-Jonathon and Will never had a single conversation. Joyce never talked to Jonathon either. The guy all about family spent most of his time with Steve.
-Nancy never had a single conversation with Steve. She was irritated or tempted by his constant leaning and posturing, but instead she told Jonathon how she felt about Steve, and Jonathon told Steve while they were strolling on another planet. So badass Nancy didn't get the chance to have any closure with that boy she loved kissing in the school bathroom until Barb died and everything changed. Jonathon got that instead.
-Will and El, once again, never had a conversation with each other. Beyond, "Max." "I'm here, Will" etc. So this twin/parallel mutual love for Mike thing they'd been dealing with the entire series? it didn't matter. They didn't have time for it. They had too many new or returning cast members to waste their time on it.
-We never found out what Vecna showed Will. Or how Will survived the supposed death of Vecna and the "MF" Or if Will still had abilities, since he was irrevocably changed.
-El and Max never had a moment alone. Their friendship, and what El did to save her, and how she felt when she couldn't find her? That was never addressed. There wasn't time. She had to hang out with...Will and Vickie instead? (El never got to talk to anyone but Mike, Hopper and Kali really)
-Mike stopped having ideas and making plans after Sorcerer. Joyce had a plan. Lucas and Erica had plans. Steve and Dustin had a plan. Mike just stood there not touching Will and asking for a flare gun. So he wasn't the leader. He wasn't honest with Will or El about his feelings. And his flare gun didn't deliver the killing blow. In the end, he wasn't even a paladin, or a very good friend because he sent Will to Vallaki (still not over that)
Bonus facts: A few things that were missing. Owens. The deputies. Any explanation about why there was a lab in the UD without them knowing about Vecna or that they were in a wormhole...did they know they were supposed to be in a wormhole? Any explanation about why El was the only one they were interested in. Any explanation about how the townspeople were cool with being in a military quarantine for 18 months. Any explanation about how Hopper got his job back, how Ted and Karen survived and if the rest of the Turnbow family ever made it out of that barn.

If you had 3 years and $500 million to make 1 season of a show (a show which you have previously worked on and created from your bare hands and made 4 phenomenal seasons before this) you should (at minimum) make a mediocre show which has some bits of good writing, the same overarching themes and core messages, even if the entire thing is overall considered mid.

It is not that hard to make a satisfying conclusion to a plot. Sure, there will always be some plot holes but your main plot shouldn't have any plot holes.

