Losing my mind over this article

Second: It hurts to be told you shouldn't exist. But you know what also hurts just as much if not more? Me not getting to enjoy Dog Kid University: The Game.

You see, I'm entirely unique in that Dog Kid University was important to me in my youth. Without Dog Kid University, I wouldn't have learned that lying is bad and you should always stick by your friends. These are lessons I could have only learned from one specific set of books in one specific book series. I think of Dog Kid University every time I don't cut off someone in line at the supermarket or swear at my general practitioner. The moral training I received from an entertainment IP is part of the rich fabric that makes up my existence as the main character of reality.

Third: Plus, if I don't support Dog Kid University: The Game, I'm actively not supporting a hardworking group of game developers. This is a statement that would only make sense if I bought every video game ever made, but I'm still going to say it with a straight face. Do you really want to hurt the people who were already paid for working on this game? Just because an extremely powerful multimillionaire wants a group of people to not exist? Come on, now. You're willing to drive Ford cars even though Henry Ford was antisemitic. The fact he's been dead for almost 80 years while the creator of Dog Kid University is still alive and saying these things has no bearing on my argument.

Fourth: To be clear, I respect all people. I respect groups who are me and groups who are not me. But if I'm going to respect all people, that also means respecting people who want other people to die out and disappear. Right? Maybe the real oppressors here are the ones with a higher rate of suicide and being murdered. Have you ever thought of that? I bet you haven't, because you're in a bubble, which is something I say when other people think my self-justifications are stupid.

mods add a flair for AI art

user makes a post calling out that flair, and suggesting that AI art should be banned from the sub

comments are filled with people agreeing with the OP... and one (1) mod vehemently disagreeing and defending the decision to keep AI art

said mod locks the comments on the post, pins their own comment addressing the drama (which starts with "Meowdy"), and basically tells everyone to shut the hell up and that theyre keeping AI art on the sub because theres nothing wrong with it

mod makes a post on another balatro romance/nsfw sub that they mod, clarifying the rules - and casually throwing in a mention that AI art is allowed in that sub, right in the middle. everyone in the comments disagrees. the mod doesnt listen

someone makes a poll on the main subreddit asking if people want AI art to be banned. the poll is overwhelmingly in support of the ban - before its deleted by that same mod

mod makes another statement claiming that they reached out to playstack (the publishers of balatro) who said they were completely fine with and endorsed AI art on the subreddit

*localThunk* (the developer/creator of balatro) makes a post that basically goes. No we never said that. No I don't endorse AI art at all. playstack also comments on that post clarifying that they never told the mod that they endorse AI art, just that they're leaving enforcement of the sub rules up to the mods

the mod just completely made all that shit up

I think my favorite part of Magic by Pilot besides it being a certified banger is how the album art looks like they're all being softly strangled

shoutout to the guy in charge of the train station at my hometown, who doesn’t limit himself to announcing trains but also:

comments on interesting birds he sees on the platform

gives completely unofficial weather reports on what he thinks the day is going to be like

refers to very crowded trains as ‘friendly trains’

regularly congratulates everyone on having gotten up on time on Monday mornings

basically seems to use the tannoy system to amuse himself and try and brighten up everyone’s morning commute

refers to himself as ‘the fat controller’
