Is there any THG characters that u lowkey think underrated? Or any characters that everyone loves but u find them annoying?
I genuinely think Annie is The Underrated Character, honestly. The fandom and the general public made something out of her that oftentimes seems very condescending.
I know we didn't have that much information about her in canon but we do have some information, enough that we know she’s incredibly strong, resilient and smart. I’m fascinated by hers and Finnick’s love, relationship - both romantic and not - and dynamic. I love how being with her reflects his true colors. I love that he is something out of heaven in Catching Fire and then they truly take Annie from him in Mockingjay and we see an entire different Finnick. I love how he becomes when they encounter again, when they get married. I love she makes him softer, more human in our eyes.
I love her heart, how caring it is. I love she’s sensitive. That she refused to leave unscathed from the games to the point she couldn’t cope and pretend like the others. She refused to be normal after the most abnormal of circumstances. She held her scars openfront, loudly and boldly. She was everything the Capitol refused to see, and she wasn't afraid of being.
And when the world took everything from her for the last time, she still was strong enough to keep going. They took Annie from Finnick in Mockingjay and he stopped working as a human being. He became sedated. He only came back to life when the opportunity of having her back was on the table and he needed to act. Annie lost her entire life to the games and when that wasn't enough, she lost the only person who centered her, and still when most people - e.g. we have in the story Katniss' mother - would have crumbled, she held steadfast and raised her child.
For the other question, I can't think of anyone in the books/story I dislike and that everyone else likes. I genuinely can't stand Gale but like... most of the fandom can't either, so we are on the same page.

Mags is actually adorable you’re telling me she went into her private session and napped for 15 minutes. She’s so cute and needed to be protected at all costs☹️
Now feels like a good time to remind everyone that Finnick and Annie got married in Katniss and Peeta’s clothes.

Kintype headcanons pt 2: Finnick
Major tw for most of those
• Never got used to hanging out with his peers, since throughout most of his childhood, he was either alone, or surrounded by much older fishermen (and fisherwomen), something that resulted to him acting much more mature than most of the other kids his age.
• Bilingual. District 4 personally reminds me so much of my hometown in Greece, so i'm heavily leaning on that vibe here, but i'm pretty sure he'd speak some sort of island dialect of Greek (like the Cretan one), instead of the plain old Athens variation.
• Exercises the smallest bits of free will he gets out of pure spite. They once let him wear what he wanted to an event and he showed up in what can only be described as the most halal clothing Finnick Odair has ever worn (veil and all, every inch of him but his face and palms covered).
• His hearing is at least a little bit fucked up from that one time he had to go sponge diving with little to no safety equipment when he was 10 (it paid better than fishing and little Finnick was BROKE)
• Does not show his true emotions to anyone but the people he deems worthy (like Johanna or Annie). Getting that man to cry in front of you is a Herculean feat.
• Used to sh to make himself more undesirable. Did not work because apparently some people found the scars hot. Snow made him quit and heal the scars, so they're not really visible anymore.
• When he's back in 4, he spends all his time by the sea. He lives and breathes for it, and since he has too much free time and can't go fishing with the fellas (people old enough to be his parents) anymore, he gets his own boat and sails sometimes for days on end.
• Swore he'd never get married, until he met Annie. He used to hate the idea of being so closely tied to a person the Capitol could use to hurt him, and he didn't want to put anyone in danger like that, but after the revolution began and he and Annie were at least momentarily safe, he decided it was a risk worth taking.
• Journals a lot, but not in the aesthetic Tumblrina way. He's keeping a part of the history he lived through intact before someone goes ahead and distorts it. His journals are on display back in the Capitol after the war ends.
• Chronic insomniac. Does not sleep, will not sleep, honestly fears sleeping at this point. Even when someone does get him to sleep, he's always on alert, and will wake at the slightest noise or movement. The best sleep he's ever gotten was when he was drugged in District 13.
• His habit of tying knots started when one of the fishermen he worked with taught him how to make friendship bracelets with really intricate patterns just through tying knots in a specific order. While he did eventually stop making them, he still keeps tying knots when he's bored or under stress.
• Dreamed of sailing his way out of Panem when he was small. He tried it once, but he just ended up almost wrecking his ship due to the barrier shutting off the District 4 coasts from the rest of the world.
• Mentoring is the worst for him. He tries not to get too attached to his tributes, but he always does and it ends badly. He just wants them to never have to experience what he did, but he knows they'll either end up exactly like him, or they'll die in the process.
• Every single lyric of "Ah thalassa" by Marina Satti. That's it that's the headcanon. Especially post Mags's death.

Also Singularity cameo. Hello to the five Vita Carnis fans on tumblr
Mags I miss you
To be around for all 75 years of the game and still treat people kindly. The strawberry ice cream to Haymitch, asking the kids if district 12 what they wanted from the games, volunteering for Annie.
My heart aches for her and Finnick. Mags who has never lived in a world without the games and never got to see a world without the games and Finnick who is left to live with the thoughts that if only he kept her alive a little while longer, she may have been alive to see the world she so desperately fought to see
Annie and Finnick 🐚
Odesta my loves you deserved more time
Even though the capital beat him, tortured him, twisted his memories of the girl he loved, and turned him into a shell of his former self. They couldn’t take away his kindness. Peeta remained kind.
"Sometimes when I'm alone, I take the pearl from where it lives in my pocket and try to remember the boy with the bread, the strong arms that warded off nightmares on the train, the kisses in the arena."

bc of u i headcanon annie as an architect now. i know in ur fics she built the house, not just designed it, but close enough
THRILLED to hear this…my agenda of giving Annie a complex rich inner world and interests and hobbies and skills and then that perception of her transferring to people is working…and glad the house building stuck with you!
in all honesty I feel like she would be a great architect. at some point we had a discussion on this blog about Annie’s postcanon job and I could see her being very happy as an architect or carpenter. it’s something that she and Johanna could also connect over (if people are so inclined to think Johanna builds things, which I do)
Watching the victor solidarity scene again and losing it over Beetee, gently holding Mags' hand up:
Meanwhile, Finnick:
Poor gal's about to be lifted off her damn feet!