Is Robin's secret code from Stranger Things Season 3 a 2026 calendar cipher?
In the third season of the series, Robin Buckley cracked a secret Russian radio message that led the heroes to the Starcourt Mall underground. For a long time, we thought the code had served its purpose. But what if the Duffer Brothers built a hidden layer into it?
If you carefully break down each phrase from the cipher and map it onto a real calendar, the radio transmission turns into a eerily accurate timeline of 2026 events. Let's break down this phenomenon step by step.
1. "The week is long" — January 7th
The first part of the code gives us a starting point — exactly 7 days from the beginning of the year. January 7th became a significant date for the fandom: it was when the "long and heavy week" of waiting ended. Notably, around this time, Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna) appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show, dictating a mysterious message that once again set off a wave of fan theories.
2. "The silver cat feeds" — February 17th (Lunar New Year)
The next part of the phrase sounds absurd until we look at astronomy. In alchemy and many ancient cultures, silver is a symbol of the Moon. The phrase can be translated literally as: "The Moon consumes/eats."
In 2026, the new moon that marks the beginning of the Chinese (Lunar) New Year falls exactly on February 17th. A perfect astronomical coincidence with the "lunar" metal from the cipher.
3. "...when blue meets yellow in the west" — March 22nd
In Season 3, this pointed to the hands of the Starcourt clock, but on a global scale, it's pure geometry of nature.
Yellow is the Sun. Blue is the horizon line.
March 22nd is the Spring Equinox. It's the only day of the year when the sun sets exactly in the west at every point on Earth. Additionally, this is Nowruz (the Solar New Year), symbolizing the victory of light over the long darkness.
4. "A trip to China sounds nice..." — 2026, Year of the Fire Horse
What does China have to do with it? The connection to the Lunar New Year grows into a specific symbol. According to the Chinese calendar, 2026 is not just any Year of the Horse, but the Year of the Fire Horse, which occurs only once every 60 years and carries a powerful, destructive, and transformative energy. This is a major reference to the year in which the resolution unfolds.
5. The circle closes: The Horse, the "Indiana Flyer", and 185 days
This is where the Duffers' math gets truly chilling.
Let's remember how the code-breaking started in the first place? Steve Harrington heard music playing in the background of the radio transmission. It was the melody from an arcade machine shaped like a mechanical horse called the "Indiana Flyer."
The code began with a Horse. And the year it points to is the Year of the Horse.
Now let's connect the key numbers and story arcs:
- Take the starting point from the code — January 7th ("The week is long").
- Count exactly 185 days from this date. This is a crucial number for the series: it's exactly how long Mike went without seeing Will and El at the beginning of Season 4.
- If you add 185 days to January 7th, you get exactly July 11th.
July 11th is the anniversary of the world premiere of Stranger Things Season 1 and, by a striking coincidence, Horse Day.
Conclusion: The cipher deciphered by Robin perfectly describes the 2026 calendar: from the start in January ("The week is long"), through the Lunar New Year in February ("The silver cat"), and the equinox in March ("Blue and yellow in the west"), pointing to the Year of the Horse ("China") and looping everything back exactly 185 days later (the characters' separation period) to the date of July 11th.
the comic book Max shows to Eleven in s3 in early July, certainly before July 4th as we know was actually released on JULY 10th. mIt was also written by MINDY newell, which I found interesting
But Max had a comic from the future, specifically around the date July10-11 which is where a few other things fall
For example I have this huge theory about Eleven being Tharizdun, a very old and hidden dungeons and dragons god thats from old lore. This connects to the number 333 which just intrigued me because of El’s birthday.
El is said to be born JUNE 7th, and it’s noted that it was a premature birth. 33 days after her birthday given in canon, lands on July 10th!
year given is 85, but the time between dates is the same in 85 and 71

Add in that the WSQK radio continued to say on the last day

Season 5, Episode 8. The Byler scene at the radio tower starts exactly at 11 minutes and 7 seconds. Before that, there's a short black screen for a couple of seconds to fill the runtime and reach that specific point.

I worked with a theory that my friend sent me, I don't know the original author, sorry.
First, let's dive into the history of the Coca-Cola company. This is important. Why Coca-Cola? The Duffers signed a contract with the company and integrated it into the show as a pop culture reference — New Coke. The contract/partnership was announced on May 21, 2019 (7 freaking years ago). The collaboration took over a year to develop (meaning starting in 2018, why so long?). The idea itself was born at a meeting in 2017 when the Duffers jokingly suggested bringing back New Coke.
The Duffer Brothers figured out how Season 5 would end about 6-7 years ago, meaning in 2018-2019, around the time they were working on this collaboration.
Matt and Ross Duffer in a joint email interview for The New York Times, May 2019:
"It was one of the first ideas in our Season 3 brainstorm. It was the summer of '85, and when you talk about pop culture moments, New Coke was a really big deal. It would have been more bizarre to not include it.
We're not getting a revenue cut from any of this. The hope is that it just gets the show more exposure.
We did tell our production designer to make sure we never saw any Pepsi!"
Now let's move on to the historical part. In 1985, Coca-Cola was under serious pressure in the "cola wars": Pepsi was aggressively pushing its "Pepsi Challenge" ad campaign, where blind taste tests showed consumers preferred Pepsi's sweeter flavor. Coca-Cola's market share was steadily declining, and the company decided on a desperate move. On April 23, 1985, management announced they were replacing original Coca-Cola with "New Coke." This was the first recipe change in 99 years.
The public reaction was immediate and fierce. People saw it as a betrayal of a national icon and a part of their lives. The company's offices received up to 1,500-8,000 calls a day with complaints, and the total number of protest letters exceeded 40,000. Under public pressure, the company had to surrender. What does this give us? ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING: ALL THE ANSWERS AND THE RELEASE DATE.

