The world outside Florem was a strange place. As a hooded figure slowly warded her way through the marketplace, she took in a deep breath. If she had any spit to swallow, she would, but her mouth was about as dry as the desert around her.

Who knew a place could be this hot?

She needed water, and kindly stranger had told her there was some on the other side of town, if she could afford it. A hand gripped the bag at her side tightly. She had enough for her other needs, even a stay at the inn if needed. She as sure she could afford a small supply of water.

That is, until a man bumped into her. She was quick to draw back, the physical contact more than unwelcome. While the girl’s concentration had been just about broken, the man who’d bumped into her stood steady on his course. The only time he remotely turned as to shout at the girl in anger.

“Hey! Watch where you’re going, stranger!”

Her body tensed immediately at his tone. Of course by the time she got up the courage to apologize, he was gone. Lost in the crowd just as she had been moments before.

So, with a slight flicker of fear on her features, she went on her way.

She really hoped she could afford that water. A hand went to her back again to give it a small squeeze. Yet, when it did, all it hit was air.

Wh-what?!

“I’ve been robbed!”

“Sucker.” He sneered to himself as he was on his way to elsewhere. His clothes blended right on in the marketplace. It didn’t take that long for him to slip in between the cracks of Anchiem. Jackal eagerly looked at the contents of his prize. It wasn’t much. Just enough for a bag of water. And now he felt bad, a sense of guilt was wallowing in his gut. But he shouldn’t care, right? It was just a stranger in this world, and it’s a part of life. He’s a runt himself and has to make a living. Well, he certainly didn’t need this. Considering he’s technically working for the ‘doochy’. “Tch.” Jackal put his hands up in the air after he paced in an alleyway for a moment. “AUGH FINE.”  Then Jackal went off to find the bag’s owner.

The owner of the bag, meanwhile, was searching everywhere for her thief. She pushed through the crowd, eyes wide and frantic as she scanned the area.

He had to be here somewhere.

She couldn't lose that money, that's all she had.

If she didn't run from fights this wouldn't be an issue...

She shook her head. Now wasn't the time to contemplate her life choices. Instead she continued her search until a yell rang out, just slightly over the crowd's volume.

"AUGH, FINE!"

She flinched. There was no doubt. That was the man she heard scold her only a moment ago. She bit her lip, and overcoming her moment's hesitation, slipped back into the crowd.

After that, she made her way through the mass of people to where she heard the yell. The thing was, she didn't account for the idea that the thief was moving towards her as well.

Her eyes glued to the ground, she's later admit she wasn't looking where she was going. When they crossed ways, it was exactly how they met. She bumped right into him, head on. The collision forced her back a mass of steps, and she had an apology at the ready before she even snapped her head up to look at who she collided with.

When she did see, she held her tongue.

"You!"

It’s hot. Well that’s nothing new, isn’t it? With hands raised in the air, wrapped around his head and poking his shoulders; the thief took a stroll on the streets of Anchiem. His golden eyes scanned the random passerbys in the marketplace. Most were common folk he was accustomed to seeing, and knew a bit better than to attempt to swipe their belongings right in front of their eyes. He didn’t want to have good ol’ tick tock reprimanding him over causing a scene again, or even Mr. mustachio complaining about his habits either and how its bad for business. Worst, is if he had the chief give him a proper scolding; which generally meant he would go longer without water.And generally tiny skirmishes with him using that magic mambo jumbo voodoo crap. No more freezing sparkles then bursts of fire for this guy, please. Anchiem had its dirty secrets. And Jackal knew a few of them. The system was corrupted, people were suffering and no one did anything about it,and the vestal was apparently this evil witch who did ‘terrible things’. Honestly, he wasn’t afraid of no girl. Well. Or so he thought.They are kind of weird.  Then he finally found a target. It wasn’t some civilian from here, but obviously a stranger- a newcomer. So the thief waltzed right on over and ‘accidentally’ bumped into the person, quickly grabbing a small bag that was on their waist and not secured tightly. Sucker. “Hey watch where you’re going, stranger!” He let out an yell, a howl perhaps. He was very much like the namesake he had given himself. The Jackal.  The Jackal shot a small glare under his hood to the stranger and then walked right on off to the marketplace, doing his best to blend right on in.

I don’t roleplay. At least, not anymore. I have several blogs, some of which have a decent following like this one. Yet, I’ve almost never had a partner that actually bothers to do their entire thread with me. They always drop without warning, and then I’m alone again. No one talks to me unless I start it up first. No one wants to thread with me unless I ask, and even then, like I said, I’m usually left hanging.

I’m a good writer. I will never give up that fact. But that’s not what people want in the community. Whatever it is, it’s not something I have. All I’ve ever felt like on here is a waste and a bother.

I wrote a 20 page bio for my character in Ouran. I wrote a 1 page summery so that people wouldn’t have to read it all to thread with me. I made a beautiful theme, and talked to people about threading. I wrote starters.

But, to quote Undertale: Nobody came. The people I talked to never responded, and some assured me they’d reply. But they never did.

At what point does that make me feel valued?

If you need encouragement to keep writing, don’t make a blog on tumblr. It’ll be the death of you. Of course, unless you also know how to code and can make pretty graphics as well. As I’ve learned from the Ouran community, that gets more friends, followers, and people that actually care for you than writing ever will.

A rp secret Santa.

This can go two ways.

