I Know why the ending was the way that it was.

I know why the arcs concluded the way that they did.

I do not know how i would have done it differently.

I didn't like it.

Elaborating a bit.

The ending is not bad.

it is in fact A GOOD ENDING. I've told the people that I know and have talked about it the most with that I think this is The Correct Ending.

There is just a particular kind of "bite" to the lack of an immediately visible happy ending for Jax that I feel very....not happy with. even if I understand that Jax's arc was going to end the way it did because she, he, whichever pronoun you ascribe to, is filled entirely with self loathing, and by the time they realized what was gonna happen it would be too late. That was, in my understanding of things as a writer, the one conclusion that needed to happen. and anything less would have been an ending that would make it feel LESS.

and I guess on some level my feeling bad is the intended reaction I am meant to be happening.

Maybe it's my personal experienced coating it too. I have more rewatches to do.