Now let's look at the timeline of events:

February 8, 2026: The Super Bowl. Pepsi aired an ad where a polar bear (Coca-Cola's symbol) chooses Pepsi over Coke.
April 23, 2026: Scheduled release of Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Season 1.
July 11, 2026: Anniversary of the Stranger Things franchise. 10 years. + Day of the Horse. Finn said to pay attention to horses.
Between April 23 and July 11, there are exactly 79 days — how long New Coke lasted on the market. On April 23, the animated series comes out, just like the failed New Coke. THAT MEANS the Duffers understood in advance how lackluster the project would be — logically, like with the cola, they'll have to bring back the original. July 11th. 79 days.
The number 79 appears more than once. February 2 (the animated series release date announcement) and April 23 (the series itself) — there's also a gap of 79 days between those dates.
Two loops of 79 days each — that's pure Groundhog Day.
April 23, 2026 — Animated series (New Coke)
July 11, 2026 — Stranger Things 10th anniversary // the real finale (Coca-Cola Classic)
The head of Coca-Cola later said:

But that raises another question: What about the second season of the animated series? Its approximate release date is already known — it falls in October-December 2026.

The Duffers planted this back in 2019. Seven fucking years of torment. It all points to July 11th.
I know there’s only a few conformity gate people left with me, but for anyone out there still interested, I’ve compiled a list of every piece of evidence I’ve seen recently that points to the idea of more content coming soon, I posted it on Twitter but I’d like to show it here too.
If you’re totally off the conformity gate bus, that’s fine, but please don’t hate or harass because some people still believe it. I’m not trying to grasp at straws or get peoples hopes up falsely, I genuinely just see so much evidence that it feels statistically IMPOSSIBLE for any of this to be a coincidence anymore. Every day I am more sure of it as more things come out.
Both how little everything makes sense if it’s not true, combined with how much DOES make sense if it IS true, has convinced me that this isn’t over.
So here’s some of the evidence I’ve collected (and there’s SO MUCH MORE)
Warning, long post:
- The legal registrations of the last half of the episodes. That one lawyer looked at it and compared to previous seasons and it doesn’t match at all.
- The legal ‘out’ of how they technically didn’t charge anyone for the movie tickets because they were just ‘vouchers’
- The nearly no press after the finale, nearly no comments from cast, and no crew admissions even though the DNA’s should be ending and come on if the writing issues, production issues, filming issues etc really WERE as bad as they’re making it seem, you KNOW some crew member would be talking g about it by now
- It took double the length to film this season compared to any other season
- WAY higher budget for LESS content, LESS production quality?
- Both that it apparently took twice as long to write this season than the others (pointing to much more content, aligning with the budget increase and the filming time increase) AND just the fact that things they said about the writing timeline in the documentary vs everything else we’ve heard about writing timelines do NOT match up, the math DOESNT make sense- plus how the fuck would Netflix EVER let them start filming before the final script… and then EXPOSE that in a documentary?!?!?!
- The way Caleb said traitor and now that’s been scrubbed from the internet, Millie said meta and now it has too
- Steve saying he wants to live in forest hills which has only ever been the trailer park and was only nice in the NINETEEN FIFTIES
- Randy being the ONLY actor in this season to comment and he’s dismissing everything so hard so much so constantly. Going out of his way to. And in the show, his was the character that did that too
- Will references The Grail which is a movie that ends up breaking the fourth wall and it’s a documentary and they see the camera people and it all breaks down
- Still so many proofs of scenes that were cut / not shown (from max’s moms actors to the miwi CGI pics to the proof of the church filming etc) plus in late 2024 I think they claimed the 600 something hours of footage
- The amount of things that the cast said in interviews that straight up just DONT MAKE SENSE. like things that wouldn’t even make sense to lie about (like if they were just lying to hide they didn’t like the ending), lying about weirdly specific things
- For example Millie said ‘ every question she’s ever had about the show and the upside down got answered’ not only does that truly not make sense but in the actual finale it’s like they PURPOSEFULLY left SO many questions about EVERYTHING unanswered, especially the upside down.
- Caleb also gave us the word ‘Zenith’ and Zenith is a movie in which “ creates frustration and paranoia by chopping up its narrative…. It comes off as the director jerking the viewer around…. It’s an examination of the conspiracy fan psychology.” THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO US COME ON
