I want Tommy to do a MCYT version of the Great British Bake Off for a vlog. I want to see them all fucking try to make a cake and then do a blind bake for something none of them have ever heard of before that moment. I want to see Wilbur Soot just dump unsweetened chocolate and and salt in a mix and act like that's normal. I want Tommy to cry over some soggy half baked mess that he's trying to add frosting to with two minutes left. Jack Manifold manages to follow the recipe to the letter and it still ends up just wrong but no one can figure out why.

also llike. this isgoing to be a poorly worded post i'm sure there's better meta on it already but like...............genuinely as a fucking abuse survivor there's something very fucking important abt. having items. having stupid small things that are meaningful to you if you've had ur agency stripped from you for fucking years then like. there is something incredibly important and meaningful about having your own small things. it's a way of reclaiming your self when you've had someone Actively Trying to diminish you into the kind of person they want. like there was a point in my past where one of the most important things in my life was my fucking binder with a whole bunch of shitty printed out memes and stuff taped inside it. at that time it was a huge rebellion for me and it was a moment of reclaiming my agency in an environment when i was actively Being Controlled in every single aspect of my life. i genuinely cannot express the importance in my life of small stupid items that i've been unreasonably attached to. & this is fucking why tha cphil lore is so upsetting to me specifically btw!!!! ctommy never fucking valued items over people he was in incredibly traumatic situations with an abuser who took away every semblance of agency or self he had he's had his fucking shit taken from him his whole life. it's not a 'ctommy being selfish thing.'

So, now that we have stone cold evidence that c!Philza is genuinely awful at giving sympathetic advice, especially regarding trauma - When are we going to stop blaming c!Wilbur, who is his son, and would intimately know this part of his father’s nature, for being unable to share his own struggles with him?

I guarantee you that c!Philza didn’t just wake up today and choose to be tone deaf. He has an immortal’s perspective, one that fails to understand how a home can have meaning past ‘material possession’, who fails to see how L’Manberg meant anything beyond ‘hanging out with your friends’. And that mindset shines throughout ALL of his behaviour.

So when you use that mindset as a context for c!Wilbur feeling as though he had to keep his struggles a secret from his father by lying, worried for the response - well, to say the least, that behaviour had to have come from somewhere.

OR when he didn’t stop and get context as to why l’manberg felt the way they did towards techno before blowing the shit to bedrock. c!phil didn’t stop to think about living, breathing people there either did he?

c!philza i’m begging you material items mean something because they come from people. they hold memories and emotions and capture moments that you can’t hold onto forever with the people you care about

He’s right when he says that a person’s life holds more value than a single object but he is completely ignoring the context of literally everything. It’s not fair to lecture Tommy on hesitating between the discs and Tubbo when Tommy did choose Tubbo over the discs. Tommy has always chosen people over discs. He gave them up for L’manberg too!! And it means something that he has, because the discs do mean so much to him! Phil’s telling Tommy to give up the objects that make him feel safe and could protect him when Phil isn’t the person that has to fight for his god damn life every day. You can talk the big talk all you want about ‘not living in fear’ and that comfort items are ‘silly’ but you’re not the one that has something to fear.
