we had landcare practices to prevent shit like this. we’d burn the forest litter/hazardously flammable stuff in the cooler months to prevent massive forest fires happening. when our lands were invaded we could no longer implement these practices and now the leaf litter will build up and set on fire again and again and now the forest fires will be huge.

Happy to send people the studies and papers and stuff (or just have the conversation with sources) but by looking at tree ring scars, we can see that some areas had fires once every 80 years - and now those same regions are burning every few years. It’s un-natural for Australia, this isnt a continent meant to be chaotically and uncontrollably burning forever.

The intensity of fire is increasing bc of biomass is changing, plant species are changing, rivers diverted and drying up. Soil salinity is spiking, soil erosion is getting worse - and a thousand other things that aboriginal activists and people have been warning about for centuries.

Areas under native title where mosaic burning happens HAS LESS/NO OUT OF CONTROL FIRES. The evidence is literally right there.

alright ghostbusters (2016) fandom, it’s time we showed up in force to support charlie’s angels (2019), here’s a list of compelling reasons:

1. sabina exudes nonstop chaotic energy as the awkward funny wild card character (sound familiar?). she’s canonically queer and spends like 90% of her screen time being a useless gay

2. said useless gay has a super buff girlfriend teammate, jane. she’s hella smart and capable and makes bad guys eat her fists for breakfast. don’t be deceived by her reluctance to show emotions—she cares very deeply for sabina and they have lots of really cute banter (and one very extremely gay scene that i won’t spoil for you, but just know that it happens and it is glorious)

3. along the way, they pick up elena, who is the definition of cinnamon roll. just look at that face! that smile! she’s a techie who can crack any code on the planet and she won’t let anyone hurt her girlfriends new pals!

4. elizabeth banks is the hot sugar mommy boss who bankrolls them and that’s all you need to know about her character tbh

5. this whole entire film was made by women, for women, starring women. it is fun and funny and dynamic, and it flopped at the box office because it was advertised poorly and people didn’t want to see a “feminist reboot”. so many of the things i love about it are the same things i loved about ghostbusters (2016), which is why i think all you ghostbusters fans will love it too!

please go see it in theatres while it’s still showing, boost the hell out of this, tweet/comment/shoutout @ elizabeth banks (who wrote, directed, produced AND acted in this!) and the rest of the cast. this movie is awesome, please show it some love 💜
