What’s next….

When the end of OL eventually comes, what happens next?

I’m sure we’ve all thought about it. We’ve all imagined how it might pan out.

How will they explain years of misdirection - will they blame TPTB/contracts - will they say nothing and continue with their lives? What will happen to McBag-holder?

Will it be a full reveal? Will we see them openly together with their boos? How will we react? Will they be called liars and untrustworthy? Will people understand? It’s endless speculation - “the stars aligned”, “we are together” or “it’s just, eh, acting”.

Which is more convincing?

Then we have the strange behaviour - Sam’s long list of fit blond girl clones. Unconvincing hand-holding and the occasional kiss then nothing. Apart from McPretendzy- who was conveniently 1000s of miles away, 99% of the time.

Cait’s breadcrumbs to her “it happened over the weekend” no-ring engagement. Miss Private’s “somethings are just for me” is going on holiday down under - yet she starts a “be grateful for” thread. The engagement then took 5-6 announcements to get right. Written by a “journalist” no less. Who just happened to be there? And, by the next Awards event, a very expensive ring is in place.

A wedding, another boo all shrouded in secrecy/privacy - a boo who we are not allowed to see or even know his name. Bizarre.

There’s a lot to unravel. Are you ready for it? I’m not sure I am!

The only thing I am reasonably certain of, is that none of the people involved thought for a nanosecond it would take an eternity and a half until this contract ordeal would be over and done with.

If we do factor in the pressure and the lack of experience and well, the shock of whatever happened between Flirty Thursday (or was it Tuesday? please correct me if I am wrong) and the IFH, I think we could safely assume the main priority was to deal with the immediate risk and take things one step and one day at a time.

The pandemic only prolonged that agony way beyond anybody's expectations and what we see now is, in my humble opinion, a scrambled effort to end the project with dignity, while managing to grab opportunities that *** did not exactly offer, elsewhere (and, for S, anywhere).

The dreadful dragging along of this whole... ehm... 'Thing' (for lack of a better word) fits only ***'s merger and acquisition agenda, at the moment. It does not create any buzz, it does not come with BTS extras, it just goes to show to any potential buyer that this company still has the power to be involved in big-scaled projects, such as OL. And as such, to look attractive. They could not care less about the fandom.

That tiny 'private life' scandal seed is conveniently, quietly put off by the Anti's aggressivity and instilled collective boredom.

As for the 'reveal'. You know I am reluctant to discuss this and it's really anyone's guess and speculation. I tend to think it will be a very quiet thing, though.

I predict no reveal. I’ve seen so many stories of relationships hidden for decades. I think they want their careers to be separate so will continue to NOT attend industry events as a couple. Tony may just disappear and there may be an accidental discovery but nothing they will announce. I only see a public confirmation “IF” it will somehow benefit them.

Election Day is November 3rd and Trump wants to make it harder to vote by mail even though we’re in a raging pandemic and the CDC is recommending that all voting possible be done by mail. The USPS is already saying that they are expecting a record number of people to vote by mail and due to lack of funding they probably won’t be able to guarantee anything sooner than a 2 week ballot turn around. We all need to request our ballots now so there’s enough time to receive and return them well before November 3rd. 

If voting didn’t work, Republicans wouldn’t spend so much time and money making sure people don’t vote.

Curious, if you had a million dollar winning lottery ticket would you sign it and send it in the mail to the lottery commission or would you take it in person? The process of having so many mail in ballots is fraught with the potential of fraud and fraud can work for both sides. I personally want to be sure my vote is properly cast and counted, but that’s just me. And before I hear a lot of BS about absentee ballots, they are not the same. You can see many Democrats criticizing mail in ballots in past elections. It’s different now because they don’t want to see Trump win again and they know that it’s likely he will unless they screw with the process.

Why would you think this will have any effect on his career? Let’s face it, SH 2020 is not the same guy the fandom fell in love with. I noticed about 4 years ago when there was some sort of fan voting contest and he was behind and said “Come on Heughligans, we got this”. Right there I knew the fan adoration had gone to his head. I spent hours voting “for” the competition and it was an actor I had never heard of or seen. I think in the beginning he was very kind, humble and grateful as his coworkers described him but clearly fame has gone to his head. Such a shame.

Before this debacle I’m sure their hot, much adored, lead doing some fan service for the show would be greatly appreciated by Starz. He did have a nice manner - when he was getting all the praise.

But, after Hawaiigate and BettyBunny, Starz may decide it’s a bit too much of a risk. He seems to have a hair trigger for certain key words and the intern would have bleeding fingers if they tried to block them all. I was just talking about the dairy industry in a Facebook group because my parents have been working on trying to reopen the last closed dairy in Hawaii since last year! There are smaller farms with some cows or goats to make cheese and butter and other dairy products, but those are artisanal. They import all their milk and then companies like Meadow Gold process, package it up and sell it

Also this. He extended til April 24 but he might want to extend longer because, if they do this on Oahu too, he has to leave when his pre-booked time is up. No extensions. No new bookings.

And I was too, Nonnie.  But I never, ever believed in TPTB theory baloney.  

We all agree that nothing they have done has matched their words.  We were all hypnotized by the cute and intimate moments they showed us.  However, the background noise was something else.  When that IFH happened, I was pissed as shit.  I thought, OK…if you don’t want me to ship you, I won’t.  But it still took me a little while to stop because they kept behaving differently than what they were saying.  As time went on,  I got madder and madder because the gaslighting continued.  As I got more and more annoyed, I started to hear what Cait was saying, and she wasn’t saying any of it nicely.  The truth is, is that she is not likable as a celebrity.  She may be the greatest friend in the world to her friends, and the greatest daughter/sister in the world to her family, but she is not a nice celebrity.  She shares nothing.  She acts like the fandom is an intrusion in her life. She has continually, to this day, refused to share anything about her life about her freaking husband…even saying his name out loud.  Plus, she has lied to the fandom more than once about “working” and cancelling scheduled events.  Fandom is a burden to her.  And this coming from a woman who only has this job because of the fandom.  

Sorry, I got off topic because this is still a trigger.  But I 100% agree that no one should be encouraging new shippers, or chastising people for not following the ship beliefs anymore.  I can’t believe there even are new shippers.  I mean what are they seeing?  Are they new to Outlander?  Are they basing this solely on the show chemistry?  Because original shippers never used that as a basis for the ship.  S&C are barely present in the fandom anymore, so I don’t get it.  

As for getting hurt…well, I think they are being set up for failure and that is not right.  But you can’t make people believe what you do just by saying it.  They have to want to believe you, and new shippers are obviously liking what a certain group of high profile diehards are saying over what the rest of us are saying.
