I’m just saying: we know from everything she’s said and expressed in songs how traumatizing paparazzi flashes are and how much they scare and overwhelm her, and how much she hates them. And she hasn’t had to be in front of them in YEARS - like, more than half a decade - without Joe squeezing her hand and shielding her. And I know this was likely a super PR pap walk to keep up appearances and prove a point, but it doesn’t take away any of the trauma of it, and it must have been extra hard and extra sad for her to put on a smile and do this without him, even though she looked perfectly happy. Just one of a series of a million incredibly difficult firsts without him and idc what happened, there’s no way that was easy. And I just love and am proud of her.

i think. and this is gonna sound super corny but whatever. that you don't really realize how resilient you are until you are put in the position where you simply. must survive something. so like, during the relationship, you might be like 'i would never survive if we broke up', you might have all these night-terrors about it. but when it happens, and you still have to get out of bed every morning, you realize how tough you are. you realize that you've always been tough enough to weather any and everything, that you've gotten yourself through so much, so you can survive this too. & that doesn't mean you're not grieving! but i just don't think you realize how strong you are until you have to be strong.

I thought Karma would be this cold blooded revenge anthem, and don’t get me wrong, it still is a revenge anthem, but it has this softness and sunshine to it that sets it apart. Taylor could’ve written about relishing in the fact that those who have wronged her are being destroyed by karma. She could’ve been vengeful in the lyrics, but instead she focuses on how beautiful her own life has become. Those who have pained her have made their choice, so she finds peace in knowing that though they may be relevant and at “the top”, they will never have the love and joy that she has. True Karma is freedom, self-respect, success, serendipity, and love; the most satisfying revenge. It’s their loss that they can’t bask in this permanent glow with her because they decided to chase a superficial spotlight. Taylor Swift, you are brilliant and you are so, so right. <3
