One thing that I've had to learn the hard way is:
Friends no matter how close you are with them, regardless how long you know them, they will leave, people truly come and go in your life.
It is better to be-friend Allāh, as He will never leave your side.
It is better to be-friend the Qur'aan, as it can become your companion in Dunya, Aakhirah and your qabr.
It best to be attached to Aakhirah, as the Dunya and everything in it, is temporary.
As it is mentioned in a hadith :
`Abdullah bin `Umar said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler." The sub-narrator added: Ibn `Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."
