Invisible Rooms for Businesses and Hobbies

It took about fifteen minutes of playing to realize that customers love to hang out behind the counter and make themselves drinks.

Thus, invisible gates and fences to keep your valued customers where they should be.

Info below the cut!

IMPORTANT

You can make an enclosed "room" with these, but if you set the access level to Employees or Residential, any retail objects placed against it will not work correctly (your employees can interact, but customers can't order). I think the game is treating them as inside the room. You can still use the gates and fences normally, just lock them for anyone but employees.

Keeping the employees only space at least one full tile away from any bars/display cases etc should also work.

I also recommend using the move objects cheat with these, otherwise you’ll have a gap between the fence and your object.

A final word of warning... these are invisible in Live Mode and Build Buy, so they can be a little hard to remove once placed. You may have to remove a floor tile.

BUT

I tested these through ~24 in-game hours both as standalone rooms and connected to counters with no other issues. I made them for myself/haven't released CC in years so please let me know if you run into anything.

Base game compatible, same poly count as a standard bg fence.

500 Followers Gift - Girl's Dress, 1917

I got some time today (in between water and power outages) to work on this dress. Perhaps I got carried away because it turned out to be three pieces. I made both of the dresses in the picture you all voted on, and also converted my Early Cloche for children. The reference magazine pages I used had a lot of similar hats, so I thought it might be nice to have with this set.

Descriptions and front and back views below the cut.

The "Mid-sleeve Dress" is a silk dress with pleats on the front and back and a button detail beneath the hemstitched collar. It comes in all 25 swatches of the Pudding Palette.

The "Long-sleeve Dress" is a wool dress for fall/winter with hemstitched collar and cuffs, tucks on the bodice and hem, and a "Greek Key" embroidery design. It has 17 swatches, mostly darker shades of the Pudding Palette with a few with "contrast red" embroidery.

The cloche is also in all 25 swatches of the Pudding Palette, just like the adult version.

Let me know if you have any issues! I have a PSD for both dresses with no embroidery/design, so if anyone is interested in recoloring I'll be happy to send it to you if you message me.

Here we have Cocomama’s Freetime Sewing Machine Conversion that creates her Freetime Quilts.

This works the same as the loom I just posted.

After about a Sim hour, you will find a random quilt in your sim’s inventory.

I enabled LiveDrag for the quilts so that you can drag it straight from your Sim’s Inventory to a wall.

While sewing you will get an Inspired Buff. At the end you will receive a Confident Buff for finishing your work, your Sim’s new quilt (accompanied by a notification), as well as a small fabricator skill increase if you have the Eco Pack.

I am pretty sure that you will need Snowy Escape for this to work.

I think the biggest issue with this and the loom is that occasionally they will be interrupted by other sims and forget to finish the project. And because this doesn’t work with recipes/crafting, but rather vending machine tuning, it is not resumeable.  It doesn’t happen all the time for me, BUT just in case, I have a work space for my sims so others won’t bother her during a project. 

In the zip file are the LiveDrag enabled Quilts and the Sewing Machine.

Painted Wastebasket - Country Kitchen Add-on

I wasn’t planning on making another release this weekend, and I don’t normally make objects, but my sister has been asking me to make a painted vintage wastebasket like our grandmother used to have ever since she saw an ask for midcentury trashcans on @twentiethcenturysims. Now that the country kitchen kit is out I didn’t really have much to keep me from saying no, since EA gave us a decorative bucket shaped like a trash can but no trash can. Why, EA?

This is not a new mesh, it’s a recolor of the base game trash can “Baby’s First Trashcan.” I don’t really have enough experience with objects to make a functional object anyway. I used textures from the bucket and the flour tin for decorations. There are 20 swatches in all, three solid textures and seventeen with vintage designs on both sides. 

Should be base game compatible, but let me know if you have any issues.

Hi there! The answer is yes... kinda! I’m planning on reworking the cabinets to be more appropriate for my early 20th century gameplay, so it won’t be exactly like the kitchen that comes with the kit. It’s a big project so I’m not sure when it’ll be finished, but it’ll be BGC when it’s done!

I have already 100+ followers! To celebrate this I made a recolor of @royaltysimblr’s Helena dress. The recolor called Leen after the blonde sim from the preview who’s wearing this amazing dress in my game. Also Leen is a form of name Helena, so it fits perfectly. Also I made two overlays.

About the recolor:

28 colors in @serindipitysims‘s The Historian palette

includes two overlays: one for skirt and one for belt. They work both with the recolor and the original dress, can be used together, both find in Rings cathegory

Here’s the Oh, The Suspense! Suspended Lights, split into single lamps. The large lamp comes in short and long, the smaller one in three heights.

My Great Uncle wanted a stripped down version of Great Auntie’s Desk from the Paranormal Pack... so here it is! I rearranged the drawers to look a little more like a turn of the century rolltop desk.
