It’s been the better part of a decade since I’ve done any kind of comic art like this but I had the idea kicking around in my head and just had to get it out.

I actually had a few pages done already but I ended up deciding to redo them all cause I’m basically learning how to digital art as I go along and felt like I could do better 😅

one of my favorite bits in lord of the rings is something the movies didn't really try to do because it's entirely internal, but sam's carrying the ring and it starts trying to do its work on him, so he's having these intrusive visions of himself marching at the head of a vast and terrible army, and he just starts laughing because, me? samwise gamgee? sam gamgee the general sam gamgee the dark lord are you for real? man i just want to go home and do some gardening. and the ring gets frustrated and it starts trying to figure out other stuff that would actually tempt sam and it's finally like, okay, but hear me out: imagine if you could have...A REALLY REALLY BIG GARDEN

I think I’m just gonna post as many sketches as I can of that one Shadow nightmare comic. I have like 4 different files on my iPad with variations and pages that I’ve redrawn like 40 times over the past year, so I’m gonna post a mix of them if that’s okay lol

There’s so much negative space and the brush I used is like 20% opacity again these are old sketches might not ever finish them but I feel bad that I’ve never really shown the rest of that comic bc it’s sorta a comfort ending and I hate leaving yall with just angst it hurts my soul
