Today marks the 1 year anniversary of me being introduced to Chester
I had a whole big sentimental post queue’d up for the exact time down to the minute, but tumblr ate it 🙁 Shame on me for trying to make my first anniversary post special /hj
Anyways I’m gonna retype what I can remember.
On June 12th, 2025, I was in a call with my good friend when they said “There’s this character I think you’re either going to love or hate a lot”
At 10:58 pm, they sent an image of Chester along with his name. The first word out of my mouth was “aww”. Then after call, I learned he’s actually an insufferable little shit but it was too late, my fate was unknowingly sealed.
Over the course of this one year, I feel that I’ve changed noticeably: mainly in regards to smiling and laughing out loud way more. There were lows, of course, but most of the time I was considerably happy. And that usually came back to him somehow
It honestly kind of shocked me just how deeply he rooted himself into my life in such a short time. In the process of making the original post, I asked myself “why him of all characters??” But after some introspection I realized his themes of laughter and mischief have been in my life practically since birth. Yeah u can throw rocks at me now
Happy anniversary to Chester, and thank you again, Merlin, for introducing me to him (+ Brawl Stars as a whole) 🫶🎉 Shoutout to Lilac for tha song as well ☺️🎡
ok, so here’s my recipe for the cheesy bread i made this morning! i would say if you like cheesy bagels, this is a very similar vibe
Ingredients
2 teaspoons of yeast
1 and 1/2 cups of warm water
2 teaspoons of sugar or honey
3 cups of flour, plus extra for kneading
2 teaspoons olive oil, plus extra for kneading
1 teaspoon each of salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika
1/2 cup of shredded cheese of choice (i used a blend of italian cheeses), plus extra to sprinkle on top
Steps
Add the warm water to the yeast and sugar or honey, let it get foamy.
Once the yeast is foamy, add the flour, seasoning, shredded cheese, and and olive oil. Mix until combined
Dust a surface with flour and dump the dough out. Before kneading, add a bit of olive oil to your hands so the dough doesn’t stick to your hands. (This also prevents you from adding too much flour to the dough!)
Knead the dough for 6-8 minutes.
Oil a spare bowl and let the dough rest inside covered with a clean, damp kitchen towel for an hour.
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Grease a bread pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
Knock the air out of the dough and knead it into a sheet, and then roll it up. Put it in the greased bread pan and let it rest, covered, for 15-20 minutes.
Once the dough has risen in the pan, sprinkle over with the leftover shredded cheese.

The other day I was surfing the internet and I found this specialized painting colour wheel, it shows how real paint colours relate to each other.
Outside: the purest/brightest colours.
Inside: naturally muted or earthy colors, like browns and ochres.
The Center: dark neutral tones used for mixing shadows.
The Lines: the lines connect colors that are opposites, if you mix them you neutralize the tone creating clean grays or browns instead of muddy puddles.
I want to share this with you because I think it is really illustrative!
"Maybe it's just stress/anxiety" is so crazy as a Dismissive Statement because even when it *is* anxiety it's such an understatement to be like "how about you just chill out idk" when your body is poisoning itself with its own stress hormones. Like okay sometimes it is anxiety. This is still physically happening to me
More nonblack artists should have black ocs just because black characters are so fun to design like come on! regular ass black people get so creative with their style and you 🫵🏾 should draw them!!
Do not be afraid to do it seriously. If youre worried about capturing skintones correctly or portraying features right, there's nothing wrong with asking for feedback and advice from others 👍🏾 just be genuine and eager to improve
