Ok so at the moment I am reading Lord of Shadows (it’s being amazing by the way) and the weirdest thing happened to me.
So I was in Literature (I’m in junior year by the way) and we were watching a documentary about this author we were gonna study. I sit at the front of the class because I don’t know actually and as usual there’s this bunch of guys who think they are really cool and don’t give a shit about school and sit at the back making noise.
Well, one of them was pissing off the teacher so she told him to sit at the front. And where was the only place available? Right next to me.
(I probably should mention that I always keep the book I’m reading on top of my desk just in case I have time to read so yeah)
(Also I had a book of the author we were gonna study in front of me and was taking notes in it)
And so this guy sits next to me and is staring very intently at my desk. You have to know, this isn’t the type of guy I usually talk to ok? In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve talked to him like twice in the past two years. He’s a jock, popular, everyone loves him, that sort of thing.
And so he’s staring at my desk and then asks me “Can I see that book?”
And I thought he was talking about the book I was taking notes on. So I hand it to him and he’s like “No the other one.”
The only other book I had in my desk was Lord of Shadows so I thought maybe he means this one??? So I hand it to him and he’s staring at it for a while.
Then he looks up smiling and says “This is from Shadowhunters.”
Bruh, I was so shocked. But then I though “oh maybe he saw it in Netflix”
But then he goes and says “This is the second book from The Dark Artifices. I haven’t read it yet.”
So I’m staring at him, mouth wide open, and he starts admiring the book and reading the back cover and reading the first few paragraphs and says “Wow it sounds amazing already.”
And places it on the exact same spot I had in the exact same way.
Also, I have this little agenda to write my homeworks in and I have a little paper so I know what day it is and on it it’s written: Dura Lex, Sed Lex | Lex Malla, Lex Nulla | The Law Is Hard But It Is The Law | A Bad Law Is No Law At All
And it was facing the English side.
So the Latin side was covered.
And he saw it and smiled and said it in Latin.
And then just turned back to the documentary.
Mans I just sat there looking at him and all I wanted to do was hug him and scream FELLOW SHADOWHUNTER
but then like class is over and he walks out and I’m just like the fuck just happened
So yeah this happened today be happy for me cuz I found a fellow shadowhunter
