can you offer me an egg in this trying time? 

i’ve been out of work since august 23rd after having a massive panic attack/nervous breakdown at work and leaving in an ambulance because my hell-brain convinced me i was having a stroke! 

since then, i’ve been in inpatient behavioral health treatment for a week, partial hospitalization for two days, and day treatment for alcoholism for 7 days because i started having withdrawal symptoms after being in the hospital for a day. i hadn’t even realized i was drinking that much, but it was kind of a wake-up call for me that i need to make some huge changes

so i did the program, have more appointments scheduled in the coming weeks, and feel a lot better now that i’m sober and actually working on my mental health rather than covering it with a blanket and saying i’ll get to it later. 

unfortunately, that means i need to be out of work for a while and while i’m lining up a new source of income, i won’t have enough money to pay my rent, utilities, and food costs in october and could use some help. if you can help me out, i greatly appreciate it. if you can just reblog this, i appreciate that too. if you have any questions about what my inpatient/alcoholism treatment was like, hmu. there’s too much stigma around this stuff.

Don’t have spoons for long explanation - also this is only speaking for christianity - but religion has been a force of oppression for women, people of color, and lgbt+ people and the rejection of the religion is often coupled with the rejection of how religion treats them.

I’ll also say that abuse survivors are included in this because it is a reaction to and an attempt to reconcile how (christian) god would allow abuse to happen.

For straight white men atheism is usually rooted in intellectual and rational superiority complexes. It’s a “i am more rational and intelligent than you, how can you believe in something so obviously fake” thing as opposed to a reaction to a societal institution that upholds their oppression and abuse.

Women, PoC, Queer people, immigrants, trauma survivors, etc:  How can I believe in something that teaches you to be cruel?  How can I trust the books that tell me of peace and love, when you use your faith to hurt me?  How can a loving god allow [insert injustice of the day]?

My dad, younger sibling and myself are on the verge of being kicked out of the motel we’re living at. As some of you know my family was kicked out of our house in February and have been living in motels until we can find a place to move too. My dad is disabled and needs someone to stay with him so im unable to leave him to work. I do help watch an older lady occasionally when im able to and my brother works but he doesn’t get paid for a week and a half and we cant make it until then. We need 280 to get the room for another week and no way of getting any money until my brothers payday. We have no money in the bank or anything and nothing to eat but the free mini muffins the motel has for breakfast. My dad and me both are out of some of our medications We’re well and truly desperate and need help. If anyone can help by donating any amount or reblogging this i’d be so unbelievablely grateful.
