I like the idea that Fig, specifically, always stands on Fabian's blind-side. not only cuz she's just very protective of her friends, but also cuz she's never quiet so Fabian always knows she's there without having to see her. she's always rambling, humming a tune, thumbing idly at her bass, chains and jewelry jingling and boots thunking as she walks

tracker o’shaughnessy and max durden would lowkey make really good friends.

imagine a seacaster manor house party while tracker is in town and while she’s in the basement cooling down from the rowdy night max offers a hit and despite meeting each other for the first time, they got along so well high out of their minds that they just end up besties.

she also quickly befriended zayn sophomore year when they all moved into mordred

one of my favorite moments on fhjy is when the bad kids are meeting kipperlilly for the first time and adaine introduces herself and kipperlilly says"i know who you are" to which adaine, without missing a beat, says "of course you do."

Riz didnt have any friends as a kid except Penny so in summer while school was out he'd sometimes go down to the riverbank, line up cans on an old log, and practice hitting them with a rock thrown from his slingshot.

It was an old fashioned slingshot, made from a couple old bootlaces and a scrap of cloth that he carefully braided together to make a sling that he could fold up and shove in his pocket. For ammunition he just picked up the smooth riverstones near the bank, making sure to grab the best looking ones that were the perfect size to practice with.

He got pretty good at it too, only stopping his practice for the day once his cans were too damaged to make good targets anymore.

As an older teen he's really able to put some beans into it and, if his arcubus is out of ammo, as long as he has rocks or debris he can grab he can still punch through armor or stun large monsters without much trouble. Plus a wadded up bit of string and leather is pretty hard to find in a pat-down so he even has it with him in situations where they have to leave their weapons at the door.

Fabian has seen Riz punch a hole in a tree with a coin before when he got tipsy at a party and was goaded into showing off.

Question about the Riz developing aasimar traits thing

….How? Jjghgjgh genuine question

I think it’s cool and I love angelic traits on characters but I’m just confused How That Happens. Does meeting Pok give him aasimar genes through osmosis by being near him???? I’m confused sorry <33

hhh yeah i unforch don’t have a concrete answer yet LMAOOO i was just like “what if this tiny goblin boy got to resemble his father a bit more and i got to make a neat character design” win-win. the conclusion ive landed on for now is he was exposed to angelic magic and shares genes with an angel and that confused the universe and it was like “ok yeah 1+1 =2….and he’s at the age where these traits would develop in late bloomers…..sure!!”

Fun aasimar fact!! They aren’t just a generic dnd angel race, they’re specifically from other races and gain their aasimar features from a spark of the Upper Planes held within their soul (like one that could be passed down from a parent).

There isn’t a specific time aasimars develop their aasimar traits, with the 2022 book Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse saying “Aasimar can arise among any population of mortals. They resemble their parents, but they live for up to 160 years and often have features that hint at their celestial heritage. These often begin subtle and become more obvious when the aasimar gains the ability to reveal their full celestial nature.”

It can be assumed that the ability to reveal their full celestial nature requires some sort of event to help the spark grow to be able to manifest itself. This event could definitely come in the form of visiting their dad who’s an undercover angel in the Upper Planes. 💙

Is anyone else gonna make the comparison between Fantasy High’s doppelgängers and relationship issues/identities?

Baron (while not an exact copy of Riz, it is close enough) represents Riz’ aromanticism and his struggles with the idea that one day he will be left behind in favor of romance.

That’s pretty obvious, but now look at K2

K2 is Kristen’s clone. Kristen is canonically sapphic, one of the few characters to be confirmed queer. K2 is straight however. K2 actually has plenty of ‘good’ relationships throughout her time living. She’s flirty, she’s funny, she’s helpful in combat (every so often) and even gets into a school. Also, doesn’t she get with Fabian at some point or at the very least flirts with him heavily?

K2 is literally Kristen’s internalized homophobia and struggles with keeping strong relationships. Kristen in JY is dealing with so much (just losing a relationship with Tracker, their connections with Cassandra, and maintaining a relationship to the school itself in order to make the presidency) and K2 is created and just.. does everything Kristen can’t. K2 has romantic and platonic relationships (also, someone pointed that it seems in a lot of scenes that Kristen feels almost jealous of K2 and worried she’ll steal their friends. See in the ‘you’re leaving without me? What does K2 have that I don’t?’ snippet Unless that’s out of context I haven’t watched JY so honestly take all of this with a heaping pile of salt), K2 has a stable connection with Cassandra (although they don’t like her, it’s still a stable connection in comparison to Kristen’s fluctuating relationship) and K2 gets into Hudol (?).

K2 is literally succeeding at everything that Kristen is struggling with.

Now the internalized homophobia is a bit harder to make a huge case for cause it’s not like K2 worships Sol and would even further symbolize that time in their life.. but come on. The idea that this version of you that’s straight ends up having such better relationships with everyone in your life is such an inherently queer experience.

Anyways, I think it’d be really cool for Kristen and Riz to have someone to confide in about that.

Also could you imagine if the two swapped roles.

K2 being this horrifying mockery of Kristen (going down a Fig-esque path for the nightmare forest) or being the one to actually get on the good side of the gods Kristen meets (going down a Fabian-esque path for the nightmare forest where everyone is concerned over K2’s death instead?) K2 actively pushing Kristen from the rest of the Bad Kids, maybe back to their family? Their religion?

Baron would be this constant mock over Riz’ head. This thing makes friends much better than you. This thing doesn’t hide itself in clues and mysteries to avoid looking inwards (you guys remember how Baron praised Riz on ‘finding the solution to the puzzle’ when in reality it was just fucking with Riz. I mean it knows, like Kalina mocked, that he keeps burying himself in solving things other than himself. There was nothing to ‘solve’ in Baron’s mirrors, but Riz took it as something to solve to not further consider Baron may have been true in some aspects.) This thing isn’t spending a ton of time doing detective work - it’s being a friend to your friends, maybe better than you are.

I just wonder how much different they would be if K2 and Baron’s roles swapped.
