This was a lovely little thing to hop into after finishing last Summer after The Beekeeper's Picnic.

I spent a while debating whether Mycroft Holmes is a jam first or a cream first kind of scone eater.

Parent trap au where for whatever reason, once the twins meet, both parents decide to actually so this split parenting stuff properly....

Except for both are in a relationship with other people who are equally down to vibe with the twins so family trips keep being either all four of them or wrong pairings tm.

Eventually it starts being just the two "mums" and the two "dads" who figure out actually they have more in common than they thought....

And anyway everyone has different oh no im gay and in love with my exes partner moments and the twins are freaking out they got the wrong people in love! Eventually everyone confesses and oh fuck now how do we do the living situation??? The twins think theyre going to be separated but each new pair accidentally decided to move in the same direction and then all is right in the world again.

I legitimately adore the Granada series' version of Mycroft Holmes because he absolutely nails the tired-bitch-syndrome and complete introversion from the few appearances in the ACD canon, but you can also tell he actually loves his baby brother

Sherlock Holmes is far too social in his own way (and Noisy) for membership in the Diogenes club but you can easily see him just dropping in to chill occasionally when he's in a mood to be cats with Mycroft and just sit next to him while they congenially ignore one another

Im so mad my computer has stopped being able to run sherlock holmes chapter one, I want to play my silly game so bad and now I have to choose between waiting till I could maybe get a better computer to play myself or finding a good playthrough so I get the rest of the story now ;-;

I have so many thoughts on mycroft omg

At first I wasnt convinced ngl, the whole random spy chase introduction was so fun but I miss lazy old mycroft ngl. Same with some.of the bickering and the fact that Sherlock hates the diognes club (all these make sense for this version, its just something that always stood out to me in the original was that Sherlock was also a member tm and thats so interesting, but that definitely doesn't work for this version lmao)

However, that conversation near the end that sold me on this version ngl. Sherlock basically admitting that he misses mycroft, the "as you should" when they thank eachother, the work is so important to both of us just ahhhhh. Also the "little one" is such a fun alternative to the usual brother dear etc and I just love them tm.

Also I swear if they dont pay it off in the final problem - either mycroft isnt around and then is guilty af afterwards or mycroft is around exactly when he needs. Either that or id love a moment when John ends up with Mycrofts number (using sherlocks phone maybe?) And calls even when Sherlock refused to because theyre out of their depth. Id also love. Moment where Mycroft "fails" his job to save one of them, just the opposite of the "Work comes first" energy.

Anyway I cant wait for more of them and once greek interpreter is done I may even turn one or two of these ideas into fics lol
