and being like “look i didn’t appreciate this joke, would you mind taking it down” and giving her the chance to apologise, he commented directly under her post causing a bunch of fans to attack her and her go private, and then make a big thread about it and deactivate

i’m new to the fandom but from what i’ve seen this isn’t the first time oliver has been mean to fans (he told a fan he found it annoying that they were just making sure he was drinking water, once again he wasn’t tagged in it) he is an adult, with a clearly non existent PR team who just came back to twitter and was planning on livetweeting the finale.

ry wasn’t the only one to send a tweet, her tweet was even a RT of someone else’s. oliver chose this specific tweet to comment under and even when it was made out that ry was clearly joking, the whole fandom started attacking her. oliver’s mental health is so important, as is ry’s as is anyone’s. he had taken a break off twitter to focus on that and CHOSE to come back for the finale. we were happy to have him back, we were joking about him queerbaiting bc it’s something he’s been afraid of doing in the past (from what i’ve heard).

all this is to say: please don’t attack ry and smack talk her over here when you don’t know the whole story. both could be seen to be in the wrong yes, but a celebrity should NOT be attacking fans online no matter the circumstances
