This is not a criticism of the joke being made (it is a good joke), but envy is about the desire of wanting what someone else has.
There are two implied variables: What is desired, and Who possesses it. If that Who variable is empty, the conditions for envy aren’t met. Envy equals false.
Note: Someone possessing the desired thing isn’t enough. The person desiring the thing must also have Who possesses What in mind.
It’s the difference between someone seeing a loose nail and wanting a hammer to fix it, and someone seeing a loose nail and wanting a neighbor’s hammer to fix it.
