Applications are closing soon, and that’s the tea!
Hello, everyone! Due to an unexpected change in staff, promotion has taken a bit of a downturn for this zine - but while we are now only a team of two moderators, this zine is happening just the same! And not only are we going strong with its creation, applications for Happiness is a Choice are closing in just over ten days!
It is very unlikely that this time will be extended - so if you are interested in participating, now is the time to apply! Both artists and writers are encouraged to submit applications if they’re interested, and we are hoping to get at least a few more to review and hopefully accept before this period comes to a close!
Participants will not only receive promotion of their work and the joy of donating their time and proceeds to an incredible charity (Shatterproof), they will also receive the following*:
A free copy of the zine (shipping not included)
Access to private, zine-only art streams
A discount on merch, as well as three contributor-only buttons
If you’re not interested in participating, please consider signal boosting! This last stretch of applications is the most important for us, so any reblogs help!
* Contributors who violate the terms of service or do not produce a finished piece will not receive these perks, as outlined in the application guidelines.

please check this out!! we don’t have nearly enough applications, so even signal boosts are appreciated more than ever!!
Welcome to Happiness is a Choice - A We Happy Few Charity Fanzine!
Hello, everyone! Our team is incredibly excited to announce our new project: the first (to our knowledge) We Happy Few-based charity fanzine! We aim to showcase the survival horror game’s memorable characters and environments through a collection of digital art and writing, with the help of the fandom’s incredible creators.
Inspired by a game with two very distinct, different, and contradictory atmospheres, we hope for our zine to reflect both the dreary yet eerily beautiful Garden District, and the vibrant yet sinister Hamlyn Village. Each half of the zine will be comprised of one of these areas, including pieces that represent or include them in one way or another. By the time production comes around, we hope to have created a compilation that captures and celebrates the two sides of Wellington Wells, and we’re looking forward to every step between now and then!
For a zine based on a game so heavily influenced by drug use, it seemed fitting for our proceeds to go to a charity dedicated to helping those suffering from addiction. Shatterproof: Stronger than Addiction, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding those with alcohol/drug addictions as well as their families, is not only working to help revolutionize the treatment of substance abuse disorders, but also to fight the stigma surrounding it that has become disturbingly commonplace. They will be receiving the full amount of our proceeds upon the closing of preorders, and we’re very excited to make that donation!
The zine itself, ideally planned to showcase the drawn and written works of 30-45 artists, will be sold alongside several prints, buttons, and stickers as merch! More information about it can be found on our FAQ!
So, where do you come in?
Well, we want you! In order to create this project that we’re so excited to begin, we’ll need artists and writers alike to join us! If you fall into either of those categories, have an interest in We Happy Few, and are interested in participating, we would be delighted if you would apply! You can find our applications here!
If you are not interested in applying, we understand, of course – but we would certainly appreciate any signal boosting we can get! We know the We Happy Few fandom isn’t overly large, but we hope that with enough promotion and spreading of posts, we can develop a team large and dedicated enough to complete this zine.
it seems only right that i dedicate my first art after my commission break to the coolest fucking music video and the Number One Queen ;;
the internet has ruined me honestly i’m numb to everything. it could be the end of the world and i’d be like “tag urself i’m the acid rain”
You: Dude, cheer up Me, an intellectual: Young man, there’s no need to feel down
Person: *angers me*
Me: that is it. the grudge has been formed and i will remember this on my dying day. ill see you in hell
cool gender-neutral nicknames to call your friends
old sport
me, any regular day, blogging: i hate how fanboys glorify vader as a badass because he’s really such a tragic character
me, in the theater, gripping my darth vader sippy cup and death star popcorn bowl, watching my boy literally brutally murder the good guys: *softly* Oh my god.
roses are red minimum wage
what they say: I hate tumblr
what they mean: even though I am grateful tumblr helped me being more aware of social issues this site is taking these too far and has developed some kind of mob mentality which seems to take it as their duty to punish every "problematic" thing anyone has ever done, completely ignoring that they never were perfect themselves.
Their harassment is almost always over the top, and the mob happily goes after anyone as long as someone can claim it's been an act of oppression.
Therefore posting an opinion is very risky and accompanied with literal fear of harassment as this mob does not know when to stop, and cases of doxing have never been criticized either, and if I were to post legit criticism on some oppressed group I had a 50% chance to find people agreeing with me and 50% chance to be treated like the fucking antichrist.
the real secret to immortality? not dying. you want to be immortal? ok. easy. just don’t die. that’s it. refuse to die. there you go
“but how” you may ask. easy. just don’t do it. refuse to. say no thanks
