I loved how the author switched the pov to Kumud, Aymeri's sister. It was beautiful to see Kumud grow and develop, breaking the chain of pains and traumas from her past and help her sister. The world building and character development are more and loose ends gets tied up but also presents new mysteries and questions.Sometimes it was hard to keep up with the plot as a lot of things were happening.Loved the writing.Overall this one was good, wayyy better than the first one. ⭕BOOKISH CHALLENGE ⭕ So today, I am doing the #fivefingerbookchallenge🤚 it's been long since I did a challenge and this one looked like fun and it was fun to do it too! Here we goo! ⭕Thumb: A book I give thumps up to- Splintered by A. G Howard. This is my first time reading Alice in Wonderland retelling and boy, I loved it! ⭕Index: A book that I recommend- Killing November by Adrianna Mather. I dont understand why this book is so underrated. A dark academia book with perfect mix of romance and intrigue. ⭕Middle: A book I didn't love- There's blood on your heart by Chirasree bose. I am actually having mixed feelings on this book. I neither loved it nor hated it. ⭕Ring: a character I would marry- This was hard to choose. But I am sticking with my first love, Thomas Cresswell from SJTR series! ⭕Pinky: A book I promise to read soon- Emma by Jane Austen. Okay, I am not a classic fan and never tried it. HAPPY FRIDAY! Qotd: What is/are the question/questions people ask you when you say you are a book lover or a bookhoarder? One of the question asked by people to me is that, what do I do with the books after reading them,especially if they are paperbacks/hardcovers, or you bought a book and you didn't liked it? Their main point is that paperbacks/hardcovers are expensive and if you don't like the plot it's a waste of money. Ngl, I used to think like that too. I always felt guilty (idk why I felt like that) but my mother changed it. She said to me, do not think it is a waste of money,don't give into other people's thoughts or opinions. You are just doing it because it is what makes you happy and books are never waste of money. Now I am like, how am I supposed to explain that feeling of seeing the books on the shelf, beautifully lined and placed, -a reminder or a souvenir of the journey you have been through. How am I supposed to tell them that whenever I am in front of the bookshelf I feel like I step into another world that makes me so happy,excited and proud that I find myself smiling like an idiot. I think she is right, you don't always have to be rational to do something, you are doing it for the sake having fun, because it is making you happy. Qotd: Do you love mythical creatures? Which is your favorite mythical creature? To be honest, I am a very fan of mythical creatures. Any thing that has mythical creatures written in them I just grab and read it. I love getting knowledge or infos like that. This book is my fav read of this month(even though I only read 3 books until now including this one). The writing was flowy and the illustrations was soo good! Just look at that cover! What I most loved is that I get to know about more mythical creatures from different mythologies, like Japan, Norse & Greek. From folklores of Philippino & Chilean. It was well researched and presented. Definitely recommend if you like reading books on mythical creatures! (and you know I rarely give absolute five stars😌 so trust me on this 😉) I left the genre blank coz I don't know where it fits, 🤷‍♀️🤔 Series title: The Legendary Lores Series Title: Mythical creatures & Magical beasts. Ok, ngl when I saw the phrase 'fans of Anna Todd will love this' I was like No, No. But still I jumped into this one coz I love college romance tropes🤷‍♀️ I really loved the author's writing style. It is flowy and simple. I was amazed to know the author is a young person but she did a very well job on showing us the struggles of a person with C-PTSD which our heroine is suffering from.(which is a quite a change) Even though there was 'After' vibe here and there it was a good read. The secondary characters were supportive and loyal(which I liked and disliked at the same time). Yeah and sometimes I even questioned the heroine's decision. I think it would have been better if there was pov from Axel, so some questions can be answered. And I felt the twist at the end- even though it was slightly predictable- was good. Definitely gonna say the author has potential and looking forward to her new works! This time it is one of the mysterious murder case of four high school kids in a Camp,widely known as 'A box in Woods' murder case. =================== Our stevie is back! I was excited to read this one as I loved this author's Truly devious series! And again she never let's me down with her killer writing styles and plot! It felt so good to see the gang back! Cannot say this was better than 'Truly devious' series cause I didn't felt the creepiness or spookiness while I reading this one like when I read the series. But still it was creepy here and there. The last few chapters gave me adrenaline rush. I devoured this in one sitting! Nate is still my fav character of the whole squad. Recommend this to every mystery thriller lovers out there!!
