i've also struggled with ed behaviour, trauma, suicide, and a sh addicition, so i'll talk about that, but only in a recovery focused way.
DNI:
bc of my mental health issues, my only dni is ass holes, people without nuance, and people who actively post about eds, sh, suicide, or trauma in a not recovery way (you deserve better but i cannot help
you)

oki, i think thats all, this is so long sry (lol)
thank you so much for reading,
i hope you have the loveliest of lovely days <3
i think people miss how much the place some one lives plays a roll into how sever their condition is. for example, i'm a "normal weight", come from a background of relative wealth, live in a cool envitoment, considered active, and also have accsess to transport that doesnt include physical activity. becuase of this, my pots and ncs (2 of my more disabling conditions) whike having moderatly sever symptoms, dont hugely impact my life, and i was able to get medical treatment relatively quickly. for example, though i faint more frequently than most people, i have certain accommodations (like electrolytes, vns, crutches, shower chairs ect) that cost a lot of money, but help me function. i also live in the suburbs of a cool environment, meaning that i dont have to walk very much. i was in london for a summer trip, and it struck me how much more disabling my conditions woukd be if i was in a big city. its much warmer, much more walking, the paths are less even, ect. even if someone had the same or better symptoms to me, simply living in such an environment would make thise symptoms far more disabling. i feel like people should sort conditions by how sever the symptoms and how much it impacts their daily life, like mine i would say is moderatly sever in symptoms, but with accomadations minorly-moderatly affects by life.
one thing i dont think a lot of people get is that there is no way to be accessible to everyone. for instance, some people's accommodations hurt other people. for example, im in a wheelchair accessible hotel room right now, which means that they have a really big shower but no built in shower chair. i need shower chair becuase without them, as exampled by my latest shower, my avg heart rate is over 120. another example of this are those bumps that are at the end of sidewalks, so people who need tactile warnings are aware the street is going to end. one time, when i was in an insane amount of pain and in a wheel chair, i went over them and the pain was excruciating becuase of how bumpy things were. i see a lot of people getting angry at others for not being "accessible enough" but you literally cannot accommodate everyone, and by accomadating some you exclude others. bothe people have needs, but you cant always accommodate everyone. i also see people getting angry that people dont always put image descriptions, without regaurd to wether that person posting nas the ability to do so despite their conditions. basically, no one can accomadate everyone, and i think thats an important thing to understand
queer friendships are so much better than straight ones because you can just flirt all the time and its normal. if you do that with a straight friend theyre just like "haha dude wtf are you doing" and its not the same
