New paintings (by me, @astralizey) on display at @reduxartcenter-blog from tomorrow in their “Reorientation” group show!

These are all oil and resin on glass, 12"x12" framed. I painted on glass disks that are like 2" wide, it’s adorable.

The concept behind this series is placing a miniature round planet painting inside the negative space of a large frame to suggest the true size of these planets in relation to the rest of the solar system. When we look at pictures of the inner planets (including Earth), we imagine them as huge, because they’re big to US… But they’re really tiny, and they’re floating in the middle of tons of empty space!

If anyone wants to buy them, the originals are $150 each- let me know if you’re interested in a print! They’ll be up on display until April though.
