              There’s tension in his shoulders, but it’s the kind that feels amazing, the kind               that makes the hairs stand up on his arms and thighs, like lightning just struck.               The way her jewelry clinks and jingles keeps his eyes rapt on her, though it’s               not usually his style to look at the camera right on. His photographers don’t               usually do this to him, though; get him all RILED.

She was going to kill Riley for making her sit through the whole thing. Nani had promised herself, when she moved, that she would take risks, and say yes to new things, and her friends completely took advantage of it. Now she was hiding in the corner of a bar, nursing her first drink, and hoping none of the….performers would see her. Saying yes to things meant stepping out of comfort zones, but she couldn’t say yes if no one asked.

               Mike’s been doing this job long enough to recognize when someone doesn’t                want to be here. The way she has herself tucked into a corner, clinging to                that drink glass like it’s LIFELINE is a dead giveaway. If he had to take a                guess, he’d say she was dragged here by one of the regulars. People didn’t                just come in off the streets to place like this.

             “Look, I can tell you’re uncomfortable--- let me get you a drink on the house,              and I’ll make sure the boys don’t bother you, okay?”
