Disinformation Wins

I've noticed that the majority of BBM-Sara tandem supporters had voted based on emotion, while subconsciously ignoring key facts and details that might contradict their impulses. Some of them are victims of disinformation or brainwashed, and some of them choose to be blinded.

Social media has become the primary source of information for most of the masses due to its easy access, and sometimes it can be time-consuming for them to do research rather than reading/watching what's posted online.

Due to the limitations of fact-checking, no matter how strong the evidence is or how it is presented, fact-checking or doing research will only be effective if their brain is open to receiving new information. Otherwise, their thinking is hijacked and captivated by confirmation biases.

Some vloggers, commentators, and/or critics, who are partisan to Marcoses, took advantage of spreading disinformation about their opponent, their infamous "Golden Era" narrative, and so on across the internet to deceive netizens.

Over the last two decades, disinformation, myths, and conspiracy theories have helped to romanticize the Marcos name, causing citizens to want to experience his presidency and think it would be great if they vote for him without thinking their vote will affect all of us, especially those who are marginalized.

Our country's fate is in our hands. If we want to make progress, we can't rely just on candidates. It is our responsibility to elect the right and qualified candidate. We deserve more than an inconsistent and weak leader and temporary solutions.

Different countries have colonized us, and we were previously ruled by a ruthless dictator. We fight for freedom and democracy all the time and those sacrifices are not meant to be wasted. Let us look for candidates who are interested in the progress of our country rather than its personal gain.

Your vote may seem insignificant, but it does make a difference. We may not realize it, but our life is affected by government, laws, and elected officials every day.

Four years ago, I experienced mental health problems when I started to face the real world. My thoughts were getting worse and this was not right. All things didn't work out. Everything just came tumbling down. I was trying to deal with this but it brought me negative doings particularly self-harming. Every wound I made felt like an addiction that encouraged me to kill myself.

Life wasn't worth fighting for so I tried to suffocate me by drinking pills and stabbing my wrist directly to my pulse. It's too early to die. Here I am, still alive.

Society still triggers me. I feel ashamed after I recovered from rehabilitation because of the stigma. I'm not as insane as what you think because of what you've read. I'm just... I don't know. Maybe, I'm unwell.

I know the definition of happiness but I forgot what it feels like when I met depression. I used to enjoy things but not anymore.

I've been suffering from depression since when I was ** and is not improving. This is not me before. I didn't choose this. I didn't want to be like this. I didn't want to be "ill". I didn't want to be depressed and nobody wants to be depressed.

I lost my confidence. I lost my passion. I lost my way. I lost my dreams. I lost every piece of me. I don't know who I am anymore. I forgot to live. Pain suffocated me 'til I became numb. I can't feel happiness anymore. I'm losing my will to live here on Earth. My life exists but is dead internally.

I was trying to fight my journey at first but tired to lift it up. My first attempt was failed. I want to do it again and make it successful so I can feel the happiness if I meet death and demons.

Mga Tinig Na Hindi Marinig

Alam niyo, nakakaawa ang mga senior citizens, PWDs at mga buntis na nagtiyaga sa initan, gutom at mahabang pila para iparinig sa masa ang kanilang boses sa pamamagitan ng pagboto kung sino ang nararapat ngunit wala ring kwenta ang naging resulta ng kanilang pagtiya-tiyaga dahil sa mga tangang Pilipino na mas piniling iluklok ang kanilang kababayan o kakilala kaysa sa kapakanan ng nakararami kasama na rin ang kabataan sa susunod na henerasyon.

Pagdating ng panahon, wala tayong maisasagot sa mga anak at apo natin mula sa susunod na henerasyon kung tanungin man tayo nito, "Hawak niyo na ang pagkakataon para baguhin ang kinabukasan. Bakit hinayaan niyo lang ibigay ng basta-basta ang inyong dignidad?"

Ang mga Pilipino, mas pipiliin nila ang pansariling benepisyo kaysa sa nakakarami, maging mga anak at apo nila, at sa mga susunod na henerasyon.

Hinaing Ng Iba't Ibang Henerasyon

Nakatingin ang isang batang lalaking payat at gusgusin sa kanyang ina at nagtanong, “Hawak niyo na ang pagkakataon para baguhin ang kaulanaran ng bansa at kinabukasan ng nakararami. Nung bata-bata pa lang kayo, bakit hindi niyo pinaglaban ang pag-asa para sa bayan? Bakit pinabayaan niyo lang ang Inang Bayan? Bakit hindi kayo lumaban? Bakit hindi niyo man lang kami inisip?”

Narinig ng matandang babae ang tanong ng bata sa kanyang ina. “‘Yan kasi e. Kaka-internet nila 'yan.”

Napatingin ng masama ang ina sa matandang babae. “Mawalang galang na ho. Kung alam niyo lang, internet ang tangi naming plataporma para iparinig sa bayan ang aming boses. Matanda na kayo pero wala pa rin kayong kinatandaan. Alam niyo naman kung ano ang pinagkaiba ng tama at mali, 'di ba? Pero ano ba 'tong ginawa niyo? Imbis na makinig kayo sa amin dahil kami ang nakakaalam sa sitwasyon ng kalagayan ng bayan kaysa sa inyong matatanda na subsob sa pagtatrabaho.”