- Script reading discrepancies- Charlie said he was in front of Noah and Finn and they both cried 20 minutes in. This does not match the footage they showed us. The white scripts versus the red scripts. Finn changing clothes mid video randomly, like they’re cutting together a bunch of unrelated footage to set a narrative.
- The duffers are answering questions in interviews more dumbly, dismissively, and vaguely than they ever have before, switching up the way they’ve always acted
- The fact that the documentary itself was just weirdly bad. The directing was weird the things they focused on were weird. The amount of time they spent on the duffers struggling with the writing and pointing out so many flaws that then never got fixed in the actual show. Why would they point out the flaws so clearly if it shows incompetence on their part unless they wanted us to notice those flaws? They focused on this more than they did on most of the major import scenes from this season too which immediately stood out to me as odd. And we think the Netflix execs, famously PERFECTIONISTIC AND ANAL, would allow ANY OF THIS, for Netflix’s BIGGEST PROJECT EVER??
- The fact that Netflix still has not made any official statement about this. In any other situation they would have. Every day they continue to not address it it feels less and less likely that this is a money making marketing ploy, because THE DOCUMENTARY IS OUT???? ALL THE STRANGER THINGS CONTENT IS OUT??? how would not addressing this make them more money besides keeping some people on the subscription a bit longer? That’s not a sufficient explanation to me. This is objectively odd behavior
- The ‘Mike wake up’ sign at the sponsored wrestling event perfectly matching the blank yellow sign in the background of the epilogue graduation (and what are the chances they’d leave something like that in the show anyway?)
- All the weird coincidences/changes/inconsistencies from the season of course- the dial color changing and them NOT changing it even though they changed Holly’s wardrobe mistake very quickly. It’s autumn leaves in the background at graduation even though it’s GRADUATION, it’s supposed to be SPRING. Will saying melvald’s milshakes, even though that’s not only obviously wrong but so specific to get wrong, something they so specifically showed us in TFS play. The vacuum at the graduation is one only sold in the 1950’s. Dustin calls the guy ‘a square’ even though that’s slang ONLY USED IN THE 50S AND WEIRD ANY OTHER TIME. All the characters specifically growing up to do things they’ve seemed they’d never want to do, like Robin wearing girly clothes and Nancy quitting her dream college and Max emulating her abusive brothers rage issues and Mike acting and dressing just like his father etc.
- The amount of parallels to movies that have said ‘this is the final one’ and then come out with MORE.
- The 11 tapes that were sent out to creators to decipher. The cursor flicker pattern decodes to ‘STILL HERE’. The audio pulse decodes to ‘VECNA LIVES’. The tape also gives hints to a timeline ‘needing to be reset’ and Eleven being missing from said timeline as an anomaly
- The fucking Morse code of the tape wall behind Robin in that one scene, spells out ‘U DID NOT STOP ME’ baby how could that possibly be a coincidence. Do you understand how low the probability of that happening is.
- The fact that all of this directly makes US Joyce Byers in season one, not being believed, looking for and holding onto obvious undeniable clues even though no one else believes us. Parallel to the fake Will Byers body
- This also makes US the children in Henry’s house in his mind. Being surrounded by an illusion and only some see how none of it is real. Trying to convince the others. Not being able to find the way out
- It also makes US Lucas- “is this all just Vecna messing with us again?” “I don’t know about you guys but I don’t believe in coincidences, not anymore”.
- The documentary ends with Finn in the light with upside down, looking particles around him, saying “something is definitely coming” which is in itself, very telling that they would end on those words and from Finn’s mouth especially, but now add to it that those words are the first ever said in the first episode of Stranger Things in season 1- “something is coming, something hungry for blood” WHAT ARE THE ODDS????
- Why the FUCK did Jimmy Fallon randomly in the middle of Maya talking look directly at the camera and say “meta” then look back and not explain it or acknowledge he did it at all. He’s in on it I swear
- Jaime saying “tomorrow it begins” and “eleven lives” on the show. No explanation of course
- The finale’s opening being a shorter length than any opening of any episode. When they cut to the epilogue it begins with NO YEAR and a heartbeat and a clock ticking. When it becomes Nov 6 earlier on, they show NOVEMBER 6 but again, no year. Before this season they have always shown the year when putting dates on the screen
That was delicious. I genuinely don't think I've seen anyone line up those scene parallels so well before. This was a perfect snapshot of every branch, rock, and mattress they hit on their way down
ok so ik the names lwg/cg have meanings but I don’t think it’ll work for my theory; this theory is pretty El-centric but to me,in my opinion, after hours of pondering, it made the most sense. So here goes :
