Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
by the way this is medical. this could save somebody from a migraine all the way to a seizure. this has always been serious. treat this seriously.
and out of the darkness - you you you you you

SLIVER IS DONE!! I decided to add Watch to this too to make a lil cool effect with Saint.
Sliver's illustration was also hard to make cuz l put myself on a very high pedestal for her TvT
Other than that, could have done better but I have some studying to do unfortunately
Sliver is done! It's time for ALL OF THEM!

hello fellow artists. google has fallen. pinterest/duckduckgo AI filters don't work. do not despair; here is a list i made of places to find reference images without having to sift through piles of worthless garbage. (for future editing convenience i am just linking my blog post on dreamwidth.)
✨ good places to find art reference that are not full of AI trash 🌈

What are your thoughts on hornet and the vessels?
Because I just see so many drawings of hornet and her siblings loving each other, and it’s awesome!
But did we just forget she kills a vessel in front of ghost, and shows no remorse? Btw, a vessel that she knows most likely has emotions because she knows her sibling (Hollow) has emotions because it failed keeping the Radiance at bay
Also a vessel whose only crime was to have the instinct to keep the Randiance within it, which if it did it would free Hollow
Maybe it was a mercy kill? So it didn’t have to suffer like Hollow
Idk, my headcanon is that her mind can’t comprehend the fact the she cares about her siblings with the fact that she’s benefiting of the suffering of one of them (and does nothing until Ghost gets there to prevent that) and that’s she’s killed at least one of them before
(I also have to take into account her character development before and after silksong, because she goes from being very cold and uncaring to helping everyone she comes across for mostly no reason)
But please tell me your thoughts, I need to know what people think of this
Though I can tell you what elder bug thinks:
Really cool comic! I just want to add my own theory about a couple things
First of, are we sure Hornet fully knows that Hollow and the vessels are people with emotions and wills?
Assuming she was at the palace and interacted with Hollow, the Pale King or the White Lady would probably tell her to treat them lile any other kingsmould. Even if they were sure it was empty and would stay empty, it'd be best for Hornet not to get attached. Fast forward to when Hollow is sealed and the infection breaks out of them, proving that they aren't empty. If Hornet asked the White Lady, she'd say it was "tarnished by an idea instilled" aka it was born empty, but that was ruined by expectations, or parental love or whatever else.
And then there is fucking GREENPATH VESSEL
I swear I'm not trying to say Hornet is a perfect little angel who never killed anyone, but the more I think about it the more I dont believe she killed that specific vessel. And its all because that vessel was killed with their own nail. Could Hornet have disarmed it and then killed it, sure, but we didn't see that and we need to at least consider that it could have killed itself. If it did then why? I had no idea until I replayed Hornet's fight and saw the cutscene after it
You know, the one where the dreamers talk to you and discuss what to do about you, and then they like, blast you with dream essence but you get up like nothing happened and go on your merry way? That cutscene. Whats so weird about it you ask?
Oh I dont know, maybe the fact they're commanding the vessel to "return to it's darkness" aka the abyss?? Granted it's not that imperative of a phrasing, but it's not a suggestion either. Maybe the dream essence was a way to force that command onto the vessel and Ghost was able to withstand it, while greenpath vessel didn't have enough will and, well, returned to the darkness. What convinces me the most is that if this isnt what the dreamers were trying to do, then that cutscene doesn't serve any purpose, especially knocking out ghost.
I think Hornet saw that happen, saw the mothwing cloak on the vessel, and when ghost came to hallownest she decided to lure them (because we aren't stalking her like she says, she makes sure to wait for us to follow her) to the location of the vessel's corpse because a. It's a good intimidation, b. It makes for a fine arena and c. If the dreamers could do that again, they could test ghost as well.

I forgot to jot down Sec stuff from the Russian run, so-
Back to ,,how is it THAT LONG-" slavic crisis. (To be fair, this name stumped me too when I attempted translation.)
Indeed, homie refers to itself with a 'he', too, it wasn't just Twelfth thing. ,,Страж" is a masculine word, though, so I presume that's why. I, too, refer to Sec with a he when speaking about it in slovak and I assure I don't think of it any less as a toaster. (Cuz the word Sentinel is masculine, I don't... actually translate it into slovak in casual speech. Fucking. ,,Druhý sentinel" comes out of me unironically. Slovak reading rules and all.)
I've looked through the dictionary I'm using and looked into the word definitions of the ,,sentinel", refered to some of my previous thoughts about how its name would be translated in slovak- because there's multiple words to describe the function, similarly to English (sentinel, guard, guardian, sentry...)
I find it it neat that страж is used specifically, more so as what vibe it delivers to me as a slovak speaker more than the russian word by itself. Because in slovak, this word can have at least three forms - Stráž (what's written in russian), Strážnik or Strážca.
And all of these? Different vibes, different sparks for imagination of the function's look. Strážnik prompts me to think of someone more regular- like a bouncer or someone overseeing points of entrances like in the national art gallery. Strážca is more for those British soldiers guarding the palace, someone stern looking, serious. Stráž is... feels more medieval? More graceful and mythical. It can be used as a word for the action, than just a name of the post- držať stráž means keeping guard. It's what is said when speaking about guardian angels (anjeli strážny) - Držia nad tebou stráž... They stay vigilant/protective over you. (Funnily enough, in Slovak this word is a feminine one.)
In Russian, interestingly, the word also seems to refer to imprisoning someone? As in ,,put [someone] under watch". Don't have that in slovak...
I sure hope everyone who doesn't want potential Silksong spoilers has the right tags blocked because here is my guesses and theories and so on and so forth on who the weavers are! Like, more specifically who's who, kinda thing. Yeah. Here you go;