Kita sa mata ng matanda ang pighati at pagsisisi. Napatungo na lang ito.

“Pinili niyong hindi kami pakinggan dahil pakiramdam niyo ay binabastos namin kayo. Diyan kayo nagkakamali. Narito kami para magsumbong sa inyo. Bilang magulang, kailangan niyong pakinggan ang sumbong ng anak niyo. Kailangan niyo malaman kung ano ang nangyayari sa ating tahanan: kung napasukan ba ng mga magnanakaw o kung inaangkin ba ng mga kapitbahay ang bakuran natin, ngunit sarado ang tenga, puso at isipan niyo para pakinggan kami. Masakit isipin na kahit alam niyo ang pagkakaiba ng tama at mali, mas pinili niyo pa rin ang pansariling benepisyo dahil trip niyo lang, kaysa sa kapakanan ng nakararami — maging sa mga susunod na henerasyon.” dugtong ng ina.

Kapag Ang Babae Ay Nagmahal

Kapag ang babae ay nagmahal, tiyak na ibibigay niya ang lahat, tipong wala nang matitirang pagmamahal sa kanyang sarili, upang ikaw ay kanyang alagaan sa kanyang piling gaya ng pagmamahal ng isang ina sa kanyang mga anak, na kahit pagod na ay pilit pa ding lumalaban dahil naniniwala siyang magiging maayos din ang lahat at mababalik din ito sa dating ayos nito gaya ng panahon na binigay niya ang kanyang matamis na "oo" sa iyo. Bago mo mahalin ang isang babae, siguraduhin mong ikaw ay karapat-dapat sa pagmamahal na kanyang iaalay sa iyo. Huwag mo siyang hayaan na masira gaya ng isang platong basag na kailanman hindi na muling mababalik pa sa dati nitong anyo – na magbabakas sa kanya ang mga sugat na kailanman ay hindi na maghihilom pa.

Kung ikaw ay iibig sa babae, siguraduhin mong itatrato mo siya bilang prinsesa at hindi isang laruan na pagkatapos mong pagsawaan ay saka mo papalitan, igalang siya gaya ng paggalang mo sa iyong ina, sundin siya gaya ng pagsunod mo sa iyong ama, protektahan siya gaya ng pagprotekta mo sa iyong mga nakakabata mong kapatid, bigyan ng oras at atensiyon gaya ng paglalaan mo ng oras sa paglalaro mo ng Dota o ng basketball, bigyan ng halaga at importansya gaya ng pagbigay mo ng halaga sa mga mamahalin mong mga sapatos at gadgets, pagkatiwalaaan siya gaya ng pagtiwala mo sa sarili mo na makakapagtapos ka ng pag-aaral at magkakaroon ka ng magandang trabaho, mahalin siya ng nararapat gaya ng pagmamahal mo sa mga luho mo, at mas bigyan mo ng priyoridad ang Diyos kaysa sa kanya dahil Siya ang magiging sentro ng pagmamahalan ninyong dalawa.

Kung hindi mo kayang gawin ang mga nabanggit, huwag mo na lang hayaan na mahulog siya sa iyo dahil sinisigurado ko sa iyo na ikaw ay hindi karapat-dapat sa kanyang napaka-espesyal na pagmamahal na kanyang iaalay para sa iyo.

Hindi ka para sa kanya.

A Letter For The Young Old Me

We started to build our dream in life.

Do you remember the days we spent in a long time just to draw, write, compose, produce, record, imagine, capture, and illustrate the things we want to show and express our feelings, thoughts, understandings, wisdom, worth, and purposes in life?

When I was in your age, my vision after 10 years was to become a connoisseur — a dab hand of multimedia arts, fine arts, liberal arts, visual arts, and other learnings and skills related to arts — as yours. I never get worn-out and fatigue to do those things because they continuously made my life colorful, my mind peaceful, and my heart so wonderful that it brings me bliss and they show how much beautiful I was. Besides, they points me "I'm the best and no one could stop and beat me."

I thought I was wrong.

No one stopped me but me. I stopped pursuing my enthusiasm since I chose the wrong path to make myself better than the best me. I thought it was good for me, for us, but wrong. I made myself worse than I thought.

I took it easy and kicked back until I realized I was broke as fuck.

Everything had faded, including yours.

I was jinxed. I was fiasco. I was lost.

But I didn't lose hope.

I always remind to myself that the wrong path I chose was just a challenge that I need to knuckle up and withstand for the sake of my dream, our dream either. I don't need to lose it anymore.

Our dreams are still alive. I will never let it fade that again yet I will apply some pigments to make our dream more colorful, more peaceful, more wonderful than before. I'll gonna make that beautiful as how enthusiasm show us how beautiful we are.

I haven't seen you in ages in as much as you are the old me, the young me. You are my divine influence to make it through this shit. I'll make our vision deeper than the ocean just to bring back the bliss we received from in our enthusiasm before.

We are the best and no one could stop and beat us.