Canon characters: You write once a day. You just get on, and write a paragraph or so of a story involving your muse. On Christmas Day, you get the name of your partner, and write a paragraph at least, somehow involving them in your story. Your partner does the same. Suddenly you have two well developed plots and a fantastic thread ahead of you. The catch? You don’t know who your partner is beforehand, and this partner is someone you’ve never threaded with before. You get a new partner and friend for Christmas.

OCs: On the first day, you’re given a fandom. You can either make an entirely new OC or use one you have before. The same thing goes. You write once a day, though you have more to do. This is someone who’s never interacted with your character. You’re to introduce them, develop them, and introduce/develop a plot centering around them. On the last day, the same thing occurs. You get your new partner’s URL, who’s either made or developed an OC especially for you, and you now have a new partner and friend.

Also: for OCs, if you want to do a fandomless one, you may. But you’d have to describe the character’s home universe in vague terms, like whether magic is in this universe, or

How the process would work is this:

You’d send in:

• the fandoms you’d prefer to write for. Make sure it’s something you’ll be dedicated to.

• the level of writing skill you want within your partner.

• whether you’re OC or canon. If canon, what character you are.

•I’m debating on matching canon and OCs together(if people express interest I will), so if that’s the case, whether you want your partner to be canon or OC.

After matching you with someone, I’d send you both your common fandom. Your writing phase would be every day from December 1-24.

You’d get your partner’s URL on Christmas Day, EST.

The girl flashed a smile in return. “I came of my own accord. I don’t see people very often and I figured this a nice chance to observe. Plus free food isn’t that bad.” She gave a small laugh. “I’m Adeline.”

"A pleasure to meet you." Agnes held a hand out for the other to shake, a smile on her features. And free food is certainly a nice bonus.. I just wish there were more vegan options." She shrugged, fiddling with a feather on her costume. "Are you having fun?"

The girl stared at her hand a moment, a tad unsure what to do. "It's um...a bit uncomfortable to be honest. I'm not much of a people person." Eventually she attempted to shake her hand. "Nice to meet you, though."

A slightly shorter girl clothed it what seemed like a hood and small lavender dress walked up next to her. “Isn’t there?” She was dressed up in nothing aside from her black mask upon her face, covering the top half.

"What brings you here?" The dark haired girl turned to the other, a warm, inviting smile on her features. "I got dragged her by one of my friends; Ringabel can’t ignore a party invite."

The vestal, dresed in a flowing white dress, feathered wings pinned to her back, bit at her lower lip nervously as she glanced around the room at all the costumed dancers. “Wow.” She murmured softly, eyes wide, “There’s so much going on.”

Adeline gave a slight nod. They quickly advanced forward. "What's your world like?" She asked absentmindedly.

ANA let her cores gather all kinds of data on how to fight in this world. She chewed her lips a bit before jabbing again, saying “Brave!” She could feel her energy drop a bit as she attacked the guard again.

Adeline gave a sigh of relief as the guard fell over and disintegrated. "Good Job." She said, walking over to ANA. "I don't think I could have done better."

Adeline had known she had gone the wrong way. That light, that near blinding gleam, it was far to bright to be a city. When the fog in the miasma woods thinned, Adeline had decided to make the trek to Anchiem. Unfortunately, while the monsters were weaker, so was Adeline’s…

Adeline turned around in a whir. “Wh-what kinds of monsters are these?!” She looked all around her, the robots surrounding. As the boy landed, she backed up a step. She quickly got into a battle stance. She ignored the boy’s question, her sword suddenly lighting the brilliant red of a flame. “Who are you?”

"Monsters?" The red head snorted."Lady you need to get out more." he said watching as she took a fighting stance, grate for once could he run into some one who didn’t know how to fight? just this once?

"There robots, And i am Jack spicer, evil boy genius, ans the guy who is gonna take that thing from yup." He said with a snap of his fingers."Jack bots! Attack!"

Adeline sliced at any bot that came near her. Despite being an inexperienced fighter, fire melted metal, so her sword went through them like butter. Fear could be seen in her eyes, though. Adeline isn’t exactly brave.

Jack watched with an irritated expression, letting out a long sigh as his bots were demolished.” Come one! cant somebody not use some freaky element! honestly all i ask for is one week and defenseless human! is that to much to ask for!” He whined, bending down to pick up some of his bots.” Seriously.”

Adeline held the sword to his neck. “What makes you think you’re getting out of this alive?”

Jacks hands flew up at that, the robot pieces falling to the floor in the process.”Whoa! Whoa Chill! N-No harm no foul right?” He gulped, eyes darting from her sword to her.

"Why did you want this so badly?" Adeline pressed the sword closer, holding up the necklace she'd found.

Adeline gave a small huff, “don’t worry about it.” She looked down, rummaging through her bag. “Lets see…I should have one left…” She took out a leafy, dark green plant. After pulling ANA out of the flowers, she dusted the girl off, careful to make sure no dust got to her...

The two girls hid behind a rock (or rather adeline pulled ANA there and told her to hush up) as a guard past. The second Adeline took a step, though, the guard suddenly saw them. The guard was extremely pale, with a red cap and striped shirt. They attempted to jab Adeline with her spear, but she managed to dodge. "Brave! Brave! Brave! Fire!" After that she swiped at the guard three times, one of which she was able to dodge. She was badly burned but still standing.
