Summary: The Inquisitor Roisin Lavellan hires two infamous pirates from the Lords of Fortune to retrieve an ancient elven artifact before the Dread Wolf finds it. Kalinda Marsh finds herself at odds with an ancient elven god and a bunch of power hungry mages that are desperately seeking the relic. Their backs are to the wall which is when they are at their best. Because you see, Solas isn't the only ancient elven god running around northern Thedas.

For this post I wanted to dig out some of my favourite fanarts. And the process of choosing artworks felt like a retrospective for me. My life changed so much, and now I draw less than 10 years ago, and it's a shame. It looks like I choked myself with perfectionism, demanding to make each subsequent artwork better or at least the same quality. It was slowly killing my creativity and desire to make art. Ancient Elven "Lyrium Knights" Theory

So, I used a cheat to unlock all the codex entries in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and had a field day reading them. One of the first things I started to piece together was various mentions of "lyrium knights" used in Ancient Elvhenan to serve the Evanuris. Now, to quote Bellara, I have a theory...

This is exactly what happened to Fenris.

In the codex entry "Against the So-Called Gods", Solas writes:

They are infusing lyrium into warriors not gifted with the sense of magic. This has not been done since the Great War, when honoured knights willingly sacrificed their own flesh in defence of the people. But what enemy will the lyrium knights defend you from? The Forgotten Ones? They have fled the empire. Me? I am only a danger to the powerful. No, the lyrium knights are meant to defend against you, to stifle resistance and protect the Evanuris.

The description "infusing lyrium into warriors not gifted with the sense of magic" immediately invokes the image of the lyrium branded to Fenris. But there's more!

In the codex entry "Aftermath of Disparaging the Gods", Felassan writes:

The good news is that public sentiment has turned against the lyrium knights, and our agents got information that let us destroy one of the sarcophagi.

At the mention of sarcophagi, combined with the mention of lyrium infusion... well, anyone who has read the comics Dragon Age: Blue Wraith and Dragon Age: Dark Fortress would find that familiar. In these comics, we learn Danarius that Danarius accomplished his ritual on Fenris by uncovering an ancient elven sarcophagus that can infuse lyrium into an elf. It only works on elves, though. Any non-elf explodes.

So, yeah. Fenris is a lyrium knight.

I finally managed to find some free time to sit down and draw my Rook (dwarf warden). I hope some day I will finish the game, despite the fact I already got all possible spoilers 😁

I wish DA:TV were more of an rpg and less a checkpoint slasher. It feels for me like we've been robbed of opportunity to create actually distinguished protagonists. Rooks personalities feels the all same somehow (I tried to create different Rooks), in fact all we got is a character creator. I wish we'd had more actual choice to make. With combat being flashy and... painfully boring I found myself in a position of not having enough time or strength to run around the same location over and over and killing respawned enemies just because I can't finish quest or mission it in a 20-30 min timeframe available for me. It would be so much easier if I could continue exactly from the place it was left the other day.

About combat mechanics... I still can't understand why it was necessary to switch from classic party combat mechanics to PC-only aggro and unblockable damage. Can't say I was expecting to "tank" with mage class or being not able to take a punch while playing a warrior. No matter what class you choose, it's a glass cannon and you have to run(roll, jump and other acrobatics) around just to choose a moment and make a couple blows. Looks both spectacular and ridiculous. Maybe it was made intentionally to stretch gameplay time. But it was driving me mad, after DA:I where your party tank could take dragon fire right in a face and be cool. But I got used to kite and bite style eventually. Btw I'm talking about nightmare, I never try lower difficulties in DA because at some point combats usually start to feel trivial and too boring. Maybe I'm wrong and Veilguard is actually better balanced on lower difficulties.

Judging by the spoilers DA:TV is not the Grand Finale we've been waiting for but at least we have it at all, and I'm still determined to make to the final titles some day.

I wondered here if the titles of companion relationship levels are personalized to them, as Level 3 Lucanis is Contract Killer and Level 4 Davrin is “Comrade in Arms”. combing through the rest of the video, they are, which is a really cool/thoughtful touch:

What is a Big Bang?

A fandom Big Bang encourages writers to produce a new, long piece of fanfiction, with the challenge of a deadline. Each fic will be paired with an artist, who will work with the author to create a new illustration based off of the themes and vibes of that work. Each pair of participants in this event will produce: One (1) new Dragon Age Fanfic of at least 25,000 words, and one (1) art piece inspired by that fic.
