These coasters have F-U-N (Fluorine-Uranium-Nitrogen) with the periodic table! They're geek chic and perfect for any table and occasion- 4 inch mirrored glass, little felt feet on the bottom so they won't scratch, acid etched (not painted), with actual element details for Sulfur, Argon, Calcium, and Samarium. Use them to spell sarcasm, or simply enjoy their minimalist beauty. These coasters are dishwasher safe, and the etching is permanent- it's caused by the reaction of fluoric/hydrofluoric acid (HF, hydrogen fluoride) with the elements in glass, and is not painted or sprayed on. I take safety seriously- each coaster has gone through the dishwasher (after three or four hand-washings) to ensure all traces of the volatile acid have been removed.
