Just saw a bloodhounds TikTok editing gunwoo and woojin to "Brother" by Kodaline, and it got me contemplating the nature of their relationship.
I'm of the opinion that they're soulmates who'd do anything for each other. Sure both platonic and romantic soulmates are a thing, but brothers as a description genuinely does not do them justice—and I'm not just saying that as a gunwoojin shipper.
Yes, they do share blood from when gunwoo gave his to woojin in ep6 after the house fight. So I agree that this can make them blood brothers as a socio-cultural thing. But aside from gunwoo's mom, they literally are the most important person in the other's life. No other relationship can compare to this bond they made through choice, shared grief and survival. And that's another thing: choice. They're CHOOSING to fight for each other.
And did you see how tenderly they interact with each other all season?? The way gunwoo held woojin when he was breaking down cuz inbeom took eomma? Gunwoo's face scrunch when he saw that woojin's hand was bleeding again in the police station? Their talk when training before the final fight, looking like a couple trying to get through a problem together?? The fact that they share a damn room on fucking bunk beds in a big ass house???
My point is that any fool can tell they love each other in both a platonic and romantic capacity. Family??? They don't wanna be brothers; they want to be husbands. And to the ppl who are insisting that "nooo why do you guys need to make everything gay! Why can't guys just be friends?!" you're homophobic and I'll stop shipping them when they stop looking at each other with unchecked love, devotion and appreciation in their eyes.
