I’ve never written soulmate stuff before so this is probably really different from what you’ve normally read, and it’s different from what I normally write but this really has a part of my heart in it.  Inspired by Lang Leav’s wonderful works (the poems up above) and some weird instances I’ve been having.

Two strangers both alike in mind have a book propped open with words inked in of love and heartbreak and other musings. They are alike because they mark their favorite poems by dog ears and highlights with little scrawls of their own thoughts scratched into the margins.

Late night for her, early morning for him as they’re on two different sides of the country, it’s not just miles that separate them, but the day and night. The moon comforts her and is her light as she reads of a love shared between two poets. The sun is his friend and a warm embrace as he delves deeper and deeper into the pages of the same love but tinged with an air of sophisticated provocativeness.

While on their Spotify playlists, the same artists and songs are shared between the two. Music and lyrics, words, and prose, two hearts longing for the same thing. 

A love to be written about, a love to be shared, an adventurous love that is unique because it is their own. In both their minds, that kind of love doesn’t seem tangible. To be added to their likeness, they’re both the only single ones amongst their friends and have been for a while.

Calum has been at tour rehearsal all day, and all the night previous you two had been working on the new house. Unpacking odds and ends, deciding which curtains looked best in which window, lining shelves with trinkets and mementoes of your relationship. A book that wore watered down pages with pride, given on a night an apology shattered silence but was as delicate as a single raindrop hitting the earth. A flower to replicate the botanical garden your first date had taken place in. Art in the park tickets framed to commemorate the day of your first kiss. They’d all been Calum’s doing; he unpacked the book from the depths of the boxes, had framed the tickets and purchased vase and flower. It made your heart swell to realize he had already begun keeping his promise. He’d started to accumulate things he loved in the new home.

When World of Warcraft Classic was announced, you knew what you were going to be getting into. You were prepared for it. 

Michael’s excitement was hardly contained when he read about its impending release. He’d chattered excitedly about it, checking the calendar, radiating absolute glee when he figured out that he’d have a solid few weeks to play it before he left for tour.

When the game arrived in the mail he’d hugged the box close to his chest, posting about it on his Instagram story, talking to you about what he was going to do when he got it. You, being the loving and attentive girlfriend that you were, listened to him blather on, smiling and petting his hair when he flopped back to lay his head in your lap when you were sitting on the couch. You loved to see him so excited about something. He was especially pretty when his eyes were lit up like that, his lips curved into a smile.

They all greeted you with a hug, you had butterflies the whole time but whenever Calum looked at you or spoke to you, the butterflies did loop-de-loops. 

You always found yourself getting into awkward situations with Calum.