Brenner has kept El in the lab ever since the Nina project. What she is seeing is just like what Brenner made her see when she relieved her Hawkins lab memories in the rainbow room. None of it is real. Brenner is keeping her inside here so that she can train her mind, and fight Henry/Vecna mentally.
Why?
Brenner is doing this so he can see how she’ll fight Henry and thus seeing how she will try to end Henry, and what Brenner can do to stop her because we all know how fascinated Brenner was with Henry (tfs) and how useful someone like Henry is to Brenner. Henry is basically a biological weapon now. Ofc he’ll do anything and everything to find him,SAFE and alive.
And that is why he made El think he died, and why everything from Nina project onwards IS STILL the Nina project. It’s all an illusion, a brain exercise for El and an experiment for Brenner. Everything we’ve seen,every crazy fight, was all fake. To see every different way El would fight/take on Henry with her crew. And thus helping Brenner figure out how to put a stop to it and bring his most valuable asset (Henry) back.
so if Brenner is doing all that to find Henry…where actually IS he? Well I suppose Henry,now Vecna, is still hiding. Planning. Possibly killing..? I think the killings before the Nina Project are real and did happen in real life but the kills after, Brenner faked for Eleven. Vecna is probably killing because the mind flayer is out for blood like it was in tfs,this time it wants more and more humans not tiny animals. I think Vecna is just killing,that’s it. Because Henry’s speech that he gave to El in the rainbow room (which is when the mf was fully controlling him) was about how bad structure/schedules/day to day life is. How stupid and useless it is. And no matter how hard Henry tries to remake a world, structure and schedules etc are still going to exist. So I think the mind flayer just wants total destruction. Nothing to exist anymore. Not a new world. And that’s what Vecna is doing,while fake Vecna that Brenner made for El is making up all this dumb stuff about gates and stuff, making the stakes higher and making it more confusing for El so that she comes out a stronger fighter. But the real mf/Vecna is much more simpler than that.
now going back to birthdaygate.
birthdaygate and the banners + the bullies (carlton) graduating with the party when their varsity jackets clearly had a big “86’” slapped on the side (class of 86), I think it’s all just dates /numbers/integers mixed up in Brenner’s code. Making the simulated world messy/all over the place.
this is maybe one of my weaker theories…? But it made the most sense to me so I decided to post it lol.
I find it interesting that Robin is the only "significant" character introduced in a new season that hasn't been killed in that same season. Robin was introduced in the season after Bob's death. I don't include Murray (in S2) because I don't think he is as relevant but who knows..he may actually be because I also think he is a suspicious character as well. We see how Robin instantly fits in the group and is portrayed as nerdy and intelligent although I wonder why the latter wasn't leaned on more in the following seasons. I don't know why but I don't believe she is actually fluent in four languages. She is quite a mysterious character. She mentions her mom quite often but we never get to see her or know more about her. One thing we can guess is that she MAY have not been the best mother as Robin says her mother wasn't fond of her talking. It's a pity because I do think knowing more about her mother would have added to her character.
Similarities between these characters
I saw this comment on "Threat Level Mom-Night"'s post on Tiktok. She is really good. This comment makes a lot of sense to me. Remember in season 2 when "Bob the Brain" helps them find Hopper and also helps them escape from the lab because he knew BASIC - a programming language? Well, in season 3 we see that level of intelligence with Robin when she translates and deciphers the Russian code which later "saves" them. In season 4, we see her use her wits and computer skills to figure out Eddie's location. Why is it that she has a new skill every season? How did she become Rocking Robin? It was never explained how she knew how to work the station. The WSQK station is another thing I doubt but I digress. Let's take a look at this......
Bob is the radio master. The president of the AV club. Interesting that we see her as the "radio master" after S4 where it is theorised that they are all flayed and Vecna/MF is recycling memories. Also, In S5 E1, we see Robin using the squawk to show affection to Vickie. It could be a parallel to Creelby(bobgate)...idk I'm just spitballing.
Extra: The yellow and blue arrows points at "W" and "M" respectively.....Will and Mike. I'm sure a number of us are on board and/or in love with bobgate thanks to absolutely phenomenal theories by @cara-ti-amo
Their speeches to Will
There is a commonality between their speeches to Will. They meant well and it was good advice but it wasn't effective because it didn't apply to Will in those situations. I hope this intrigues you lot as much as it did me. Let's dissect them....

These two conversations are intriguing. You could absolutely interpret Bob's speech as rejecting queerness and Robin's speech as accepting queerness but in context, these speeches don't help or apply to Will at those moments. Bob's speech was about facing your fears head on but the MF acts as a metaphor for homophobia. Liberation necessitates destroying it not giving in to it. Bob's speech got him possessed and Robin's speech was not properly timed though necessary. If I recall correctly, Will asked Robin how one should know when a potential partner would want to date before the speech. A self acceptance speech is usually given before that no? We see Will realising that there may be a chance. (This could also prove that this season is out of order). Check out @upsidedownlurker's theories.
Robin mentions an 8mm film reel. I find this interesting because it wasn't necessarily all the rage during her time which I deduce should be around the late 70s. This type of film reel was very popular in the 50s. Bob would have used it.
If Robin is Bob, it would explain the terminologies she spams this season. "Maybe you're a receiver". "You jacked right into the goddamn control centre" "Let's say your head is an antenna.....Vecna uses the MF particles as radio waves....the signal comes through clear as day". Bob, the Radio Master!
Oh! I just remembered that Bob said it was easier to talk to Will than Jonathan just like how Robin is very comfortable talking to Will about her life. They have an understanding. Also with the theory that Will is Henry/Vecna this season....hmmm. It could also confirm the theory that Mike was actually jealous of Robin in S5. Rant: I wonder if Robin's conversation could actually mean that Robin (Bob) was in love with Tammy (Henry) but then thought that she (he) fell in love with Steve the Hair Harrington (Patty) which we see may not be the case as bobgate theories suggest that the play could be manipulated by the MF. Maybe that was the easy way out for Bob...to think that Henry actually was in love with Patty. It would explain why Tammy haunted the show like a damn ghost...like Mr Baldo to Bob. It pains me to say but I haven't watched TFS yet so bear with me. Maybe Henry saved him by succumbing to the MF's influence. I'm hopeful!
Conclusion
In S5 E4, Vecna tells Will that some minds belong in his. Well...what if he brought Bob into his mind when he died in S2 and somehow was placed in Robin's just like the comment above said. Idk...maybe it's a reach. Though, I would say that if it was true and he really attempted this, then he wanted Bob to be with him forever in his mind. It's sadly poetic. Well, we'll see soon enough. I hope this makes sense.
